11 will centered on the flashback of 100 Years Ago before the war started and how everything went wrong.

Fair amount of levity here as 907 prepares to go to the Imperial Capital, including sick Sisbell talking about not having a bathroom break for three days in KeurinaÂ’s hideout, dealing with the fact that Sisbell’s identity is out in the open , Jin calling her a moron, and Sisbell trying to sneak into Iska (and JinÂ’s) room to tease them except that Nene and Mismis are ready for such a maneuver and lecture her all night long. Rin is being uncooperative with the Emperor, but invites her to challenges where if she wins even once against him she’ll be allowed to escape the capital without any hindrances. If she gives up – she’ll give him her name. Unbound, she draws her knife and charges at the Emperor.
As it turns out, Risya knew the whole time that Mismis had a Star Spirit, as did the Emperor. While Sisbell was already very suspicious of Risya, she is not at all reassured and demands to know if big E has a power like her own. Risya is not very forthcoming about it, but claims that his ability to sense the movement and wills of Star Spirits keeps him somewhat abreast of what’s going on in the world. Unofficially, Mismis can be a spy for the Empire but her identity will have to be carefully maintained.
Risya herself does not have a Star Spirit – her 4th Generation Star Spirit “Spinning” power is only temporary, the completed version of what 907 got for rescuing Iska back in volume 3. It fades after a week because it’s only granting the power of the Star Spirit, not the Star Spirit itself.
So why is Risya even bothering to come along on the trip? Sisbell insists that she will not hide or flee but will come to the capital like the Emperor told her, and thus Risya lays it on her
“Third Princess Sisbell. Why don't you become one of the Saint Disciples?”

Spoiler for Volume 10:

In the midst of a lot confusion from Unit 907 and indignation from Sisbell, Risya ignores Sisbell's objections and says that she’s not interested in the secrets of the Nebulis Sovereignty. She, like the Emperor is interested in the secrets of the Empire. Of the underground Imperial Diet where top secret discussions are carried – where the first star spirit fountain was discovered over 100 years ago. And this is where Iska’s hair is raised on end – Risya outright says that they’re going to be getting into the lair of the Eight Grand Apostles. To out the secrets. Risya has enlisted Unit 907.
The discussion is interrupted – Risya gets a call from Army HQ that thereÂ’s a minor earthquake in the Nebulis capital which Risya mutters “of all the times to wake up to”
Talisman, and other Hydra family members are discussing various events – keep Sisbell in the Empire and let the 8 Grand Apostles handle it, make Mizerhyby the queen, watch out for Elletear. She took a super high dosage of Star Nightmare in Keurina’s lab, and Talisman was the one who asked the 8 Apostles to erase her at the time (she escaped after faking her mind being empty)
Talisman, Mizerhyby and Mask Om end up having a meeting at the underground chamber where Nebulis is and the coffin is cracking and coming apart. While Talisman comments that this is Mask’s doing, he denies it and claims that it’s just the will of the Founder. Claiming that she will lead the Sovereignty to the Empire to destroy it, that his master Gouda will be rescued and that the traitors that gave him over to the Empire will be punished. This does not move Talisman or Mizu, and they tell him good night.
Rin has lost every single challenge which were board games. She is getting nowhere at all against the Emperor, but she does learn that he is both no longer human and formerly a star spirit – something has caused both to mix and combine into something different. "We" became "Me"
Just like what Sallinger told Rin once.
The Emperor doesn't hate it, but he does very much want to know the truth of what happened 100 Years ago since the evidence was all erased back then.

Spoiler for Next day:

Alice has been updated by Sisbell in very vague detail (I have escaped, the four helpers and I are going to the Capital and I will get Rin back) but Sisbell has become a bit protective of Unit 907 (will not break her promise to not harm the Empire so long as Iska and company help her) and isn't happy about Alice keeping secrets from her and tries to use a few suggestive phrases and photos to get Alice to spill the beans about her relationship with Iska. Jealousy meltdown from Alice, Schwarz (Sisbell’s old servant) hears part of it but thinks nothing of it (since Sisbell is obviously only needling her older sister and neither would fall in love with an Imperial)
The queen then arrives after a long meeting and is worried but proud of Sisbell, Schwarz commenting that she is just as brash and bold as the Queen was in her youth. This leads to the Queen wondering what Sallinger is up to, releasing Schwarz like that when an earthquake rocks the entire palace, removing all astral control over the mechanisms in the area and disabling the elevators.
And Mask is there as Nebulis breaks open the coffin and greets her, willing for his entire family to support her attack – but Nebulis does not care about how her descendants have organized themselves, does not need help, does not care about what's going on in the palace and is ready burn the Empire down by herself. Alice arrives breathless and running, ready to confront her ancestor as Mask smiles indulgently at Alice.

