Tokage no Ou
Tokage no Ou トカゲの王 Spoiler:
-Based on the light novel of the same name written by Hitoma Iruma(Lying Mii-kun & Broken Maa-chan, Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko) and illustrated by Buriki(Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai, Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko), published under Dengeki Bunko label. -Artist: Shiki Kamizuki -Serialized in: Dengeki Maoh Summary by Deus-Ex Scans and Vexed-Scans: Ikagawa Tokage is a boy with a superpower. He has the the ability to change the color of his eyes whenever he closes and reopens the eyes. Kinda useless, right? Regardless, Ikagawa Tokage strives to strengthen his power in an effort to become the strongest and not have his power be nothing more than a parlor trick. With that desire in mind, he trains daily in an abandoned building in modern day Tokyo. But on one such day, he comes to what looks to be a scene of a crime and feels the culprit might still be nearby. Will he make it out of the abandoned building alive? Is there more to his power than meets the eye? Interesting read so far. I want to see more of him using his power to trick and deceive his opponent in order to get out of tough situations.

A long prologue indeed. But the fact that I have NO idea what the hell is going on + a Buriki-like art style makes it all the more interesting. And you have to admit, that Tokage/Sugamo flashback at the very beginning was so adorable, it's something to look forward to X03.

You know, a very long prologue spanning multiple pages are kind of terrible.
They don't do it like Tora Kiss, with the first chapter having over 100 pages. I won't mind if the first chapter covers the whole so-called veryyyyyyyyyy long prologue, but it doesn't. While it's true that there are lot of things need to be explained first in prologue, this won't do. |

Sugamo is quite the character... in more ways than one.
I have a feeling there really is nothing more to Tokage's power than just changing his eye color, and he just ends up using it for some clever psychological deception. Also, I had no idea the writer of Mii-kun was also writer of Denpa Onna. |

I hope that is the case with his eye power. I find that chars w/no powers(i.e. wits) against superpowered enemies usually make for an interesting story in a series that depicts action. Esp a guy like Tokage. His personality would probably start sucking fast if he got some super-haxed power, even if it'd take him a long time to use it properly.

And if his family sucks, why not make his own, cut tie with his parents who seem to be so retarded... I find the so called prologue to be too long for its own good now. |
