Oh, I think I just threw up in my mouth, not because of your idea but for the very fact that Keanu Reeves was mentioned. He just such a bad actor! I know I'm going to upset some fanboys here, so let me explain first! The only movies he was good in were Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Speed and The Matrix. I love all those movies, but anything other than movies like that he honestly sucks. He needs parts that suit his personality or lack there off. He's just not a very good actor IMO. Well to be honest, I don't really know that many Asian actors. I, personally, love Asian guys. They're hot! I just don't watch their media enough (that isn't anime) to pick a good actor. I wouldn't know any better. I only really know the musicians than anything else. And I do like your pick for Byakuya. He's very smexy!

anime/Japanese culture in general is obsessed with Caucasian, its no wonder they would be the preferred pick for live action actors.
however, many characters are indeed Caucasian-like especially aizen and ichigo.

soifon and ishida should ofc be asian casted.

1-A good deal of Bleach characters look Caucasian rather than Japanese. Honestly, I wouldn't like some characters portrayed any other way. Characters such as Orihime, Kenpachi(yes, he looks white), or Gin. And of course characters like Chad or Yoruichi look far from Japanese.

it is often 'wrong' because the companies tend to use really horrible translations or flat out rewrite and butcher the dialog. some are good, but a lot are bad.
also, some of the voices end up sounding really off, but that can be more of a preference issue.

Can you imagine Bleach as a movie where half of them are white and half yellow? What language would they speak? Horrible Jap-Eng or HORRIBLE Japanese from one side and epic from the other? Of course this is just a "what if" thread so I understand the fact that we don't have to think realistic, but if we're gonna be realistic (as I was trying to be, sorry for not explaining what I meant) then I'd go for an all-yellow cast. That in mind, some of the Asians I've pictured as actors for Bleach are from China, but this can be excused, because Japanese and Chinese both sound smexy and they might understand each other. At least a tiny bit. Whatever, it's excused for being smexy. BUT THAT'S THE ONLY ONE!!1one

I don't think watching dubs is "wrong", but I think (personally) that if you're going to watch something that was made by Japanese people you should watch it in Japanese. It's my way of "preserving", honouring and enjoying other cultures. I never watch dubs of absolutely anything. If I want to watch a series or movie which has another language than Norwegian or English, I watch it with subs. That also goes for other Scandinavian languages like Danish or Swedish, two languages not far from Norwegian and yet our country has started DUBBING them... Oh lord have mercy, what has it come to

The only reason to watch dubs (in my opinion!) is if you can't see (blind, etc) and therefore can't read subs. Keep in mind, these are all my personal opinions, and the words "white" and "yellow" are in no way meant to sound racist - as I love Asians and I myself am white.

well, it's a long list, mainly because you need pretty muscular, tall or "older looking" people in some cases. The rock muscial Aizen for example looks way too young imo, same in Byakuya's case. Renji was too feminine. Sado wasn't athletic enough(we know this issue from the life action Onizuka series, that actor really should have buffed up a lot more),..

Kenpachi: Mr T. He is black and doesn't look like kenpachi at all but he is awesome right.
Inoue: Pamela anderson. Any big breasted blond would do. (yes hollywood inoue is blond)
Ichigo: Goku from dragonball evolution. He doesn't even need to change his role
Urahara: Jim carrey (i actually like him but i will put him in this movie anyway)
Some roles reservered for Martin sheen, Dr Phil, Meghan (ugh) Fox, Schwarzenegger and all of this will be directed by michael bay.
