I wonder if Mishima Kurone was inspired by Kill la Kill's Ryuko when designing the girl's uniforms of Akashic Records.
I don't recall the LNs saying the uniforms were belly-revealing, only they were light-fitting and very recognisable.

Probably before. Iirc she was over 100 when she found him. This kind of situation tends to happen when the character is at the age they look like.

Funny how you should say that.

I like how this series tries to explain magical constructs in a traditional sense. I'd like to stick around for some developments here.

Also, there's an argument in some distant place about whether or not this is a battle harem. How those guys think it ain't one, I wonder why. Maybe it diverges from the usual formula, but seeing the first few scenes makes it so like it is one. It's got most of the things in check:

A nondescript guy mentored by some old hag(no offense to Celica)enters a highly advanced magical institute where most of the students are girls, then he gets challenged by a haughty mistress, usually from some high class family. Then other girls show up.

So, yeah. Insights on this?