Spoiler for The other side:

Risya and 907 have taken an unexpected detour to the 21st city of the Empire, 100 km away from the capital. This is a location where Keurina was seen a few weeks ago, and Risya has predetermined that her destination was in an old district from before the Nebulis rebellion 100 years ago.
After a few encounters with Imperial Army cordoning off the area with RisyaÂ’s orders, some slapstick later (and Sisbell having to swallow a lot of complaints), Sisbell uses her power to locate the entrance to a hidden room.
But this isn’t like Keurina’s hideout. It’s a vast room full of monitors stacked all the way to the ceiling, full of scrolling green text. Risya works with Nene and uncovers all kinds of info
-People lose their humanity when they merge with a Star Spirit Will (double dipping possession with a normal Star Spirit)
-The Emperor merged with the Will of Defense, Nebulis with the Will to Suppress, and Elletear with the Star Nightmare
-The Catalyst Contamination Zone is key to getting to the “center of the star” and also the source of Star Spirit Wills
-The names of the 8 Grand Apostles and their correspondence with Keurina
Only the correspondence interests Risya as she knows about the rest as does the Emperor. She wanted the proof that the 8 Apostles are directly contravening the Emperor’s orders to not go any further into the exploitation of the Star Spirit Will, and she has the proof that they are betrayers to all.
Thus, the voice of Lucrezeus of the 8 Apostles echoes in the area.
Iska and unit 907 have gotten too close to the secrets of the world without being aware. Sisbell sought forbidden truth and has now become too much of a liability to Hydra and the 8 Apostles. Risya remained loyal to the Emperor instead of switching over to the 8 Grand Apostles.
Lucrezeus is not here to erase the evidence. Here to erase the witnesses.
Having lost their physical bodies 100 years ago, the Apostles have other methods of remaining in the world through technology and digitization of information. Lucrezeus reveals his trap, inhabiting one of machines that Iska saw in volume 4 and 9, but built to way higher specs, powered by star spirits, self-regenerating, tough, fast and strong.
4 black pillars rise up and block all outside star spirit interference – the Emperor will not know what happens here and Sisbell cannot use her own Astral power to spoof Lucrezeus's sensors.

Spoiler for Fighting:

Nebulis is a lot calmer this time around. Alice declares that as a temporary Queen, she won't let Nebulis out to damage neutral cities or harm her own brethern which Nebulis replies "beat it daughter" and blows up the entire cave in a instant.
Over with Iska, things have gotten very dicey. Risya's threads can hold Lucrezeus but he has blades to cut the threads. Iska can cut through the outer layers of his armor but can't get to the reactor where the star spirits are being held, the armor keeps repairing and spoiling Jin's sniping. Nene doesn't have her anti-armor equipment. Lucrezeus is keeping both Iska and Risya in his sights and can release star spirit energy in such amounts that Iska has a 1/3 chance of successfully cutting it (failure means vaporization). He can drop countless icicles from the roof, open up magma pools on the floor, generate all kinds of effects.
No openings. According to the apostle, this is only 30% of what the output could be...if the Apostle could get to the secret hiding in the center of the star. But it's still more than enough to clean up the witnesses.
Jin has already come up with a plan on the sidelines and is moving Mismis, Nene and Sisbell into position.

