How is starring in a porn movie that was sold legally even remotely related to her private life? It's completely different from previous cases. Having sex in private is one thing, getting paid to have sex on camera with a stranger is another entirely. If the same thing had happened in a western country, the scandal would have been just as big. Mainstream entertainment anywhere scorns porn actresses. Most producers do not want to be associated with that kind of business. I can count the number of porn actresses that managed to become successful on one hand.

As one of the forumers stated, you can't pull off a Kim Kardashian in Japan. It just won't happen.

Hardcore otaku demand female seiyuu to remain virgins until retirement (good luck getting any kids past 35), plain and simple as that.

Kayano Ai's new series is being shown on the animate Times YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_o4eGTy4atk

Titled "Kayanomi", the program basically follows Kayanon as she visits sake breweries, samples various brews, and talks with members of the industry and other fellow sake enthusiasts. She'll also teach us proper sake etiquette. The animate Times will most likely upload future episodes on their channel.

Remember Mitsuhiro Ichiki, the guy who got trolled in Kokorogate?

He was actually a professional King of Fighters player before he became a seiyuu. He was supposed to be bound for EVO, until Kokorogate happened.

As one of our LL Discord Chat members put it, "Why become a seiyuu if you have enough skill to be on EVO?"

Even if Taneda's illness isn't life-threatening, I sure do hope that this doesn't hurt her career very much. Goto Yuko pretty much never had a major anime role since her long-term illness lead to cancellation after cancellation, so I hope this isn't the start of a worrying trend for Taneda.

Yeah, I'm very sad, as I do think Taneda is the best overall major actress right now. She took it from Nakahara Mai who herself until recently hasn't had a lead heroine role since Humanity has Declined, around the time Taneda really impressed me with her major debut in Shin Sekai Yori. Her ability to play a myriad of roles from the genki kouhai (remember the 'senpai' year with Mirai and Yukina? XD) to a tsundere whose voice doesn't annoy me to hell (Yuri and Nakiri); from relatively subdued girl who doesn't feel at all boring (Kuroneko and Yatori), to the really haughty ojousama Satouin who IMO stole the show, Taneda Risa is the actress who has the widest range of roles that I enjoy out of all of them.

Best of luck to her and her treatment. Even my favourite VAs like HanaKana and Ayane Sakura doesn't have the range of roles I enjoy from Taneda. She will be really missed in the meantime; hope she makes a full recovery.

God, I'm not sure what to say.

I learned of the news while checking news on FGO, and I am just worried an sad now. I really like her roles and think she is talented, and I hope it's nothing life threatening.

Read the news before and it saddened me.

Taneda Risa is one my unquestioned favourite seiyuu along with Kayano Ai. Taneda has such a classy and refined voice, that can be played as sexy (Gate) or clumsy/funny (Gochuumon/Kiniro) or mature (ShinSekai Yori) or energetic (Strike the Blood), just to mention a few. Truly a jack of all trades. Her career is still relatively young as well.

I hope that she fully recovers, whether that will mean being still able to be a voice actress or not. Health comes first, then if she'll be able to be back on voice works, I'll be doubly happy.
