Just in case anybody wondered, ENGI is animating this, Novice Alchemist and KanColle reboot for this season (the last one supposedly premiering in November).

We return to our teasing prospective lovebirds once more during the Holiday season! And you know what they say, Japanese Christmas is for lovers! And we get a pretty intimate moment of Uzaki supporting an inebriated Shinichi and Shinichi seemingly letting loose something pretty major to make Uzaki blush so much...and she hugs him and they embrace in bed together. Wow! I guess we're building up to seeing what happened there this season .

The Opening is a fairly Uzaki Opening! We've got a nice and fun song, those Sugoi Dekai's on full display, Uzaki teasing Shinichi, the supporting cast and the pairs' family all crowding around them, and everyone together in the final scene !

Uzaki misses Summer! But nothing perks her up quite like seeing or talking about her Senpai! And Sakaki gets the juicy deets on their high school lives together .

Shocked Cat! Nyand1! A receptionist with a solid rack! There's the Uzaki I know .

I see Shinichi's private training to become a better bowler paid off, even with Uzaki trying to throw him off his game in the most Uzaki way possible! Not that Uzaki can settle for a loss .

Ayana Taketatsu returns as the Blessed Ami! And she's determined to see Uzaki dress up in as many sexy costumes as possible! We've got sexy maid, classical maid...and imagine spots of all the other Uzaki outifts she could wear! And she looks amazing in them. And in the interest of gender equality, she tries to get Shinichi in leather hotpants, because she wants some exposed nipple action. I like the way Ami thinks !

Hayamin is playing more than one mom on Saturday's as Uzaki mama makes a comeback! But rather than assuming Shinichi is trying to seduce her, she's more worried about Ami forcing her into sexy cosplays or making her and her daughter into strippers. Thank goodness Ami's dad finally showed up .

Bunny Girl Ami feels like the perfect cap off to this plot! And she looks amazing .

Don't you just hate it when your mom interrupts your late-night gaming session and unplugs your game before you can save ?

Uzaki can claim she and Shinichi aren't dating to her friends all she likes, but she's the one taking couple selfies and then the two get nice and intimate as they sleep together between classes! No way Uzaki's friends are going to be convinced nothing's going on there .

The Ending is pretty nice and colorful! Showing off Uzaki and her life with Senpai !

not a fan of Ami, her segment went on wayyy too long and it was just rehash of the same gag

That was honestly a really comfortable first episode back. I'm also feeling really good about having just rewatched season 1 before this aired. Really does feel like nothing was missed going between seasons .

Uzaki and Sakurai remain extremely cute together. They've thankfully reached the stage of messing with each other and yet it being incredibly obvious how they feel. Even Uzaki's pestering and messing with him wasn't too much. It was just the right level for a bit of fun being added to the mix. Even better with Sakurai winning the bowling games .

Ami's nonsense did drag on, but I at least enjoyed her father showing up. No shock that he's not pleased with where his daughter's head goes. If she thinks she's inheriting the cafe then she might have a rude awakening at the rate things are going. Pretty sure he'd be more willing to sell the place to someone before letting her turn it into a place to vent her lewd desires.

I kind of hope we see Uzaki's friends a bit more this season. They seem nice and honestly having a relatively normal group reacting to what she gets up to could be fun. At the very least they are very on point in calling out Uzaki as dating Sakurai. And no chance they'll be convinced they aren't already dating with the way this episode ended .

I'm happy that uzaki friends didn't buy the bs she said about senpai and found her sleeping with him, that's karma.

there were some funny moments, I'm glad this is back.

I liked the Ami segment because it was full of juicy fanservice. The best part was the mother/daughter combo in wet shirts hugging a stripping pole. Ami knows what's up.

The rest was the usual Uzaki stuff, so good. Will probably beat around the bush for the entire season again, though the flashforward at the beginning gives me hope there'll be some progression at the end.

Great to see this back again, this anime is always a lot of fun.

The "something something-san" of this season

Oh yeah, Sakaki wasted no time showing off the intimate photos of Sakurai and Uzaki together...and Ami wishes she was there to see it for herself, of course. But she'll just have to settle for an excursion with the group to get some great SakuraixUzaki moments .

College students commiserating over going to college! Though Sakaki and Ami don't even need to really go anymore, meanwhile Uzaki desperately needs Sakurai's help or she's doomed .

Thank you for that flashback of Sakurai and Uzaki at the pool! With Sakurai's finely toned body and Uzaki in a bikini showing off those sugoi dekai's! And Sakurai took Ami's advice to heart and properly complimented Uzaki in her swimsuit to the point where she's fishing for compliments by buying a new one! I was a little bummed not to get a swimsuit fashion show, but her grabbing bikini tops as a blushing mess was adorable .

Only Ami's version of Futsal would involve Sakurai getting completely stripped .

You'd think this would be a typical "older guys bully younger kids" segment...until the kids go completely savage on the college guys and make them feel bad. And then it gets worse when Sakaki shows up and reminds them how badly their mixer ended up. These guys are so pathetic it's actually kind of sad .

Man, when Sakurai gets into the game, he sure gets into the game! And that determination lands them their final point in the match against the college guys and also violently taking those college guys out! We even got like Mortal Kombat X-Rays to show just how severely her hurt them! Ouch! And then of course they cut and run before they get into any trouble .

It's kind of surreal imagining what Uzaki and Sakurai would be like if the roles reversed. Like Uzaki calling Sakurai by his name instead of "Senpai" and Sakurai being the one to call her "Uzaki-Senpai." But in the end, it always comes back to the pairs' romcom antics !

Only Uzaki would criticize Sakurai's cooking, make some udon puns, and then still eat said cooking on top of his head .

It wouldn't be a proper Uzaki Mama segment if she didn't remember she thinks her daughters' boyfriend is out to get into her skirt...which leads to further misunderstandings when Uzaki thinking her mom saw the material of them sleeping together at college and Tsuki then thinks her daughter is having sex at college and there's a sex tape of them. Like, wow, the misunderstandings keep growing .

Heck, even the younger brother isn't immune to misunderstandings, assuming Uzaki brought home a cute college girl instead of, well, Sakurai. Although we also leave off before we can meet Yanagi, the younger sister...

Which makes sense. Being a year older or younger doesn't change much in college.

The misunderstandings at the end were the highlight of the episode for me. The mom really has her mind in the gutter. I wonder what the little sister will be like.

I almost feel bad for those guys. They were destroyed mentally, physically, and emotionally. Even the kids were actually doing a pretty good job delivering mental damage so they almost didn't need the help .

Uzaki's mother is amazing. The way she interprets things is golden. I appreciate her being there.

Best bit was probably the short flashback of Uzaki being the first to wake up in that situation. I love the offer to send her either the pictures or just a copy of the video of them sleeping together .

I am very happy that they kept using that goofy BGM from first season. It does this show all kinds of favors.

I completely forgot that Sakurai murdered three guys in front of kids... at least Ami got to enjoy some fanservice.

If this season ends where I think it's going to end, then it's going to be real good, a second cour would make it even better.

I can't wait for her whole family to be introduced, especially the father.
