Atm, the most effective team I have is a Hu Tao vape team, with a dendro character just for the Dendro Hypo's revive phase.

I think she is, Shinobu doubles as a healer and aggravate/hyperbloom reaction enabler.

Mine is built with both high HP and 900+ EM, and hyperblooms triggered by her deal around 30k each.

Thanks for that info. For now, would stack up HP first on Shinobu. EM can wait until the domain which has the Viridescent set gives out decent artifacts. AR is still too low on the server where I got her.

edit: just realized I could not even ascend her, since the items are in Inazuma. Oh well..

At least it's not just me It probably would have been a good idea for them to have one of those dendro charged-shot things in the area to solve this issue for people who make this mistake (unless there was one there and I just missed it). Wouldn't be the fastest, but it at least would be a way rather than just running out, having it reset, and starting over.

And yeah, not hard to take down, really, but you get to the end and you're like "oh..." lol

When it comes to banner pulls, as I usually stick to being a F2P player, I only do one 10 Wish pull when a new one appears (and it features a character that I would try to include to my team).

With the current banner, I managed to get Nahida with that one pull.

This is how I built my Shinobu. She has Iron Sting equipped.

congrats, that's one tough Shinobu you have there. Must have taken awhile to get those EM artifacts.

took me almost 3 months to get acceptable Viridescent EM artifacts for Sucrose. She's at 700+ EM now.

It might be just my luck ,but Deep Wood Domain actually drop many EM Artifacts.

For Off-field Hyperbloom Kuki Shinobu, you can easily just put any EM artifacts on her. Look for HP% and Energy Recharge sub-status if possible ,but you can ignore ATK, Crit rate/Crit dmg on them.

Make sure you level her up to 90 as well. Hyperbloom scale a lot with level. At level 80 with 800 EM, it will deal around 17-19K dmg, but at level 90 with 800 EM, it will deal 28-30k+ dmg.

Viridescent domain is very stingy in terms of giving out 5-star EM. Even after 3 months of almost daily grind, not one EM circlet has dropped (lol). It did give two 5-star goblets and the same with sands, so I was able to equip both Sucrose and Sayu.

I appreciate the tips on Shinobu. She would have to wait though. Got her on Asia server, and my characters there are still in Mondstadt. Only AR 31. And I always level up characters that I use to the highest that the AR will allow, because I like fighting in Spiral Abyss.

I still have the character quest to do, probably tomorrow. I have lots of thoughts that I'll probably capture later as well, but on the whole I'm satisfied with the plot resolution. I feel like maybe they should have introduced those elements in the domain before so that you were already familiar with the basics before going into the boss fight. That said, I didn't find the story boss fight that difficult regardless (but haven't tried it in weekly boss mode yet either).

(Technically there is a loose end there that purposefully isn't cleared up yet, but we already know that the resolution to that point is coming as well in the next patch.)

Anyway, on the whole, I definitely feel they took the feedback to heart, and the pacing and presentation of the Archon quest here is significantly improved. They've raised the bar for the next region (although of course there's still more patches to come).

By the way, I'd estimate around 4 hours for the Archon quest if you watch all the cutscenes in full. Even though it's one act, it's easily double the length of all the previous acts, so it could have been 5+6 if they wanted to split it.

While Sumeru MSQ was definitely better than Liyue and Inazuma, I think MHY writers still missed few things that should have been addressed compared to the previous region arcs

The execution/transition to the climax was decent, but the conclusions were mostly jarring. I honestly think they shouldn't have made Nahida returning to Sumeru City as an offscreen moment. It would have made much more sense to show the actual god descended to them, chastise the sages and then get celebrated by her followers. They pretty much made her return as an afterthought where you had to observe the populace reaction with her character quest, which is questionable.

Likewise, I'm not too sure about the way they handled Scaramouche after his defeat. It felt a bit too easy without much food for thought since you only know his actual status during Nahida's infodump. Prior that, I was wondering if there was going to be any kind of rematch with his Harbinger form since he didn't need any Gnosis prior his ascension to the divine. So right after the fight, he just fell on the ground then everyone just forgot about him instead of making sure he wasn't going to hound them again shortly after.

Additionally, I still think the whole adventure in the desert felt like a huge side quest instead of being integral part of the Sumeru arc. The traveler does learn about the truth about King Deschret and Rukkhadevata but this knowledge just happened to be there. It wasn't really something the proganists had a hunch beforehand and it became just a coincidence which allowed them to have more allies in the process. From the moment Nahida was sealed by Dottore, there wasn't really any clear objective that should lead them to the desert in order to topple the Sages' dominion.

Finally, a pet peeve of mine: I still can't stomach the way how they present the traveler. It was quite awkward to read their discussion with Scaramouche even though we had voiced thought process in the previous patch but also voiced lines when they try to wake Nahida up later on. At this point, they should just stop with the pointless choices (and reduce Paimon's needless mouthpiece moments while we are at it) and make them an actual character.

