I just read the synopsis of the volume from solitarytranslation and got me curious. Will Hermes consider him a threat if Bell beats the floor boss, does he be OP and beat it on his own, or just try to outlast it till support arrives~

Hermes doesn't seem to be evil from the spoilers on 2ch. You can read the prologue and first chapter from the homepage, which is the exact same place where they left off for the Web version (epic bait for Web readers). I felt Hermes has a slight antagonistic feel in the web, but here he's just *really interested* in Bell. Spoiler for Color Illustration = NSFW: Spoiler for New characters | Plot outline | Misc stuff: From left to right as shown from the character bio page, Asfi (Hermes Familia) - Item Maker, Hermes makes her head spin a lot of times. She had a bob cut in the web, but I guess they improved her hairstyle here. Chigusa (Takemikazuchi Familia) - Supporter-ish/bag carrier, she's the one who got injured in the prologue, forcing Takemikazuchi to aggro-dump those mobs onto Bell and 'em while trying to escape. Mikoto (Takemikazuchi Familia) - She's the one mentioned in volume 4 that just got to level 2 and was screwed over with the chuuni name (絶影/Zetsu Ei). The other two girls are the twins mentioned in the side story in Loki Familia who are Ais' amazoness friends. Basic plot as continued from last time, Bell and them move into the mid-floors, got screwed by Takemikazuchi's Familia (the same Take that taught Loli-God dogeza), then Monster Party happened and 人生オワタ＼(^o^)／ with Bell and them getting bombed by Hellhounds. This ends the prologue and chapter 1 from the link above, so rest are tibits from 2ch/Amazon/Reading Meter etc. They probably survived that with help of Salamander Wool that Eina told them to buy before heading there. They then got isolated and unable to backtrack, Lily suggested them to head all the way down to Level 18 to get help (might be a safe area there like Floor 49 or something, the level after the Moytura fight shown in the side story manga below). Meanwhile, Hestia went to get help and enlisted Hermes' help along with Takemikazuchi's (Mikoto felt incredibly bad for aggro-dumping anyway, so it's likely they told Hestia what happened) as well as Ryuu. In the web though, it was Hermes who wanted to kill Goliath so ... anyway, as mentioned the boss this time is the first Monster Rex we've seen in the main story, Goliath. Apparently, it has insane regen skills and can rival Level 5s. I think 2ch mentioned a red one and a black one, not sure what to make of that? If you can't give the boss the final strike that completely ends its life, it will just come back, so even level 4s have trouble with this guy if you just don't have high firepower (hint: magic needed). Anyway, some way or the other they all met up at a "Dungeon Resort" (title of chapter 4) along with Loki Familia (probably on their way back after their trip to Floor 59), where Bell managed to peek at all the girls taking shower without divine retribution (I guess that Luck Status from volume 4 came in handy here) but Hermes seemed to have gotten his ass handed to him for doing the same thing. The special leaflet from Amazon talk about how Hestia was pissed off that he never peeked at her instead! Eventually, they (are forced to?) fight Goliath again, Welf (spelling?) finally decided to use his heritage/bloodline and forged a magic sword to nuke its ass, then Bell used his Argonaut (freaking 3 minute charge up time) to finish it off. We do not know if he leveled (I hope not). Random tibits: There are also some really cool characters introduced like 勇者、九魔姫、猛者 who collectively are referred to as Herioc Vessels. 九魔姫 sounds even more awesome than 剣姫. Mia (the bar owner) is most likely from Freya's Familia, Syr might be related too. They added a scene of Hermes wanted to meet Freya but he asked Mia to help him set up a meeting. The biggest (@)#$*)@ factor is probably that Bell's (adopted) grandpa is Zeus, who mentioned that Bell has no talents. Bell is 100% human rest assure. Without reading the book I can't tell you much more than this. Anyway, Book 2 of the Side Story's also coming out, very nice cover I might add. Ais' manga is also be out on Gangan Joker's June Volume. Sample pictures here and here (thanks to AkibaBlog, SUPER NSFW); art's super cute, a bit too cute. One thing's for sure though, Book 5 is even better than Book 3 base on reviews. Here's the sales figure from the last few volumes. While I'm happy that Danmachi's doing great (as well as Knight's and Magic actually), but seems like non-Narou-kei NEW writers are doing horrible, which sucks a lot. Can't say I'm a big fan of Narou stuff in general (reason summed up in one picture), even though it has some nice titles like Log Horizon (which was mentioned along with DanMachi in Eromanga Sensei!).