Spoiler for Part 2:

Alice can block Nebulis's firepower but not the sound wave of the explosion underground, almost losing consciousness. But she remains resolute to stop Nebulis - Alice had zero time to protect Mask Om. Had he not teleported out, Nebulis would've incinerated him. Alice isn't interested in telling Nebulis not to be angry, but she won't allow ancient grudges to force their perspective on the present generation. She knows what she has to do to unite the world, a very different way from Nebulis's horror.
And Nebulis rejoins that Alice knows nothing of despair, nothing of hardship, nothing of a life absent of luxury. The world cannot be saved by a "hero" that does not want to dirty their hands.
She uses a power that raises four black pillars around Alice. And now things are bad - those pillars absorb all and any astral power. Absolutely nothing Alice does with her powers will do a single thing to those pillars, no matter how much ice she throws at it or how low she brings the temperature.
Nebulis is out to break Alice's spirit. She alters the flow of time, and Alice is doomed to spend hours in the trap to a few minutes in Nebulis's time.
Alice berates herself - she was naive! This is the Founder. Had Iska not been around in Ain, she would've had zero chance of winning.
So if Iska isn't here...is it okay to lose?
Absolutely not. Alice grits her teeth and yells out that Nebulis is just a naughty brat.

Lucrezeus has almost cornered Iska and Risya. Iska manages to cut (with a feeling of prayer) the first star power blast, but the next one is going to be too big. However, Jin interrupts - isn't Lucrezeus just giving himself away?
With all this power and that armor, it should be no problem to just blow everything up the hard way and tank the shockwave. Other purebloods would just unleash all their power and be done with it.
The reason why - Jin swings his rifle butt at one of the blackstone pillars and shatters it. It's fragile stuff. Nene and Mismis do the same. The Emperor will know now.
As Lucrezeus powers up to blast everything away, Nebulis appears from the roof claiming "I found you"
Lucrezeus panics and fires at her - but it's just Sisbell's illusion from 100 years ago.
It's all the time everyone needs to take Lucrezeus down for good, Jin, Nene and Mismis finishing him off with a salvo of bullets to the reactor.

Nebulis is musing about Crosswell, and on how this trick wouldn't have worked at Ain - the blackstone is fragile stuff and Iska would've instantly broken it. But for a Astral Mage that relies entirely on their powers, the though of using their hands and feet would never once come up.
Which is what Alice does. Bleeding from her hands, pale white from exhaustion and aching from the headbutts, she still didn't lose herself to despair.
Nebulis admits that Alice resisted her well, telling her that the refined and purified version of this blackstone is what the black star sword is - it doesn't cut astral power but rather absorbs it. Only "the people of the star" living on the outskirts of the world know how to work with the stone.
Whether Iska knows about this is not something she can say but she doubts Crosswell would've told him.
Alice has no more energy to fight and is losing consciousness but hasn't lost her spirit, thinking that if she allows Nebulis to escape then she has no right to stand before Iska who has kept all of his promises. But she still passes out. Nebulis leaves.

Spoiler for Skipping a lot but this one intermission is important:

Elletear is spending her last night as a human. Johan, the 1st Saint Disciple who slashed her mother is with her.
Johan was born in the Nebulis Sovereignty, and was rejected from the army for having powers that were too weak. Meeting Elletear, they have spent a long time preparing.
He was a traitor to the Sovereignty and the Empire.
He doesn't want to have to do anything again like hurting Elletear. Even if she becomes a monstrous being, he'll still be her knight.
They'll tear down those who use their power to discriminate against the weak, those who despise normal people and weak astral mages, those who cannot stop fighting this useless war. The Empire, the Sovereignty, the Founder Nebulis, the Emperor, the 8 Grand Apostles, Zoa Hydra and Lou, none of their enemies will be spared.
It's a sad scene, that ends several hours later with inhuman laughter.

Spoiler for Ending:

Finally Unit 907 has arrived in the capital with Risya. But Crosswell meets them there, telling them to go see the Emperor ASAP who is an annoying being but not a villain. Crosswell is his usual curt self, because while Iska and Jin are glad to see him, he tells them he has the angriest relative to deal with and leaves.
Alice wakes up feeling nauseous and pained but still jumps out of bed declaring to her mother that she is going to the Empire to stop Nebulis, protect the spies in the capital and recover Sisbell and Rin!
According to the Emperor's intuition, the Imperial Capital is going to be at ground zero of the war in 17 hours at the end of volume 10. Everyone is reaching for their goal and getting ready to fight.

