The majority of the chapter is Gojo talking to other dead characters in the afterlife (though he says it could just be his imagination). Yup, Gojo is dead. Cut clean in half. I don't fully get how it works, but basically, Mahoraga adapted to Gojo's infinity by becoming able to cut space and it allowed Sukuna to do the same.

Chapter ends with thunder guy entering.

Sukuna didn't even need to use Yorozu's gift or his "open" to win. Gojo even admits that Sukuna was stronger than him and he regrets not being able to have him give it his all.

I told you guys, although I didn't expect such an abrupt death. I thought Gojo would at least force Sukuna to activate his hidden cursed technique(s).

My problem is severe lack of process and how it feels like ... "turned out nothing happened"

As usual mentor character, I already expected Gojo will be either die or lose access to Infinity somehow, with process.
What we got is offscreen kill with nothing indicated Gojo tried to defend himself or dodging the attack? After 10 chapters being wary of what Sukuna may have on his sleeve and last chapter mentioned about spark that can be sensed by top-class sorcerers and can be used as way to gauge enemy attack?

I can understand Kenjaku won against Yuki because Geto skillset do allow him to have various techniques and he already used gravity against Choso.
This one? What's the point of narrating Black Flash recovered 100% Gojo output and Sukuna currently on low CE he became nervous about Purple being lethal if it settled with, "Actually, Sukuna is super strong".

Now I don't know how Yuji and Yuta can stand a chance against Sukuna and Kenjaku without some divine intervention.

While it was clear Gojo couldn't put down Sukuna for good, I expected him to cripple and handicap him far worse (like separating him from Megumi). At this point all Gojo did was cost him Mahoraga, which Sukuna might be able to resummon.

I'm hoping Gojo has a second wind and pulls something off because as it is, I can't see anyone else standing a chance against Sukuna if he bites the bullet here

if I'm understanding this correctly, Mahoraga cut Gojo when Purple went off, so they both took each other out and they're just doing the delayed reaction trope?

Or did Mahoraga just retcon reality and now we're in a timeline where it killed Gojo before Purple ever went off?

Mahoraga is gone. And it's neither of those.

Sukuna cut Gojo off-panel after last week's ending. Gojo probably didn't bother avoiding because he thought Sukuna had no way to bypass his infinity now, just like the peanut gallery did. However, Mahoraga's second adaptation provided him with an answer he could use to bypass infinity and greatly enhance the cutting power of his CT.

Mahoraga initial adaptation to Infinity is to disable Infinity barrier whenever Mahoraga is close-range (see: Gojo vs. Mahoraga & Agito & Sukuna).
Sukuna not satisfied with that; turned out Mahoraga can adapt multiple times per attack instead of one times per attack as we saw by Megumi usage of it.
When Gojo right arm got cut, its not Mahoraga learned Cleave so it attack can reach from long-range for more options but indication of Mahoraga obtained dimensional slash.

Sukuna use his ability to learn jujutsu mechanic ASAP to copy Mahoraga dimensional slash with his own Cleave.

Still doesn't make sense if Gojo unaware of it.

He knew Sukuna can copy techniques, DE recovery and Piercing Blood (water version) should tell him enough.

The only explanation is it come so fast to the point he unable to react to it.
However in Shibuya we saw Mahoraga have no issue deflecting Cleave which mean the speed is manageable on Gojo caliber; its not like Mahoraga will be able to cut Gojo arm without Agito distracted him. Rikugan also allowed its user to observe cursed energy on extreme details, not to mention narration about CE Spark last chapter. Even if its too late, he should at least capable to sense impending danger.

Imo having op characters like Gojo is a narrative dead end from the get-go. We knew from the start that no one but prime Sukuna is a challenge to him and that's why they had to remove him from the story and could only bring him back to face the only character that can defeat him.

Honestly, the better choice was to have Gojo win and then Kenjaku backstab him.

What a terrible conclusion to this hyped fight.

The off-screen element of the finisher really ruins it for me.

But before that the execution itself. How can you go from the end of Chapter 235 to the chapter's first pages telling you that Gojou lost and died? It's like a chapter is missing.

Then Gojou rubs salt in the wound that even without the Ten Shadows, he probably wouldn't have beaten Sukuna because Sukuna still didn't go all out. How could have Sukuna pull of that ultimate slash any other way or let alone be a serious threat without Makora and the adaption shenanigans?

The ultimate slash is plausible within all the Sukuna bullshit, but I still going to consider it as a cheap asspull move to get Gojou out of the picture. All thanks to the off-screen element and Sukuna going "Well, actually..." compared to all the panic he displayed last chapter.

What a horrible way to close the fight.

But one last thing: I think the brain damage Sukuna got from Unlimited Void is going to stay, so Gojou at least accomplished that, and probably hindered or made his Domain usage impossible against the remaining opponents.

After reading the translation, I really don't like how much Gojo wanks Sukuna. The only way to defeat him will be through an asspull. I bet Yuji will awaken his mother's cursed technique and it will turn out to be the perfect counter to Sukuna. Maybe the ability to cancel or absorb cursed energy, explaining why he made such a good prison for Sukuna.

Considering Gojo got Yamamoto'd with Mahoraga being the "Wonderweiss", pick your poison:

- Yuji ended up inherit Sukuna's, Kenjaku's and his mother CT, might as well let him ate all cursed items and tools beforehand.
- Yuji ate the last Sukuna finger to finally obtain his CT then made deal with Kenjaku to take down Sukuna together.

I bet next part Kashimo going to talk about how his DE allowed him to dodge Cleave only for Sukuna to tell dimensional Cleave can crush DE as good as MS, if not better.

Didn't Yuji and Kusakabe swap bodies during their sparring session in chapter 222?

I don't think that was Kusakabe's technique, so wouldn't it be Yuji's? He also sounded like he already had a plan to rescue Megumi but couldn't because they still had to deal with Sukuna.

If I remember correctly, Nanami died the same week his voice was first heard in a PV.

Nobara "died" the same week she debuted in the anime. The first Opening also has a transition scene with Mahito, where seemingly his hand is going towards Nobara and is seen from an eyeview. The fourth Opening has a self-explanatory Nobara scene.

And now this... A lot of people expeted Gojou to get screwed over the same week Touji "finished him off". Instead it's the Prison Realm episode.

Not sure if Yuuji has a plan or not, but the body swap or soul swap was noted by the readers. Yuuji did receive Yuki's research about the soul, so maybe that's going to be his cursed technique or something.

If you look into anime and Gege break schedule, it became more obvious they're fully intended to match the timing for several events from start; another interesting part, Junichi Suwabe (Sukuna's VA) made Tweet about an infinity symbol get cut into half after last chapter (Kusakabe declared Gojo win), which people thought to be random act turned out ...

By that logic ... Let's see ... for major fight anime still got Zenin Family vs. Dagon, Yuji vs. Choso, Sukuna vs. Jogo, Sukuna vs. Mahoraga and Yuji (& Todo) vs. Mahito.

Now that you say it, Yuta's fights in Games were done in the same weeks that Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was released in cinemas.

I had forgotten about that. I guess if mastered it would enable Yuji to force Sukuna into his body again.