In the second pic, that's Lili all the way on the right. You can tell by the worse-for-wear pack she's carrying and the hood. I think that's Welf carrying Bell on the left, but it could be the other way around.

unless I'm looking at the wrong thing... it was taken down like a 1/3 (there be like 3 chs and a 2nd part to 2 of em) in vol 2.

so it doesn't seem like there's any need to look at the web.

unless the author had went to some other site to continue a web version as well but unlikely

Spent like 4 hours burning through 200 pages today and finished the volume. Completely blew volume 3 away (and volume 3 was excellent). The whole Goliath fight kept my blood running and lasted the entire last chapter (60+ pages) without losing pace. Asfi and Ryuu are too awesome, even Ouka (leader of Takemikazuchi Familia) and Mikoto had their little bit in the spotlight too.

Spoiler for Plot:

This Goliath is irregular because it spawned at Floor 18, whereas the normal one spawns in a boss room at Floor 17, which Loki's Family went to kill on the way back, so they didn't witness Bell's heroics (Ais and Bate would probably go nuts if they saw it though). Hestia used her Arcanum power to scare off some thugs that kidnapped her to beat Bell up, which was actually secretly supported by Hermes as he wanted to see Bell's growth. He gave the thugs (same dudes from Volume 4's bar scene) Hades Hat made by Asfi, who's actually a neta of Perseus, to assist them in kidnapping Hestia and beating Bell up. However Bell, who had been stalked by Freya so much that he can sense people's intent, so the invisibility was useless . Anyway, the Dungeon, which is likely to be a living "thing", sensed the Gods are here and with its hatred for the divinity spawned the Goliath in retaliation.

Similar in idea as with the minotaur (which was trained by Ottarl), this Goalith's a souped up version of the normal one. The entire last part is like 100-people raid on the guy since his spawning from the ceiling caused the road back to Floor 17 to be blocked off, so everyone from the Dungeon Resort came to help; Dungeon Resort (Livila Street) is basically a supply outpost on this floor, but everything's super expensive (Lily's new backpack costs like 20k; I think a meal in volume 1 is like 40 or something ...). Goliath is a 2 phase 4 stage fight ... kinda, and I don't really want to spoil it as there are a lot of things going on.

Anyway, after the fight ends, Hermes mentioned this is an especially weird times with an abnormal concentration amount of Heroic Vessels.

Hermes said Bell's the last hero bequeath by Zeus's Familia (since Bell's his adopted grandson). Epilogue starts with Guild giving Hestia and Hermes unknown penalty for entering Dungeon, and made everyone shut up about the whole incident because they deemed it a catastrophe caused by Gods. As usual, bans on discussion are not possible for humans, so the whole thing leaked out obviously. Scene ends Hyacinthus reporting to Apollon, who said he wants Bell (no homo ... maybe).

If I have to rank the volumes 5 >>>>>>>> 3 >>>> side >> 4 >> 1 >>>>>>>> 2.

Nice. Can't wait to see where the author takes this. This dungeon sounds like something cooked up by enemies of the gods. Maybe we'll see some antagonists that spawned in its deepest bowels.

It is speculated by lower world people that the lowest floor of the Dungeon connect to Underworld and the Gods know what is in the lowest floor so it is quite possible
