I was actually able to follow most of this episode and it's the first one in this series that I can consider "good". Also, I like Lieutenant Klim character, he's arrogant but not dismissive of Bel's abilities.
On the other hand, the whole Cahill thing is starting to get annoying... One last note, I think this episode covers the last remaining footage from the opening |

Great ep! Once again I find the lightheartedness of this quite hilarious. Tomino's definitely going for a fun adventure type of mood with this show.
Seems like a lot of what we've been speculating and interpreting regarding the past few episodes are confirmed, including:
Seems like also that psychic mask thing really turns you into some kind of crazy artificial Newtype-ish dude... How else can you explain what happened to Luin? Even Manny can't recognize him. Also, RIP Dellensen, judging from the preview. (As I predicted...)

I did find it a bit odd how we spent that much time on the whole escape pod thing. Maybe the show was goofing around a bit too much with it flying around. Also kind of felt like they were going all One Piece with the water balls. Will using the air balls next unleash a tornado into the battlefield ?
Not a bad episode. At least getting that the Capital Army is really pushing their weapons development ahead and got some good action from the episode. Impressed that the captured trio have enough sense to plan their escape and not just go with the flow here.

Anyways, Klim is weaksauce in hand-2-hand combat(lose against a Cadet). He and Bell had hiliarious conversations over rank and joining the Amerian Army. |

I remember that (and I've seen many people make that prediction), but I guess I was more referencing the prediction that Bellri will be the one to kill them both, which seems like it'll come true.
BTW... If the top of the Capital Tower is connected to Towasanga, and Towasanga is on the moon... How does that work exactly? Very curious.

It was nice to see that they actually are planning to escape and not just going to go along with the group. It's also great that Klim is arrogant but also can acknowledge others.
After seeing what the water ball did I have to wonder what the air ball does. It was also a bit ridiculous how Belir was still piloting the G self with that guy attached to the window.

-How that mechanic is talking about the water balls, and Bell just leaves while he's talking mid-sentence to join Klim/Rara/Noredo to the bridge. -Bell being vocal about the Captain's plans resulting in Klim ending up in a grapple lock. Got to give some points to Klim for honestly acknowledging Bell's skills, true, but the way NOBODY helped him out just seemed hilarious. Guess he's not a prisoner anymore. -Showing Aida saddened by Cahill's death and her crying in the background while some random mechanics are doing their job, albeit in a silly way.(Reminds me of the quote by Prime Minister Rowen J. Ilbert; "as sad as times like these are, the world still marches on."). Think I'm going to have to rewatch every episode. I'm losing track of what is really going on here =0<. Or is this just typical Tomino at work?

The battle was pretty awesome. Although I don't quite get why Aida is so willing to let Bellri pilot the G-self when she can also pilot it. It was supposed to be her machine wasn't it?
I feel like the show would have made a lot more sense if Bellri's view of the Capital Army was a lot more obvious. He's way too happy go lucky towards everything and doesn't really seem to dwell on issues for very long, so it's not very clear that he doesn't like the Capital Army. In general, everyone is just waaay too chill about everything which causes there to be very little tension. |

Raraiya brought the G-Self from space while the Capital Guard and the pirates were fighting for it, and Raraiya was not a pirate. Aida just so happened to use the G-Self during that raid on the cord because she was the only one who could use it. |

This show has wonderful art and animation but horrible presentation, I mean most of the characters seem to act like.. I don't know puppets or something. I had such high expectations after Unicorn Gundam Oh well Ill still watch for the action but I'm not expecting much from the story or characters.