Another long wait, here we go!
Whether this is where the climax of the series begins, or if that's for the "center of the star" that everyone keeps talking about, I dunno. We'll see

Volume 12 is scheduled for Fall 2021. We're back to the present day.
The author's note does not say it's the finale.
So at the very least, there'll be volume 13. Seriously few pictures in this volume, and I dunno why.

Spoiler for Prologue:

Iska and company are off to see the Emperor, and Iska is feeling a bit uncertain. Why did Crosswell speak about the Emperor with such casualness? There's a bit of slapstick here when meeting the furry, with Rin tied up in a knot that anyone could push open and Sisbell being teased.
In the meantime, things in the Sovereignty only keep accelerating. Alice is moving at full speed to get to the Empire to stop Nebulis from igniting total war, only then to hear that the Zoa family has disappeared. They're actually on route to the Empire, planning to use Nebulis's attack to launch their own offensive. The Mask and Kissing are getting fully ready to destroy on the train, speaking about Eayn in the distance with dismissive terms. Alice's mission becomes to stop the Zoa first, and hope that the Imperial Army can hold back Nebulis long enough, not willing to put Iska, Sisbell or Rin in danger or allow the war to kick into high gear. Schwartz is feeling doubtful, the Hydra haven't made any move, and Mirabell is trying to get a handle on things domestically.
As Sisbell and company head underground to get close to where the first star spirits emerge, the Emperor straight up tells them that this is a Bad End story. He wants to know the full truth, and wants Sisbell to show it all. And it all lights up.

100 Years Ago

Spoiler for 100 Years Ago:

Crosswell Gate Nebulis arrives at the Imperial Capital - and is promptly disappointed. He was looking to work as a laborer to earn money for back home, and his part of living is looking at a messy shanty town with serious environmental pollution and sketchy alleys everywhere. Never the less, his cousins Alicerose Sophi Nebulis (a dead ringer for Alice IX) and Eve Sophi Nebulis (doesn't look any different from the modern day) are waiting for his arrival where he gets kicked in the face by a Eve who's out to destroy all debt and utility collectors. Alice is much more calm and peaceful, but Eve's love is pretty overprotective (and jealous). Life is a whirlwind of cost cutting at home while working in difficult conditions underground, but it's lively and full of cheerfulness too.
Crosswell is a miner and the sisters provide food and water to the miners. There's been a lot of digging at the location for iron ore, and are aiming for five thousand meters deep. And Crosswell gets a suspicious feeling - there's never been any ore found in this mine, the Emperor is taking an interest in things, and even the Crown Prince visits the place.
This is also how Crosswell meets the Crown Prince Yunmelgen, extremely androgynous member of royalty who innocently loves getting a rise out of people. Crosswell is not impressed and almost drags him to the police station after a pickpocketing.

Spoiler for It all becomes set in stone:

As Crosswell meets up with Yunmelgen time and time again, things become clearer and clearer. The iron ore story is just a cover - scientists have identified some inexplicable energy source at 5000 meters below ground, possibly the clean and limitless energy that can revolutionize the world. The Emperor is being advised by a group of 8 scientists and philosophers and giving more and more authority to them. A giant ceremony is planned for when planned depth is achieved.
And the future Eight Apostles are already under heavy scrutiny from Yunmelgen. He distrusts them, and they are actually planning to use the ceremony to get rid of the Emperor and the Prince in order to seize power for themselves. Well, what happened then isn't much of a secret. The ceremony is held with lots of press and publicity, except that the Astral Force moves up bypassing all barriers and safeguards, enveloping the entire area. And people fall unconscious.
When Crosswell wakes up three days later, most people have been discharged from the hospitals, some of them with bruises on their body. Like the one on his neck. So far, things don't seem too crazy, and he goes home to his cousins to get back to searching for a job since the mining position is no longer useful.
Except that Alice is feeling inexplicable levels of heat in her body at night. And that same night independantly, Eve goes into a bizarre trance and runs back to the ceremony location and blows up stuff in front of Crosswell before falling unconscious.
Crosswell questions her the next morning, but she remembers absolutely nothing as does Alice. Shrugging it off, Eve turns on the tv only to see one of their former coworkers creating fire out of thin air.

