Good.

When NHK is in the production of an anime there is a 99% chance of winning a sequel.

Upside? Maybe an arc that could rival Gugu’s exists. Downside? Tonari could show up again.

I was definitely not expecting this. It’s kind of odd, actually. Guess the NHK factor won out.

Is there enough material for another batch of 20 episodes?

Plenty. This season only adapted the first 6 volumes. There's currently 16 out in Japan (14 in English).

Only six volumes? The island arc could have used some trimming down.

Really? I would have only cut the beginning, middle and end. The rest was fine.

Volume 6 was a pretty good stopping point. As
Spoiler for Not really a spoiler if you watched season 1:
If they wanted to go further then they would have needed to trim the Island arc and have more episodes. The way I see it the next 6 volumes are kind of one big arc, and there's not as satisfying a stopping point.

If things go the way I think they are, then they're likely to do the next 6 volumes in 20 episodes.

*shrugs* I like the Island arc, but I tend to like watching characters who succumb to their environments and then turn around and over come them.
