Animation is good, mainly the details with the eyes but nothing special so far. 7/10 for the 1st episode.

A Doga Kobo romcom of one of my favorite romcom manga? You don't even need to ask !

At first you think Izumi's mom (on a side-note, Mr. Izumi you lucky dog landing a MILF like that) is a tad overprotective...until you see that Izumi is a danger magnet and klutzy enough to land in a bunch of painful situations. Good thing he has a girlfriend who can more than make up for that .

Shikimori is the perfect girlfriend...cute, attractive, stunning hair, piercing blue eyes, a polite and sweet personality, and is voiced by Saori Onishi. She even goes beyond being the complete package when we learn that she's also cool as all heck and more than ready to defend her man at any occasion. She's manlier than most men .

The Opening is a really fun Romcom theme with the cast having fun and focusing on Shikimori in various outfits and the wonderful time she spends together with Izumi, while also alluding to their backstories that lead to them being the persons they are now, and ending on the perfect kiss fakeout .

One thing Shikimori's boyfriend has over her...20/20 vision to see whether they're in the same class together. Gotta love how Shikimori says it's okay if they're not together because she'll visit him tons but then she gets so hyped when it turns out they're together again when she thinks Izumi isn't watching. Absolutely adorable .

We also meet the pairs' school friends, the exciteable and direct Neko, the sassy and subdued Hachimitsu (Rina Hidaka for the win), and...Bakugo? What are you doing here? It's like they took one look at Inuzuka and thought the only person who could play him is Bakugo himself .

Gotta admire Shikimori's dedication to defending Izumi that she'll even defend him from a random eraser, even if it ends up landing on her head. Perfect opportunity for Izumi to rub her hair though .

Shikimori does more than just defend Izumi physically, when she sees some boys disrespecting him, she gives them a look that could kill .

I like how in-character everyones' bowling is and how Hachimitsu did so well despite her bowling style .

To be cool or cute...why not both? But I love how Shikimori is debating playing bad at bowling so she'll look cuter only to go full on bowling master when Izumi starts rooting for her. She can't look bad to the guy she loves after all .

Izumi may not think he offers much in his relationship to Shikimori, and she's literally saving his life with her superhuman strength half the time and her Izumi danger sense, but all Shikimori needs is Izumi by her side and to see him say he loves her .

What's nice about this first episode is while Shikimori is pretty amazing, and very, very cool, she has imperfections that keep the series a little more grounded compared to say, Tonikaku Kawaii.

She's just as hopelessly in love with her unlucky-but-unerringly-kind boyfriend as he is with her.

Her power level is still very exaggerated, but it feels more realistic because of her attitudes and the little details like refusing to wear her glasses outside of class.

Very shiny eyes. Don't think I have seen that many series that start with a couple already being a couple instead of becoming one. Not sure if Shikimori is cool or scary but she clearly is beautiful. Also clearly she is a main character with that hair color, lol, you could so play "spot the main character/heroine" with her and Izumi.^^

Also, while she's just being relentlessly cool, another nice detail is that while she is very clearly shown to be slightly below Izumi in height physically, there's frequently opportunities to frame her as "larger" than he is when she's protecting him or showing off. It's a subtle and nice way of composition.

Or how more frequently they zoom in on her face while showing off her "cool and sharp" expressions.

Her presence is just that overpowering, and it is done in a very cute way without making it feel like a gimmick, despite actually being the central gimmick.

Totally not expecting they really pick Okamoto to voiced Inuzuka, did they aware of how readers called him 'local Bakugo'?

Although I'm actually debating whether he has the worst luck or the best. On one hand, he could get hurt or die at any moment. On the other, he scored an incredible girlfriend like Shikimori who defends him from any danger. Yeah, at the end of the day, I'd say the good outweighs the bad.

The title is pretty on point. Shikimori's not just a cutie, meaning she is a major cutie. There were plenty of moments she was just adorable. The real draw is of course how cool she is. I'd be surprised if that school doesn't have a fanclub dedicated to her.

Izumi is pretty okay for now, I just hope he lays off the "my girlfriend is too awesome" thing. The MC of Tonikaku Kawaii constantly thinking to himself how cute his wife was nearly killed the series for me, I in fact struggled to finish it and wanted to strangle him near the end (it certainly didn't help the premise is completely retarded).
