Sorry if this had been mentioned before, but I'm wondering if anyone discovered something curious when watching Macross Frontier.
The SDF2-Megaroad-01 is supposedly had vanished without a trace near the centre of the Galaxy, the very galaxy the Frontier is now approaching. However, if anybody watched closely the travel route of Megaroad-01 in the beginning of Episode one (The map route of the colonies departing from earth), it made for a south-west direction initially before make a U-turn towards the galaxy. But before the scene zooms towards the galaxy and the M-Frontier, the Megaroad-01 makes a sudden U-turn again heading towards West instead of the Galaxy. Any speculations made on this one yet? Spoiler:

According to the map, its no doubt megaroad-01. You can even follow it on yourself by watching it closely from the opening sequence where the ships departs from earth and keep an eye on it until the scene pans towards the Galaxy.
Whether the map reflects accurately or not, I do not know. But its interesting since the ship is supposedly to disappear near the centre of the galaxy in the year 2016(I think). But by basing on the map of the intro sequence, it never got to the milky way of the galaxy at all as it seems at the last moment, it took a different travel route. |

Megaroad-1 vanished in like 2019, IIRC - except its disappearance was kept secret from the public, which is why Macross DYRL was made - an in-universe movie about the thing, with the Megaroad-1 occasionally giving 'reports' to confirm its status. Nobody knows about this, save the higher-ups in the UN Spacy... and given their destination was approximately the same as Galaxy and Frontier's...

It shows all the paths of the colony fleets at once, the arrows for M.Frontier, Macross 7, and Megaroad-01 all leave earth at the same "time" on the camera, so obviously they're not going by the year in the background.
IIRC, communications were lost with Megaroad-1 in 2016, four years after it was launched. |

In light of episode 8.
Exotic Macross Universe Pets and creatures. Pets Gyuurarashi- These little tribbles with eyes are at the bottom of the food chain of their native planet. There only one notable Gyuurarashi though. Who was saved by Max Jenius. Mylene Jenius' pet Guvava who emotes the same mood as it's master. Zolan Snakes- These three eyed snakes wrap around a Zolan's neck usually asleep. Intelligent and can communicate with Zolans. Most interestingly Zolan Snakes can read Protoculture writting. Suggesting they are a Protoculture creation. Blue Cat-Dragon- Docile creatures that resemble and act like cats. Only that they are giant Zentradi sized pets. Tri-eyed green ferret- Not much data on the panty thieving critter but having three eyes speculation it is a Protoculture product like the Zolan snake. Livestock New Eden Chikens - Giant native chikens with horns and has the coloring of dairy cows. Cow-Hippo - Cute meat and dairy producing livestock for Zentrandi. Cow-hippo icescream is served at Frontier's Folmo Mall. Wildlife New Eden Saurobirds - Ranging from small to giant pteradactyl sized feathered birds. Resembles a pteradactyl. Pukirases Dinosaur - From the same planet as the Gyuurarashi , these dinosaurs eats hundreds of gyuuraashi to sate it's hunger. Pukirases Flying Manta Ray- Also from Pukirases and feeds on Gyuurarashi. Space Whales (Vahla Ena) - Giant kilometer long energy and flesh creatures. This is the only known form of life besides the Vajra that can fold on it's own. Every year they visit the planet Zola. Poachers, pirates and black marketeers targets these creature for their flesh. Not to eat them naturally but using their flesh for their fold drives. Fold drives with space whale by-products are much more efficient than regular fold drives. The UN Spacy's Galaxy Patrol consider these creatures a protected speacies. Thus a lifetime punishment for hunting them. |

About Megaroad-01, there was a good post on MacrossWorld about it a while back. I'll edit my post when I find it.
http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.ph...78&hl=Megaroad It's somewhere in there, it was by Morpheus or something. Last edited by Tabris; 2008-05-23 at 08:55. |

There are only two known contacts with the Vajra before 19 years ago and 11 years ago with the 117th Research fleet. But given the Lux and Varuta were Protoculture bases I'd say the core region is where most of the Stellar Republic resided. Earth was a backwater planet around the rim, so nobody notice us. |

Ok, I thought maybe I should finally watch Macross 7 so I downloaded the whole thing and what happens? I can barely get myself to watch the first episode! Basara is SO ANNOYING even just one episode in wtf!?
Can anyone tell me the episodes that put on emphasis on Max and Miliya? They're the reason I considered watching this in the first place because I wanted to see how their relationship has progress. Too many tv relationships just stop at a brick wall after they become an official couple/married etc. I thought it would be interesting to see how a couple develops AFTER that point but I really really don't want to watch Basara |

Lanis, I completely understand your pain, but bear with it. Macross 7 was, after all, aimed at a slightly younger generation. Although it does reveal some rather important information, and its nice to see Milia back in the game.

by the way did someone figure the direction that shin and sara go.
my theory is since Maybe Vajra attack thenm because there something that Protoculture hid on the core. somthing that thye don't wan't the other to found out

Nope nobody did.
The first time the fold drive was ever used was with the Macross. Not only did they take the entire island, its inhabitance, two warships and some of the ocean with them but their fold drive went puff. They had to crawl their way back to Earth. There were Protoculture ruins at Lux which was destroyed. Varuta was the prison of the Protodevlin. Both at the core region. But note that the core region is a pretty big place. The reason why fleets go there is that it has more star systems than the rim where Earth and Eden resides. |

one question I always wondered about, how often do the ships that get blow up in the fleet get replaced. I'm not talking about the Valks but rather the paper frigates that make up the fleet escort.
M7 they blew up all the time and MF seems to be following that trend. As far as I can tell the fleets don't have a large scale construction facility. |

A good assumption would be that their replacements usually come from Earth, or nearby colonies, given the advanced de-folding technologies they possess.
But to call them paper frigates may be a tad bit of an understatement. Seriously, to scrap one of those 'escorts' you generally have to fire a very big gun, or blow them up internally. Its not like Gundam where one shot from a bloody pulse rifle could disable a battleship for good. - Tak |
