I just spent like two days playing through Arcueid, Ciel, and Akiha's story lines... it's such a freaking long game... I'd like to play through Kohaku's but I know you need to do Hisui's first... and I've seen more than enough hints to think that I don't want to go there. (I have a fragile heart )

The game is weirdly addicting. I'd seen the anime like twice so it wasn't even all that interesting going through the two near side of the moon girls, but I just couldn't stop, lol... I did particularly liked Ciel's "good" ending

Lol, ciel's good ending is my favourite one too. Just because it was in my opinion the most happy one out of the nine. After finished kohaku's ending' i just had to cheer myself up by doing ciel's good ending again. Now i wish i could read Kagetsu Tohya in english. Since their is an patch out that translated some of the side stories but i m still curious about the main story in kagetsu tohya.

I hated Ciel's good ending. Mostly because I had just done Arc's route (and seen the anime, etc) and was trying to avoid Arc. And then she encroaches on Ciel's "good" ending. More like bad ending. Poor Ciel.

And of course Shiki (Roa) had strangled Kohaku and left her on the floor a few days ago. And this was never mentioned again. Somehow I couldn't quite swallow a happy-happy harem ending at that point.

Agreed. I somehow ended up getting Ciel's good first and was like '...wtf? That's it?' before I saw it was her good one. Nevertheless, I got her true one after all the others in the end because of the disappointment the ending left.

As for my favourite ending, it'd have to be either Hisui True or, and I'm probably alone on this one, Akiha True. I didn't like her that much initially but by the end of her route she was my favourite character, and still probably is. Mainly because it was so hopelessly tragic - Akiha gave up basically everything for Shiki since she was 8 years old and all he could go for her was give it all back at the expense of taking his own life, or leave her as good as dead. Hisui... yeah. I'm not even sure where to start on this one Kohaku's path on the whole probably hit me the hardest, but the way it ended was a bit too happy to fit.

I probably liked it because I'd just been through five dramatic endings, and the levity in Ciel's good ending came as a bit of a relief. But yes I don't think I would have appreciated it as my first ending

Surprising all the Good Ciel ending love in here. It was by far my least favourite ending out of all of them. Ironically, True Ciel is my favourite of all the endings, followed closely by True Hisui.

My problem with the Good Ciel ending is that it is more like an Arcrued ending rather than a Ciel one. It kind of sucks that you spend so much time with Ciel, then end up with Arcrued instead.

Anyhow, just my personal ranking of endings:
1) True Ciel
2) True Hisui

4) Good Hisui
5) Kohaku
6) Normal Akiha
7) Good Arc
8) True Arc

Just started this game and finished Ciel's ending (yay Ciel! <3) But it left me fairly confused. So here are the questions

Spoiler:

1. Okay, so Shiki becomes Roa in Ciel's route, so he draws his strength from becoming a vampire. In the anime, however, Shiki is the heir of this demon killing family or something like that. So where does Shiki truly gets his power from? Also, is he really a vampire? (not just the eye of death, but how his heart throbs and kills with more efficiency than his normal self)

2. If Shiki is the "ultimate killer" so to speak, does he gets his impulse from being a vampire or because he was borne like such? Or, let's say that his impulses are not mutually exclusive and derives from both impulses, does he gets certain impulse to kill certain things i.e. he was borne to kill vampires, but when he's Roa, he just gets to urge to kill something?

3. The player follows through Shiki's perspective in the game, but his alter ego is his "dream." This really left me confused. Is this alter ego Roa possession SHIKI (the real Tohno) or is the alter ego Shiki himself that has gone beserk? or, very unlikely that it is truly just his dream?

4. Okay, I'm going to assume a few things for this question. Since Shiki fought with Chaos before coming in contact with SHIKI (Roa), Shiki uses his own strength to kill Chaos (thus he fought with simply his alter ego). It almost seems impossible for Shiki to keep up the speed with Chaos, so does his alter ego also boost his speed and strength?

