They should be able to. Tatsuya's mind may not register lust but his body can react under the right stimulation. It is the same as with women's bodies reacting despite being raped. The body doesn't always act the same as the mind expects it to.

It's not a likable example but it gets the point across. The body doesn't always react the same way that the mind wants it to. Tatsuya's mind doesn't allow him to feel lust so he won't actively seek it out. The body though is capable of acting independently of the mind so it can still feel it even when the mind says that it shouldn't.

So you really think that with at least 4 volumes out, the final romantic pairing(s) of the main characters are finalized? In this unpalatable union? (And it's an explicit Miyuki shipper saying that)

I don't see all ships sinking. Particularly not Mayumi's.

I have read and watched stories of various kinds and found certain trend in some countries eg US authors strays from how they start the story(transformers the biggest one) in such I found japanese twisting their story at the end.At first the story progesses smoothly by following a straight line then curves and eventually twists in the end eg SAO
guess even Mahoua author isn't so special( not atm with theses spoilers that is)

It's the twist everyone was expecting though. Don't know how early the Maya being Tatsuya's mother theory sprang up but it was probably somewhere around volume 8. The fiance thing I personally said that makes a lot of sense at the end of last volume, and probably a lot of other people as well.
Even Miyuki being modified had some foreshadowing in volume 8 when her memory sort of blacked out when thinking about Tatsuya, if you take it that way. Also the fact that they're able to manipulate each others psions, even considering that they're siblings.
The dead fiance just being a Sati/Parvati parallel.

Almost, if not all of these revelations were somehow predictable.