Spoiler for Things Get worse:

The Emperor hasn't woken up at all since the event. Yunmelgen hasn't contacted Crosswell since. Cameras and microphones are following all the bruised people all the time and the Nebulis gang are getting tired of it. Crosswell becomes desperate and uses the secret route that only Yunmelgen told him about to visit his room, and shocker, Yunmelgen is no longer human. Actually, he has periods of animalistic confusion where he is no longer Yunmelgen but "Mel," like some kind of split personality. And things are difficult because he cannot show his appearance to anyone, even his close retainers. His ability to help Crosswell is severely curtailed.
Things aren't getting better in the eyes of the Empire. There are numerous robberies and violent crimes by a minority of the newly empowered. Old grudges are settled. The police become more militarized, and the army is being called in slowly and surely. The Eight Apostles are happy at the state of affairs, but wish to regain control over all the dissidence within the Empire to shape the narrative. The "witch" name brand begins here.
And things only get worse over time. Passive aggressiveness from the neighbors, constant surveillance, endless news about more crime, things are becoming very unwelcoming for the Nebulis family.
And it all comes to a head once one of their coworkers gets arrested. Eve disbelieves it, and runs off to make an appeal at the Imperial Parliament. And when the guards try to arrest her for disobedience, she snaps.
Sera....So Sez lu teo fel nalis pah pheno lef xel.
It's not said what she found from her forced entry, or how the co-worker was being imprisoned. There's no confirmation or debunking of the claims from volume 2 and the videos held by the Zoa about how witches were treated. All Crosswell knows is that the underground parliament was blown to pieces, and Eve disappeared.

Spoiler for Uh Oh:

After a lengthy questioning period, Crosswell is released. He talks with Yunmelgen over the comm, and it's a bad situation. Eve did eventually find the prisoners and escaped with them somewhere, but the parliament was destroyed and the Eight Apostles injured. It's all but a rebellion at this point. The crackdown is only now starting.
Yunmelgen becomes blunt - there's no place in the Empire for the Astral Spirit wielders. They're going to have to leave and let time smooth things out (hopefully). Yunmelgen can only provide intelligence and look the other way
As Crosswell gets home to Alice, Eve suddenly appears out of nowhere and drags them into some kind of alternate dimension space. She declares her intention to leave the Empire and start up somewhere else. She is also becoming quite forceful and cold, willing to fight anyone and everyone in their way. Alice wants a bit of time before leaving, not wanting to throw everything and everyone away so abruptly and calms Eve down a bit - but it's noted that this is the absolutely last time Eve smiles at her sister.
Half a year passes by. Alice is getting more and more mature while Eve recruits more Astral wielders (and has stopped eating and aging) while Crosswell is aging extremely slowly. Until the underground site is completely sealed off, more astral spirit wielders will continue to be born in the capital - but there are only a few days before the great escape.
And the plan is already compromised. The Eight Apostles have caught Crosswell's former supervisor who is having second thoughts about all of this. And he is not entirely pleased with how Eve did things - especially since she is in large part the reason why the Empire is unforgiving to people like him. All he has to do is spill the beans and he and his family can stay in the Empire secretly. What indeed is Drake In Empire to do?

Spoiler for The Worst Day of the World part 1:

