It wasn't the Nazis who stole the grail, as has been explained in episode 1. Darnic enlisted their help before crossing them over and stealing the grail for himself, as Sheba has already said.

When it was revealed that the red knight is Mordred I went "Oh shit..."

Because anyone who knows the basics of the Fate series know Mordred's history here.

The implication I got is that he stole it while it was en route to wherever the Nazis were moving it to.

We really do need some kind of adaptation of the Third Grail War. Apoc version or "prime" canon version (with Easter egg hints as to where Apoc branched off), either way I'd be happy.

Yeah, he sounds like Indiana Jones if Jones actually accomplished something other than getting captured and letting the enemy to kill themselves while doing nothing other than closing his eyes .

Oh, then I should've quoted quigonkenny's post, not yours. *edited* Yup. Now that's better.

Hmm~

So 15 pairs of characters to focus on? Seems like too much. With all these mages and servants being pulled out and dispensed with as if they're pokemon or something, the story lacks the severity of the original.

I wish both factions just agreed to rent out an arena, then summon their servants one by one and have them duel. I could see those old-fashioned mages doing it...it'd be fun and easier to understand than this war.

I'm a fanboy though, and it's a season without masterpieces so I'll watch.

Nah, mages never were into whole this fair and square thing. Especially not old fashioned ones. Magi always use any means available to win... as long as it doesn't involve muggle tech of course.

I mean, there are always some going rogue, such as the Yggdmillennia in this story. But I thought most of the association magi were straight arrows like Kayneth and Tokiomi.

And Keineth would never agreed with arena settings unless he believed he has absolute advantage. World of Magi is kill or be killed, no honour but huge amount of pride. Each family guarding their know how as greatest secret while trying steal secrets of others and disposing anyone who is in their way.

Right, I suppose the only way they would agree is if they could leave all the fighting to the servant. That way they could have a shot at the grail without risking everything in an unregulated war. But that would be boring.

Magi tend to have a very odd way of understanding the world. They don't value human lives the same way 'regular' people do. Not even their own lives.
