episode 5:

so far, my most favorite episode. Utena is a kind-hearted person, she fixed Korisu's important doll.

Sayo became a mother.

and Kiwi got jailed.

looking forward to next week. I like this anime so much.

Magenta is a true idiot kind of heroine

. Not that it wasn't already obvious. But this week she definitely messed it up. Let's just follow the suspicious lure into the obvious trap. Only saved by their enemy having the mentality of a child and the stamina of one.

Kiwi going to horny jail was a good bit of fun though

. And I'm impressed that somehow Korisu's ability actually helped treat Utena's cold. Not sure how, but hey results are results!

Korisu has a very OP ability. Only drawback is that she can't use it for long because she's too young. I hope Utena won't corrupt her. She was already drooling over her when they were introduced...

I haven't read the manga, but I'm gonna guess the getting sick -> hospital -> treatment with adult Alice thing is anime-original, just because it felt so out-of-place.
Also, her VA coughing like she has ebola

Nope, it's from the manga. They skipped one chapter after the magical girls were trapped in the dollhouse, then the next chapter after the skipped one was fixing the doll and helping her cold. The part with her mother coming home and Kiwi's horny jail might be anime-original though, I just skimmed to find this scene and the manga ends the chapter differently.

The anime shifted a few chapters around to dedicate an episode to Kiwi's introduction so most people expect the skipped chapter next episode. Horny jail was in fact anime original and IIRC the only thing we saw of Alice's mom in the manga was the note.

The budget (or lack thereof) kinda showed in episode 5 but I'm hopeful it'll improve in episode 6.

I sort of figured the mom didn't show up in the manga. A loving mother who just happens to be late sometimes didn't really fit with the character. Then again, having such a subversion is nice too, showing that she's not just another neglected child who engages in bizarre antics to lash out over her loneliness.

You want a prize for taking a stand? If you don't like it, that's fine. There are people (guys and, yeah, girls) who love it and find it hilarious. You enjoy what you like, no need to take time out of your day to let people know that you find a show "problematic" and won't be part of the fandom.

And what's wrong with the author? He made this, and a food manga about an alien who loves human food. Not exactly a major damning history.
