Everything You Need to Know About Eisenhorn, the Peculiar Star of the Live-Action Warhammer 40K TV Series: "The fact that it’s somehow taken until 2019 for Games Workshop to attempt to bring the rich, ridiculous fiction of its grimdark Warhammer 40,000 universe to live-action is peculiar enough. That Gregor Eisenhorn is the face of that long-awaited push, even more so. Need a quick trip to the Black Library to brush up on him? We’ve got you covered." The best Warhammer 40,000 movie ever is being made
by one dedicated fan: "For the past year a professional contract 3D artist has been quietly making the best Warhammer 40,000 film yet created. Astartes, funded by this Patreon, is planned to be a five-part CGI miniseries about a small scale ship-to-ship engagement between a Space Marine detachment and some traitorous guardsmen. It's wordless, moody, and perfect." See: https://www.pcgamer.com/the-best-war...dedicated-fan/ |

Marvel's First Warhammer 40K Comic Is All About the Ultramarines:
"Eight months after it was first announced that Games Workshop had cut a deal with Marvel Comics to create a new series set in the worlds of Warhammer 40,000 and its fantasy equivalent, Age of Sigmar, the two companies have finally lifted the lid on the first project to come out of the deal. Unsurprisingly, it’s a series dedicated to the most popular chapter of the most popular faction in 40K: the Ultramarines, of the Space Marines. Specifically, it’s about Marneus Calgar, the Chapter Master of the Ultramarines who was also the first Space Marine to undergo the genetic enhancement to become a Primaris Space Marine, which, in 40K’s vast lore, is a Space Marine But Better." Unsolved mysteries of the Warhammer 40k universe with
loremaster Dan Abnett "This time, we're sitting down with author Dan Abnett to discuss some unsolved mysteries of the dark far-future Warhammer universe—and man, did he deliver." "We fielded our questions from a variety of places, including the /r/Warhammer40k and /r/40kLore subreddits, which resulted in what might generously be described as a lot of material. We were a little nervous about asking Dan to go through almost a dozen pages of far-out 40k geekery, but Dan—whose blessed pen is clearly guided by the will of the Emperor himself—laughed at our giant list and then more or less tore through all of them." Warhammer 40k Fans in Revolt Over 'Zero Tolerance' Fan
Animation Policy "In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war between fan communities and the corporations that own the intellectual property they love. The Warhammer 40k community is furious at Games Workshop, the tabletop game’s creator, because of new “zero tolerance” policies about fan-made animation videos." "At issue is an update to Games Workshop’s intellectual property guidelines. The new policies explicitly laid out the dos and don'ts of how the company wants fans to handle Warhammer 40K and its other universes. At the bottom, it detailed a list of infringements it has a “zero tolerance” policy towards. It includes pirating books, using a 3D printer to make copies of their models, and a ban on fan animations. “Individuals must not create fan films or animations based on our settings and characters,” the guidelines said. “These are only to be created under licence from Games Workshop.”" See: https://www.vice.com/en/article/3aq4...imation-policy |

Warhammer 40K’s Creators Needed to Renounce Real Monsters
Long Ago "Earlier this month, the GT Talavera Warhammer tournament—a major competitive event in the Spanish wargaming community calendar, but not one officially organized by Games Workshop—found itself mired in controversy when an entrant allegedly under the pseudonym “Pintor Austriaco” (Spanish for “Austrian Painter,” a thinly veiled reference to Adolf Hitler) participated in games while wearing clothing depicting Nazi imagery. Organizers of GT Talavera—the wargaming club “El Cobrador del Waaagh” (“The Waaagh Collector,” named for the battle cry of 40K’s space orks)—allegedly ignored player complaints to remove the neo-Nazi from play, even purportedly awarding them wins when other competitors withdrew rather than play against someone unironically wearing fascist imagery. After the controversy gained ground in the English-language Warhammer community in the last few weeks, El Cobrador del Waaagh provided a statement to the tabletop gaming site Spikey Bits, declaring its stance against fascism in all forms, but defending its decision to allow a fascist to keep participating in their tournament in order to avoid “committing a crime of ideological discrimination.” The Spanish-language community’s statement, presented to Spiky Bits in English, reads in part:" See: https://gizmodo.com/warhammer-40k-s-...ste-1848090547 |

Jilted Witcher And Superman Actor Henry Cavill Is Doing A Warhammer 40K Series
"Leading Hollywood big bod man Henry Cavill is working with Amazon to produce and star in a Warhammer 40,000 series. The mega corporation has secured the rights to the tabletop miniatures game about aliens, demons, and religious fascists, and it sounds like the former face of The Witcher’s Geralt and DC’s Superman will now try his hand at turning one of the most niche nerd franchises into the the streaming wars’ latest overpriced boondoggle. “Amazon is in final talks for the rights to the game, produced by Games Workshop, after months of negotiations and fending off rival companies that also sought the rights,” The Hollywood Reporter reported on Thursday. Cavill would be set to produce and star in the potential project, while Vertigo Entertainment (Barbarian, Don’t Worry Darling) is signed on as an executive producer."