Yeah, the escape is an absolute disaster. A bunch of gunmen enter Yunmelgen's room and shoot him to pieces. Explosions go off in the capital while the witches are approaching the transports. National rebellion is recognized and the army is sent in to put down the insurgents. The set up is complete the second Eve starts throwing around block busters and residences get destroyed in the crossfire. Crosswell's astral power seems to be immense physical strength as he escapes with Alice and tries to find a way out of the capital - only to be forced to double back and see the expanding carnage. Soldiers, astral wielders, civilians, everyone's getting hurt and killed. Chaos and fire are spreading. Eve doesn't care who gets hurt and is giving into her anger. Alice tries to get people to cool off but the Imperial soldiers are panicking and capture orders become kill orders. One shoots her and as Crosswell runs over and tries to shield her the soldiers get ready to execute them both.
And thus, the scene where Eve declares herself a witch out to destroy the Empire. The Staff of Heaven comes out, and the entire landscape becomes burning rubble.
Alice is hurt but not dead and is trying to get Eve to stop with the senseless destruction but it's all just too little too late. Whoever set this all up left everyone in the dark, and people are dead because they did what they understood to be right. It's all a mess.
Yunmelgen (not affected by all the bullet holes) shows up to try and reason with Eve, but Eve is dead set on destroying the Empire that hurt her family and her comrades. Even if Yunmelgen talks about some group inciting this all, and the feeling of some evil secret behind all the Star Spirits that needs to be dealt with, Eve won't stop and the fight almost recommences.
So Crosswell makes his choice. He tells Eve and Yunmelgen to stop. He will stay in the Empire, and work with Yunmelgen, while Eve should leave and start up somewhere else with the rest of the comrades. Crosswell knows that something has to change in the Empire, and only someone like him can help Yunmelgen right now as he is.
But then, everyone with an Astral power is suddenly unable to move.
Ris sia sohia, Ahz cia r-teo, So Ez xiss clar lef mihas xel.
The stronger fighters collapse, even Yunmelgen and Eve. The Star Nightmare has begun to awaken, felt all the way from the center of the star and the song cannot be resisted by those who accepted the powers of the spirits.
There's nothing left to do.
The fighting is over with the army retreating and the Astral wielders unable to go on.
Eve leaves with Alice, while Crosswell says goodbye to an unwilling and clearly unhappy Alice.

Spoiler for 10 Years Pass:

Crosswell is using stickers to conceal his astral power and serves as the Saint Disciple. Reconstruction continues in the capital while the Sovereignty sets up as a refuge for those escaping countries and places where the fear is very real. The new emperor goes about business with a selected public figure and tries to find the evidence of the Eight Apostles doing their thing all those years ago but nothing was ever found. The guys who attacked him died without saying a word.
Crosswell has also collaborated with the people of the stars (whoever they are, mentioned repeatedly over the past volumes) and the star swords that Iska will wield are in his possession.
And Eve reappears attacking the city. Alice passed away from her injuries, and Eve is losing it. In tears and in rage, she's going to destroy the Empire.
Crosswell tries to reason with her. The Star Swords can defeat the calamity at the center of the planet, help prevent the uncontrolled spread of Star Spirits, make things more manageable. Buy time for Yunmelgen and Crosswell to change the Empire from the inside. Despite the damage and rage and anger, there was no full scale war because mostly of Alice who tried everything she could to stop it all and help what the Emperor and Crosswell were trying to work for.
But it's all for nothing. Eve considers herself on her own from here, and is going to do as she pleases.
And as they begin to fight, Sisbell runs out of stamina.

Spoiler for The Beginning of the Worst Day in the World yet again:

he Emperor is pleased. The Eight Apostles are now guilty beyond any measure of doubt and can be disposed of legally and completely. Iska and everyone else are speechless, with Iska wondering why Crosswell never said a word – but some things begin to make sense. Nebulis recognizing the Star Swords. Crosswell's mentions of his family. Some of the things said about the calamity, but Iska wonders a bit how Alice 1 looks so much like Alice IX - but the entire cavern begins to shake. Something is going on at 5000 meters below ground, where the 8 Grand Apostles are.
Elletear has visited their lair. Their mecha was destroyed in volume 10 by Iska’s team, and they have nowhere left to go as their server remains stuck in place. Their plots have only led to their doom.
Elletear has only become more beautiful - and terrible, shining with energy. She is ready to purge them as impediments to her desire to tear down the Sovereignty and the Empire, and as the people who ordered her death during her time in Elsa’s Coffin. She joyfully gives voice to a different song from the Star Nightmare.
Crosswell has arrived where Eve is forcing entry to the Empire, and is reflecting on his situation. The Star Nightmare cannot be defeated by Astral Wielders because of their natural weakness to its song. Iska, his last disciple is just gonna have to make do.
In the end, 100 years of effort and fighting have come to this. The Hydra, the Zoa, the Disciples, the Armies, everyone is preparing to get in the Imperial Capital while Elletear prepares to make her move.

All that’s left for Crosswell is to play out his part to the end. And he starts by trying to get Eve to listen and talk with her before the story ends.
