Um???
It is entirely because they're fictional that it's okay to nonchalantly wish for their demise LOL? And given there are actual death flags on this promo I don't see what's so ridiculous to point out given I'm pretty sure the same speculations were made during the Frontier second movie wait given like...ever progressing sickness and unconscious bride teaser. But yeah no it's totally because of ship wars. That must be it. I mean, the ship wars were just so intense and engaging after all. Last edited by ippus; 2017-12-04 at 22:36. |

And yeah, i told you it's a dream not because of shipping, i simply think she or any Walkure member won't die in the movie because they still have live concert aka business reason(it will super weird one or some of them died then announce more live concert of Walkure lol). So what i think is, Hayate can die, Mirage can die, all non-Walkure characters can die, but not any Walkure members, because from last episodes crappy final battle and strange "celebration dance" scene, to this "Walkure and their not so important pilot friends" poster, Macross Delta basically told everyone all non-Walkure characters are irrelevant, because they don't sell money, even the VF sell more money(so the poster at least had Delta team VF there), right? At the same time, i don't think any people who watch this show not for Walkure will still put many energy in it, i mean, the staff abandoned them(including me anyway), so why care so much about it? But still, i'm fan of Macross series, so all i can say is i hope Delta movie won't end up become Justice League-tier movie lol. |

And I also said that the whole situation reminded me of the whole Ranka fans attacking Sheryl. It's just a throwback thought/memory, there's no need to put too much thought into it. @Tak: Shhhh, the protoculture miracle exists in my heart and that's all that matters to me. If I believe hard enough, it soothes my soul On the other hand, if Delta does pull a miracle in the movie, you bet your ass I'll be fist bumping the air and singing ave maria with tears running down my cheeks.

Although I wasn't into Frontier or Macross in general back then, I did get to see from afar how wild the whole shipping situtation was. T'was pretty intense, I have vivid memories from a RL friend being very vocal about it. And I thought my Shugo Chara shipping phase was intense.... I think it was better that this time around the shipping wasn't so pronounced (for better or for worse). Although I agree that it was bad that Mirage was sidelined because of it. I do hope that she gets a better development in the movie. And my biggest pet peeve: That we never got the whole "Hayate going VAR but then not anymore" resolved. Power of his love for Freyja that he magically got it under control (since I remember in episode 24 he was still hurting)? Did him confessing trigger his alphaness over VAR? And Mikumo as well, what else can she do aside from brain killing people in the Universe? I was waiting for my shinpi goddess miracle for her to use her voice and magically reverse windermere ageing.

Welp.
Did Delta sell any good in domestic Japanese market to get a movie? Cant believe it. Well, the teaser does nothing, though the armored version looks decent. I dunno, this "thing" that has the name Macross in it, will have to do something really good for me to care. Not that matters that I care, but well, this being a forum and all that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |

Majority of the better Delta stuff seem to be reserved for sale during LIVE concerts and like...popup event stores / galleries. It's really hard to tell how well those do but the concerts themselves supposedly sell out well enough. Oh...they DID however launch a mobile game on the back of this series and micro transactions in general are pretty beastly? Granted they advertised that game by sticking in all the prior characters / songs so it's not so much a feat for Delta...but it's money in nonetheless @D-Joe: Lol you didn't really need to explain yourself (unless it was directed at others) because honestly Delta has a tendency to repeatedly disappoint me soooo yeahhhhhh. Also my issue on ships weren't directed at you XD As for whether Delta does well, I honestly don't care nor do I really see it as being a possibility. They would have achieved far more by doing an add on story rather than a complete retelling of already portrayed events. I mean, the series was the long format of their convoluted mess that was still somehow also unsatisfying bare bones. A shorter format medium doesn't fix the problems of Delta. At this point I'm just waiting for the new Macross to be better and if that doesn't do well either I'll just wait for the one after that. Or watch another anime. Or series. Or puppets. Thunderbolt Fantasy is great. |

There’s a whole bunch of Macross classes this time rather than just Chaos’. Least I have something to look forward to.
Also mostly looks like a battle movie. Keith is still missing an eye, things don’t look positive for Messer (or Freyja) and Reina (why do I get the feeling Bogue is behind that). Roid still sounds like the main villain. Whelp I guess I just have to wait and see. Least I get to look forward to more than one Macross class this time around. Plus some more JUNNA~ Here was done fantastically. |

So from that trailer it seems like Walkure will be blamed and maybe persecuted for something, kinda like what happened to Sheryl in the second Frontier movie, there will be more Macross class ships or at least more Elysion type ship (is the Elysion a Macross class ship or is it a new ship class? did we get an answer to that?).
Now about the valkyries, apparently Hayate will use his dance moves in battle with his VF-31J, and Messer will get Little Drakens atached to his VF-31F. Also going by Messer's dialogue in the trailer (which is exactly the same from when he dies) he won't survive this time either and with that my interest for this movie has plummeted, because the chance of him surviving was one of the few things that made me care about the movie, the others are Feyja dying and Windermere getting a great defeat, so we'll see if one or both of those happen in the end.
