"9" (2009)
Okay... this looks really cute/grim/cool, Burton returning a bit to his roots.
edit: you know the "embedding disabled" error message seriously pisses me off. Yeah, I know they want your eyeballs on the site but they should disable the file *up front* instead of reactively.

I've been looking very much forward to this movie as well, especially knowing it has such a great cast.
Has anyone here seen the sort film which this movie is adapted from? If you haven't its worth cheking out.

I have been waiting for the update version of "9" to come out since I first heard, back in 2007, that Shane Acker had been in discussions to turn his short feature into a full length feature. It's great that Burton and Bekmambetov were able to get Acker's project produced, and keep Acker as the director (it wouldn't be the same without him as the director). I can't wait to see the end result...

9 is one of my favorite short films ever, animated or not. I do have to admit I'm a bit apprehensive of the movie adaptation. The fact that it's a Burton direction does help a bit. I just hope they manage to maintain the atmosphere of the original. |

Ehh.. I'm actually pretty surprised that there wasn't a thread about this before, I mean, its going to be released in a month and I saw the trailer well.. A long time ago .. Tim Burton is it? Well, I'm almost certain it'll at least be worth a watch - though it looks a bit more action-ey than his other movies.

Actually, witchking99 is correct: "9" (2009). For some reason (well not some reason it's the quotation marks), the Search function doesn't pull the thread when looking for just the numeral 9 (are you not allowed to name a thread with a singular numeral?). (Whatever the case, just blame Vexx since he started the other thread which didn't pull up when you searched for 9 (j/k ).) So, expect this thread to be merged or just deleted in a little bit...
@ oompa loompa: Tim Burton didn't direct (he, along with Timur Bekmambetov, produced the film). Shane Acker directed this film, and he also directed the original Academy Awarding nominated short feature upon which this film is based. Last edited by james0246; 2009-08-15 at 18:06. |
