I don't think it will be frontier direct sequel, the frontier casts had fully developed character development and to resurface main love triangle is obsolete the movie and tv had concluded that, i think they only return like Max and Millia in macross 7 as side characters.
Frankly, i am not really excited with it this, feel like Kawamori re-use macross frontier to cover his shame over delta fail to hype the fans again I prefer to see returning cast from macross 7 or maybe original. |

Delta was not my favorite Macross gig, but I wouldn't go as far as describing it as the Gundam Age of Macross or Kawamori's shame. It was not that bad, just left much to be desired. - Tak

Now that you mentioned it, do we know the merc-sales data of Delta? We know that the song albums sold well since its Macross, but what about the other merchandises like DVD/BD, plamo, action figures, games, etc?

Yay! The Galactic Fairy will return!
I wanna see the trio again. Sure the triangle is concluded and the result is Alto and Sheryl ending up together but I wanna see how they live their lives. And Ranka chan....I wanna see how far she's come now. |

I saw the ad and got pretty excited, but like magnuskn I won't get my hopes up just yet, I mean when they said "new movie" maybe they mean a new music video perhaps? we'll see this sunday I guess.
But hey, if it's something big like a new movie or series or something little like a new music video (probably for the new pachinko they announced) more Sheryl is always awesome!

Is this new Sheryl movie supposed to be the same thing, a separate thing, or a separate linked thing to the "new project" announced at that Walkure concert in January, which started this thread?
It occurs to me that a new anime altogether would be a fitting thing for an anniversary, but it is this year, 2017, that is the 35th anniversary of Macross. But I repeatedly hear that Macross Frontier was produced for Macross's 25th anniversary despite broadcasting in 2008. |

I guess I'll post this here even if it has nothing to do with the new series but the New Sheryl video was being discussed here, so...
Here it is: https://twitter.com/yuuya_jun/status/840798561356800000 Yeah, I think I need a moment Edit: Here's a youtube version

There's a better angle here:
I'm not sure if it's just the low quality masking things, but the CGI animation segments don't look as awkward as they did in the Nyan Clips? And god do I love Ebata Risa's art... Also after quick google searching, SANKYO does pachinko/slot machine type things don't they? It's likely this was made to be fitted into a machine in conjunction with all this anniversary stuff |

One can theorise on the health benefits of V-Type virus if it doesn't kill you.
Also, this being further along in the future meant that she technically isn't an idol anymore, and has graduated into being a "real singer". Most idols never managed to make that leap, but Sheryl did it.
