Last 2 weeks ago marked the 10th anniversary of Kuro no Maou web novel a.k.a Black Demon King. The author has now completed 10 years of writing this series.
The first chapter was released on 14th May 2011. Currently the web novel has 827 chapters.
He also mentioned that he would hope to reach the end of this series before the 20th anniversary.

That is extremely optimistic considering the current speed. I would bet that this novel would be dropped way before it.

Nero is moving his armies towards Pandemonium.

Kurono wants them to enter Atlas Desert. Once they are there, Lily will use her powers to bury them in the quicksand.

But the trip to Atlas Desert is long, and Nero will ruin several countries along the way...

Kurono: it's okay if the other countries fall, we will take their people as refugees, and strengthen our own country.

While Nero is away, Kurono decides they can use this opportunity to capture Avalon and save Nell.
Kurono intends to kill the 12th Apostle Mariabel, the only Apostle left in Avalon, and destroy the Holy Grail of Aria.
King Milliard has decided that once Kurono conquers Avalon he will have his daughter Nell married off to Kurono.

Well while we're discussing the latest events.

Apparently the Grail that Mariabel possess has the same value/power of an apostle, so it'll be like fighting two apostles.
Mariabel himself is a summoner who lost most of his summons during his previous fight with the crew on top of being a novice apostle himself, so his summons should still be recuperating and gathering new ones. One he's trying to gather even is Avalon's fire priestess, Belklausen (or Bel), an ancient? black dragon. So she's on a time clock before she gets completely infested and tamed by White but her Black is putting a good fight at slowing it down. Now of course Kurono will ideally stop this, save her and she'll join the cause and 'finally meet' her Maou/Overlord.
But as nothing ever goes as the main characters plan it in this author's works, who knows. Even if things do go as planned, she already promised Nell she wouldn't go after Kurono (heh) and yanderes typically don't get along with other women, let alone fellow yanderes. Hell, even in the seemingly comparatively easy-to-win Mariabel fight, it'll probably end up being a barely scraped-together victory like usual, especially since no Lily for it. Doesn't help we still don't know what the grail is even supposed to do, so it's easy turnaround card for the enemy.

Speaking of which, Lily also seems to have found someone that is probably Fiona's sister that I don't think has as much been hinted at, who is the priestess of the sun goddess temple in Rune, which is some sort of important naval nation that the crew allied. But as we know yanderes don't get along with other women, especially sisters so odds are nothing 'nice' will come of this.
Interestingly, it seems Kurono's sister's descendants are here, one being a telepathic aide to the king, and the other being a fujoshi princess who hides behind thick glasses likely due to her having the same 'glare' Kurono has. Lily's probably gonna try to trick her into wedding Kurono like she just did to Avalon's king with Nell. Or try to get Fiona's sister to do so to indirectly harass Fiona.

I don't even remember how big Kurono's harem is anymore, with all these promises Lily keeps making on his behalf about it. The Spardan princess will likely being one of the political ones in the end, but damn if her love life situation isn't complicated.

Besides the ongoing web novel is there any update on the Kuro no Maou Light novels. There has been no information regarding volume 8. Volume 7 was released back in 2019. It's been more than 2 years.
Has the light novel been cancelled due to low sales or has it been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic?

I have begun translating the Kuro no Maou light novels since this series may never get licensed by an official english publisher.
Currently I am translating volume 1 during my free time.
I purchased volume 1 (kindle version) from Amazon.
There are some changes the author has done to the light novels when compared to the original web novel.

It will take a while but I will send an update once I finish it.
I will try to translate as accurately as possible.

The Black Dragon Bergrosen is heavily injured, affected by the Apostle's powers. She asks Kurono to kill her.

Kurono needs to fly in order to reach Apostle Mariabel up in the sky. He offers to heal the dragon.

Bergrosen has lived since the ancient times and belongs to an artificial batch of dragons. Her OP powers can only be activated by making a contract with someone who has Mia's Blessing.

She makes the contract for healing, becoming Kurono's familiar, and immediately notices the power. She starts evolving... loli no more?

One down.
Took forever just to dethrone Sariel, took even longer to actually kill a weaker apostle.

Now to see how easy they really are to replace.
Author's hinted there's some sort of requirements to make an apostle, maybe per seat even.

Also looking forward to the Bel-Nel interaction seeing as Bel promised to not go after Nel's man.

Re read the entire story up to the raws. Seriously, if we excluded the writing speed, the thing that drags down the story the most for me was Nero. I really hope author kills him off soon.

The Church continues its conquest...

The crusaders have defeated the army of Faren (dark elf country, located south of Spada) and are heading towards the capital.

Only Kurono can save them now (teleport everyone to Pandemonium, again?)

From among the strong enemies only Apostle Ai is in Faren, so maybe our heroes will use this opportunity to defeat her (though, she may escape considering she can possess other people...)

The lack of information regarding Nero is disappointing... We haven't seen any reaction from him even though Kurono has conquered his home country (!!!).

One possibility: the Church conquers Faren and joins Nero who is further south in Parthia, and together they go on a lengthy march towards Kurono's desert country...
