I think they changed some things but overall still a fun finale/show to watch. The battle scenes in the first half was thrilling while we get some yuri moments in the second half.
The next season (Fate Kaleid 3rei!!) has been announced so looking forward to that. I bet it will come during Summer again next year.

The sequel hook has been planted for 3rei as this series ends on a slightly happier note. In all honesty the anime version of Illya vs Gil was a little underwhelming compared to it's manga form. Not necessarily bad, but I couldn't feel excitement with this fight which made it fall kinda flat. Probably be awhile before 3rei comes out though as it's still ongoing in the manga, but there's enough for a 10 episode first season at least.

Maybe with the likely lengthy gap before Drei gets adapted (could be next summer) they didn't want to leave on such a heavy cliffhanger. Smoothing it out and allowing some normal aftermath is probably a good way to go about it. Makes the gap easier on those who don't know what is coming anyways.
The episode itself was good I thought. Had fun with Illya just going nuts there in the battle against Gilgamesh. Such a satisfying moment when she just obliterates him . How's that payback? She did basically have to push her body hard, but at the same time....the sticks serve as recovery devices so there is actually no reason not to do something that insane. Outside of the whole pain issue... Interesting bits with Miyu. Getting to see more of the darkness of her life to this point and a familiar voice expressing hopes and wishes for her future. Also nice support by Kuro. Stopping Illya would be stupid. They can't win without her doing something like that. So better to just support so she can get the job done.

Whats with all those dislike anyway. Its a good choice to change the ending a bit, a happy kind of how to end and ready for Drei. The original story is just too sad, Miyu need some rest!! Plus they only change a little bit of the end there only, no biggy.

The fight was quite awesome (slightly lower than UBW ep24). But I admit, the end of the fight are heartwarming. And probably Iri would gave Illya & Kuro permission to save Miyu in 3rei anime. Oppai Gil style..

The thing that I enjoy the most is those elitist pretentious fans who were slamming Ufotable and saying that Silver Link should have done UBW being butthurt over the change. Never gets old to hear elitists scream like the little entitled, pretentious fucks that they are.
Anyway, it was a nice finale. Don't care about the different ending. I kind of like Prylia most when it's SoL with cool action scenes, I don't know if I can take this story seriously after all the ridiculous jokes and situations that it has done (Which, apparently, what 3rei is, a serious, grim dark story that rivals Fate/Zero, or so they say. Which is bizarre to me, like, where did that even come from?)

I guess Ilya finally got even with Gilgamesh.
It looks like they decided to end this on a somewhat happy note. Guess they didn't want to end things on a cliffhanger like the manga and put the audience through that wait.

The final fight of Ilya vs Gil didn't excite me as much as it should have. It's ultimate zwei form vs Enuma Elish and it just ... went poof and got defeated. Also that ending, what.
As much as I'm looking forward to the "new" characters there is also Kuro's epic answer in chapter 18 that needs to be animated in full glory. |

Very nice finale. The fight scene was good and had a nice contrast with the pretty unepic looking Illya. Gils laughing was kinda weird, machine like. Morning kiss was nice parallel to first season. Miyu silently smiling when doing their homework is so heartwaming.
I could continue to 3rei right now, but the ending was done in a way that I don't mind waiting and having some time to rebuild the hype is probably also nice. |

pretty sure every episode has it
It's a fanservice spinoff and rarely pretends to be anything else. Episode 7 is where the fighting and the plot-relevant things start happening. But the way I see it that's just a different type of fanservice.

Calling Your Name from a Corner of a World
For the last five weeks, I've been watching Fate/kaleid liner PRSIMA*ILLYA Zwei Hertz along with Fate/stay night Unlimited Blade Works.
So, if I've to be honest, I got more catharsis and empathy on this last episode watching Miyu onscreen interacting with her memories and coming to the conclusion that she found her worth through her friendship with Illya. That was for me an epic, tearjerker on display rather if the animation staff continued with the conclusion of Illya's fight against chibi-Gilgamesh thingy. Things get back to normal, and Miyu can continue to enjoy a normal lifestyle with Illya and company. Trust me, it wasn't easy to enjoy this third season due to the polarity amongst episodes from the first to the second halves of this show. Still, I'm glad that the animation staff chose to tease the audience with that twisted bit shown at the close of the epilogue in order to leave the story dangling with a cliffhanger and getting the timing right to announce an upcoming fourth season. With this, now I've finished five out of seven series from the Summer season. |
