why so many conclude thunderbolt as 'alternate'. really, just like any spin-off of any story. art and design can be varied and story detail can be add up as mush as author like as long as its not conflict with main canon.
so... just MS have different detail. and have technologies didnt show up in main canon. so the just count it as non-canon. really? as far as manga goes in vol.7 history detail in this manga still not conflict with the UC timeline we knew. and about reuse-P device. this tech can be disappear in later timeline. since there is only 1 complete prototype of that and only 1 scientist left(oops spoiler) who can make this tech. and ofcos. reuse-P device will be phase out by psycommu tech like biosensor. and even god-like psycho frame. still can disappear in UC0100+ timeline. why this one cant too? Ep2 is more of a build up especially for Daryl as a character. Didn't quite capture me as the first episode but the fight between Io and Daryl's squad was still pretty awesome visually and the following scenes when they decided to put Daryl in the Red Zaku was quite a huge contrast with Io getting his Gundam.
Can't wait for the real showdown between the two pilots.

That was so painfull for Daryl, now he is full disable I don't like how a good character's fate usually is handled by a bad boss
Come on Red Zaku, kick that Gundam's ass! Also, for a moment, I think this series should call Gundam Thunder-shield. I was amazed how lucky the protagonist is: He got himself a Thunderbolt-shield after using Human shield. |

That Zaku frame running with dramatic music feels so surreal, and having flashbacks triggered by his missing limbs nearly hit my feels. This is too much of a build up towards their clash. And let us not forget after this series' end, ORIGIN will be back. Gundam it, Sunrise had no chill

still makes me wonder on why they toned down or cut entirely the humor, i mean compared to the manga the anime version feels pure depressing as heck, i mean the no future, no hope, no light at the end of the tunnel kind of depressing, the reason the manga was balanced enough because of the humor which makes the characters feels more human despite the tragedies & anger keep piling up at their faces, heck even the brutal bleak V Gundam still has tons of humor slipped in between compared to that.

Hey guys, subs for episode 03 is already out, in case some people don't know. It was great even though a bit rushed. Without going into too much spoiler for non-manga-readers, If you think IBO sacrificed so many kids' lives in the battles, wait until you see this episode 03 .

if this series gained enough popularity, i hope they do a much better remake which is more faithful to the manga, i mean many stuff were cut out, seriously, including the humor, making the series more depressing than as it is.

Waitaminute, each episode of Thunderbolt is around 16-18 minutes, right?
So let’s take the middle number: 17 x 4 = 68 minutes (more or less). Director Cut is 70 minutes. So…2-4 minutes of extra footage?

4 minutes extra footage of what? Extra characterization of Daryl and Io? Side 4 backstory? Longer Full Armor vs Psycho Zaku? Or maybe and most likely extra minutes for the credits? |

So, nobody's gonna comment on the last episode of Thunderbolt? It's already out for... what? Five days?
Anyway, this episode is great. It's mostly really faithful to the manga, and guess what, they even added some more details. How's that for a good finale, huh? I'm certainly glad that episode 04 doesn't left out or cut as many materials as episode 03. That last thunderbolt shot that "originated" from a certain kiss certainly looks awesome. I'd even say the that part and the overall battle between FA Gundam & Psycho Zaku surpass even the manga itself. I guess the thing they left out is the scene where Zeon made a triumphant run to resue the Living Dead division once they heard about the news from Fisher (the guy in the Dom). It made the Zeon look heroic compared to the EF admiral's fleet from Solomon who ditched the Moore Brotherhood fleet and left them to die. Anyway, I can't wait for the compilation movies. I kinda hope they add more scenes for the EF kids coz I think the suffer the most with scenes involving them being cut out. Btw, those of you who are interested: the anime ended on Volume 3 of Thunderbolt manga. So, if you can't wait for another adaptation to follow the story further, you can check out Volume 4 onwards.
