Ah, thanks! That does make sense that in the end, it was all about her trying to regain power. Of course, the one main flaw in her way of thinking is what bit her in the end: Did she really believe that the queen, the one with the real power who intentionally passed her over as next in line to the thrown, does not know what she had done? She can get in good graces with the King and the Church all she wants, but the person with the real power is her mom. The biggest of which is especially trying to kill her sister. I guess she really doesn't think things through.

Finally, the most anticipated episode of the show is here.
Naofumi taking the high road was expected. He's still a bit of a softie. But it is the right move, IMO. If ever Bitch plot her revenge against him, no one's gonna complain when Naofumi somehow kills her because he already gave Bitch a chance. |

In the meta sense, I am more a firm believer in the Gollum Clause. The protag need to leave a villain, minor or not, live so that one may help destroy a greater scope villain or at least shed some light on the motivations and plans of someone. That have been used in animated series before such as Death Note.

Myne tried to kill her sister, overthrow and probably intended to bump off her mother since there was literally nothing else that would stop her from his just having another Daughter to replace her youngest as heir. The King willingly summoned all four heroes despite the implications and treated one of those heroes like garbage for personal reasons, the former of which I can justify in my head but the latter of which isn't befitting of a ruler.
Death or at the very least imprisonment would be the smart thing here. Quote:

The Queen is the real MVP here for her efforts to cool down tensions and focus on the greater threat. |

Going by how the Shield Hero is revered by Demihumans he probably choose to assist them in a wave, causing someone close to the King to die. That is what you can guess from his words about wanting to loose someone due to the shield hero again. It's also possible that he was one of the adventurers that went along with the heroes, in any case he must have done something for the queen to even consider him a possible husband.

That presumes he trusts others enough to take on a new party member. Besides, Raph took it on willingly and her growth is influenced by slave-user shield bonus. He has no reason to drop hers because she wouldn't let him. As for what the previous shield hero did, no they're being vague about it and never mentioned it. I think its spoilers from a LN further ahead of this one.

it's something that either the anime did different or forgot to mention; I will put it inside spoiler tags just in case they mention it in the next episodes, since they still have the chance. Spoiler:

It feels like they didn't know how to end all these and decided to give everyone a happy ending to tie up the loose ends.
I still have some questions but they would probably be answered next episode