I have a feeling that different routes with answer these questions, but the different routes each have their individual stories and are not interconnected. Thanks for answering these questions.

If you've just done Ciel's route (hell, even if you'd done Arcueid and Ciel's) you've barely hit the tip of all the stuff about Shiki. All those questions should be answered in time

I finally understand why people say the anime does no justice to the game. While the anime does have a flair of mystery, its complexity is child's play compared to the game.

Theres not much info about Aoko in Tsukihime at all, unless you count side material that will never get translated into english.

All we know is shes one of 4 live modern magicians, the wielder of "blue" magic, whatever that is, that she can cast spells very efficiently mana wise, that she has "instaneous incantations" that is, IIRC, casting spells wtih a single word, that she had a falling out with her sister Touko because she stole her glasses(Touko retaliated by using Aoko's card to buy a ton of stuff from the association i think), and that she is a complete failure at anything except destruction sorcery. I also think she wanted the color "blue" in the mages association(top mages get a color) but was given red instead, and she hates being called by that color.

Anyone else get Ryoko Asakura vibes from Sacchin? Just the way that she had that happy expression on her face when she's killing people... Its too bad that she was such a short lived villain. Having completed the Arc route and being a ways into the Hisui route, she's my favorite villain so far.

As of finishing the Arc route and being a few days into the Hisui route:

Arcueid (mostly for her ditzy side) > Kohaku (too cute... why does she get only one ending? Did the developers not like her very much or something? ) > Hisui (can't say why, but she grew on me) > Sacchin (*points to above spoilers*) > Ciel (she's alright) > Akiha (she's alright too... I can't not compare her to her far superior rich sharp-eyed black haired tsundere F/SN counterpart though, despite their differences) > Nrvnqsr (I would not want to run into this guy in a dark alley... I laughed at him being in one of Ciel's classroom segments) > Arihiko (also alright) >>>>>>>>>> Roa (I mostly hate him for what he did at the end of that dead end chapter, but he pretty much sucks aside from that too)

I like all of them except for Roa.

Its kind of hard to put Shiki anywhere on that list... he has some badass moments (Shiki vs. Roa, round 3), he has some likable moments, he has long periods of time where he's just meh, and he has some moments that piss me off. I can't decide whether I like him or not.

(I was actually going to do Ciel's route last, since after finishing Hisui's route, she was my least favorite of the bunch, but I started looking for Arcueid CGs that I was missing and found myself on Ciel's route in the process)

Goddamn, Hisui's true ending is one of the most depressing things that I've seen in a while. That would have killed the mood for the next hour if I hadn't immediately gone back in and gotten the good ending.

Spoiler for Ciel's route:

I liked Ciel before doing her route, but that route completely changed my opinion of her.

Instead of being a brainwashed zealot that believed that all vampires were dangerous and never took the individual into account, and Arcueid vs. Ciel being a case of relatively harmless true ancestor vampire vs. stubborn vampire hunter that just needs to wake up, she seems to blame Arcueid what the church did to her, and makes a point to start conflict even when Arcueid just wants to cooperate. Instead of being a professional that came to the city to hunt vampires, she's on a quest to become an hero. Instead of being a good person at heart, she's a cold hearted bitch that needed a commited show of non-violence and a speech to even get her to consider to stop trying to kill someone that viewed her as a close friend and potential lover and was reaching out to her for help when he felt that there was nowhere else to turn. And then, after she realizes that she loves Shiki and all of those events play out and Arcueid gives Shiki the means to get out of the situation with his will intact, Ciel continues to treat her like trash.

She was okay when she was "acting" and between the speech and Arcueid's next appearance, but it wasn't enough to redeem her from her flaws. (there's the "Teach Me, Ciel-Sensei!" skits, but she's out of character in those, so those don't count)

Bottom line, after Ciel's route...

Arcueid > Kohaku > Hisui > Akiha >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ciel
