I'll believe it when I'm watching end product and not a minute before. Too many disappointments already.

Speaking of... too bad it's a movie instead of a series. That won't be nearly enough time to properly adapt it - but if it actually happens I'll take whatever I can get.

But being a movie and having a renowned director in charge gives me at least some assurance about the technical quality.

According to the released information they plan a series of movies (one per manga volume or something like that).

Oh, that's good. When I heard it's going to be movie, I was worried it'd be rushed to hell and back. Though, 1 volume per movie seems a bit too thin unless they want to add original scenes.

Oh, so it'll be a series of movies. As always, I would have preferred a TV series but at least it's not just one movie.

That's good news, though it means it's gonna be a long while before they finish. I hope it happens while Maruyama is still around, because he's dedicated his heart and soul to making this happen.

Any adaptation of Urusawa material that gets proper treatment will get my time.

I'm the opposite, I prefer movies than TV anime(if I'm a fan of anime today it's because of the movies I've watched in the past). I base my statement on two points.

1 - Movies usually have a technical quality far superior to TV anime.

2 - Movies also have many less restrictions than TV. Scenes like the fight between Arararagi and Adult Shinobu in Kizumonogatari would never be broadcast on most television stations in the world.

I think these two points are very positive and in the case of Pluto, this would be essential, at least for the technical quality. And if it really will be several movies (although I find it difficult), being an TV anime would be something that does not seem to have any advantage. Well, assuming it's a movie for theaters and not for some streaming service, we'd have to wait several months to watch, but so what? It's just a question of having patience.

Reliable leaker - looks like Maruyama’s long, selfless odyssey may finally be nearing it’s destination.

It’s almost hard to wrap one’s mind around this actually happening, it’s been in limbo for so long. Hs any anime project ever had so many false starts?

Well, I did think you needed a laugh given how many hits you'll be taking in April and with that certain series being in Disney jail.

I think Urusawa titles are just generally cursed in this regard. Monster was only ever fully released in Australia in anime form outside of Japan. I happen to be damn lucky to own it. Yes, it did get on streaming recently, but that's a jail of its own.

Edit: Seems rather official now and at least the director of all the other Urusawa titles is in charge of this one. Although...Netflix only will always give me concern...

Great to hear that this is getting an official release. In hindsight it getting a Netflix release does explain why Monster was recently added the Netflix catalogue, at least in Japan.

Considering it's a movie surely they wouldn't be able to screw up this release... right?
