I really like how all of the seasons are tying together. Also, I used to think of Railgun as a small side story to Index. Not anymore.

Railgun was never just a side story, it is basically just important main story content that happens to be shown separately.

As for the fight.... You will see soon enough.

As an anime only watched, railgun is the garei zero of toaru; it's a side story that is much better than the main one. and before someone bytes my head off, yes, I know the fault is at the anime studios for butchering index.

Yeah, difficult when you only need to adapt 30 or so manga chapters with their own set of self contained characters against adapting 9 volumes of the LN with a shitton of characters to balance in them.

Of course Index is much more important then spin-off. Index is about global threats, wars and politics. Spin-off events doesn't even get into local news. Scale is just too different.
