Oh yeah...I remember reading this after seeing them talking after defeating it. That part was easily recognizable. Had to look up why I stopped reading it. I just didn't like a certain story point. I really hate that type of development so I'll have to pass on the show unfortunately.
Too many shows on Saturdays. ^_^; |

Solid enough first episode.
I can feel for Desir. Obviously going back in time is a huge chance to make things better. But he did just spend a decade in a brutal war and suddenly all that pain, loss, and tragedy was being by the universe as it never happened/meant nothing. So it would take a bit to just process all that and try to change gears towards the positive potential. Plus I could also see some lack of faith. Can one person knowing the future really change everything in a conflict that killed millions? We'll have to hope so. At least he's likely to be way more capable than he ever was originally. I could see his powers maybe being less powerful since he had a decade to physically mature. But his knowledge should be excellent and help him go further. Plus the desperation to save lives (including the ones discriminating) should make it worthwhile. The "hero party" that survived seemed pretty solid. Good group of the best of the best. The only people that lasted as long as they could. Admittedly even in the worst case Desil can avoid them all getting caught up in that blast since he knows it's coming. But obviously will want to change a bit more than that. Curious if any of them have their minds sent back in time since they were all in that blast. Probably won't get that lucky. And hey, Ladoria was pretty cute . So hopefully she'll somewhat be around as the show goes along.

Hmmm why does every magic look like Gate of Babylon... Series is kinda neat but also feels derivative, though I guess there's something to be said for Romantica having that old fashioned tsundere feel -- and decent boob jiggle as well. I'll probably stick with it for now but Saturdays are packed so this feels like it'll be the first to go.

One thing I've observed is that despite the rise and popularity of Korean webtoons, this has not translated into the Koreans taking advantage of said popularity to grow their own domestic animation industry so they can animate and produce their own webtoons. Instead live-action Kpop and Kdrama content still dominate their local airwaves, and it is more likely to find a live-action adaptation of a webtoon there (ex. Uncanny Counter, True Beauty, etc.)
With the exception of titles like the Korean-animated Lookism (on Netflix), I find that nearly all their webtoon titles are getting animated by Japanese studios (like this title, Tower of God, Raeliana, etc.) despite Korean animators being highly involved in the Japanese industry for a long time. There's even word that a Chinese animation studio is scheduled to do an animated adaptation of RoFan title Who Made Me A Princess. Compare with say, the mainland Chinese animation scene (donghua) where they got proactive and grew their local animation industry to animate their local webtoons and novels (ex. Link Click, Bai Yao Pu, etc.) |

I dunno I haven't been that impressed by the Chinese anime that I've seen and its typically pretty heavy on 3DCG. I tried an episode of that Let Me Check the Walkthrough series and it basically looks like entire episodes were done in Unity. In all honesty I wasn't that fond of how Lookism looked either. Plus Korea doesn't have bilibili to bankroll it.

So for now that's going to be his approach. I guess the best option since no one would believe him if he said he went back in time is to power up everyone around him as much as possible. Push and provide a far greater challenge. He's unlikely to be the strongest of them by the end of their journey. But if he can push now then Azeth and Romantica should end up far stronger than they were originally. And that's essential for Romantica since she ended up dying the first time around.
Azeth was too caught up in winning the fight. That wasn't important. Honestly she was also too caught up in being a magic knight and defeating him with magic. She has a sword and he doesn't have a weapon. If she doesn't provide any magic to take then his options are increasingly limited. She probably wins just using swordsmanship or simply turning around and crossing the finish line. It was a race not a battle after all. But everything worked out. He poked and prodded Romantica enough that she should be fired up to surpass him. Though he might want to ease up on looking at her wistfully. It might fire her up for now, but it definitely makes him seem a bit odd.