I also got trolled by the Dendro cube. This is probably the least intuitive gimmick among all bosses thus far. It literally force you to fight the boss with 3 characters and a benchwarmer.

1. Jean is gimmicky at best for DPS. She is better as a flexible healer that can apply VV set debuff and interrupt enemies with either the initial knockback of her skill or the vacuum effect of it.
2. Most characters work the same at that kind of AR: just use the best offensive ones with the best dps stats regardless of the set. Otherwise, Berserker or Martial artist set.
3. As for her best non gacha weapon, prototype rancour is pretty much the only viable choice to a certain degree.

hmm, I have plenty of Martial Artist, so would probably go with that.

the sword is a bit more difficult. Nilou is using the only Proto Rancour, so temporarily Jean might have to use a 3 star sword.

Since Nilou scales exclusively on HP and EM through reactions, it doesn't really matter that much what you give to her. Harbinger of Dawn, Dark Iron Sword and Iron Sting should be more appropriate.

I can agree with your criticisms for the most part.

The fact that Nahida also appeared at the party by occupying the Traveler's body also seemed sort of unnecessary... but I guess her appearing in person might have caused a big fuss beyond just the group (which she referred to) but the wider city. If they had already had her make that public appearance you alluded to first, then it might do more to explain this (and show why she still considers this method expeditious/convenient). It did point out that Nahida isn't limited by the elimination of the Akasha.

The other thing that was pointed out was that the resolution to Rukkhadevata kind of robbed Nahida of her agency to be duly respected in her own right in front of her people. Obviously she won the respect of the traveler, but they're the only one we know who remembers the truth. So if they had her descend and be celebrated first, and then resolve the Irminsul issue (rewriting history), it might have addressed this criticism as well.

(By the way, besides the fact that they added voice lines to every named Sumeru citizen when Nahida targets them with her skill, it was pointed out that they also completely altered the in-game lore elements in response to the "history rewrite" regarding Rukkhadevata. (Even things like artifact/item descriptions changed, world quest dialog, etc.) I've got to admire that kind of serious commitment to detail.)

In retrospect I can agree with what you're saying about Scaramouche, though at the time it didn't occur to me. Even a simple line here where they at least acknowledge "he won't be up for a long while" and that someone would be watching him or something could have been enough. Doesn't need anything huge, but agree that it's a bit of a plot hole until they finally address it in the final wrap-up.

Regarding the desert, I think it's more important for the lore than it is for the plot. Especially things like Dottore's background (for those who didn't read the manga), fleshing out the plight of the Desert folk/Eremites, and yeah the King Deschret/Rukkhadevata reveal of course. Also, whether it was in the desert or not, there was a lot of relationship building for the "squad" in that section which came home to roost in the final act. So of the three patches I'd agree that it's the weakest one (partly because Act 2 was such a stand-out), but I did think it contributed some valuable elements on the whole. There's also going to be a further desert expansion in the future (and they already discussed how Nahida is making outreach to the desert people a priority to mend broken bridges), so it probably also helps to set the stage for that when that happens.

And yeah, the decision for when they have the traveler talk does seem kind of random. I can agree that, because the "inner voice" was voice-acted in Act 2, it would have made sense to reprise this here in that scene with Scaramouche and be more consistent on that front going forward. Obviously having them voiced in the scene where they rescue Nahida is good but now that they're increasing the frequency a bit, it does make the randomness of it all stick out more.

All in all, though, I think we're at least in the realm of more minor criticisms rather than major structural or pacing flaws, so it's a step up for sure.

Yeah, the implications of this are being hotly discussed in lore circles. Given the alignment with the reveal that the traveler's sibling is seemingly not a Descender, I think the most likely explanation is that this isn't the first time Irminsul was "reprogramed" to alter reality in Teyvat (and I guess we can presume not the last). (This may be why all the Abyss treats the sibling as the prince/princess, but the sibling themselves seems to knows the truth about their origins in their encounter with the traveler. The truth of their origins was being concealed by hacking Irminsul.)

At the end of Nahida's character quest they showed the shooting star in the dream world and suggested that Nahida briefly felt Rukkhadevata's love/warmth, despite this history rewrite. So even though Irminsul can rewrite physical reality and memories, it seemingly can't fully rewrite the "soul." So this really makes me think that the people of Teyvat (including gods) are real, but they're trapped in a simulation, sort of SAO style, by the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles. And the scene at the beginning of the game is basically us being "digitized" to be trapped in the simulation too. That'd be the truth of the fake sky/stars.

I guess we are 4 regions out of 7 now, so even though they're still trickling out the important lore at a snail's pace, it makes sense that they're starting to give us a bit more to work with. (Of course, we can definitely still expect more twists.)

The Dark Iron Sword is very easy to get, just talk to Chen the Sharp in Liyue and choose "How're the fish selling?".
But remember to lock it, because there's only one in the entire game!

thanks. Found it. Not much use in my America server account. But in Asia and Europe where AR is low and good swords are few, Dark Iron Sword still has some use. I have it locked in all accounts, to preserve it.
