I stumbled upon this annoucement just now... so much hype!

Though I wonder how well this can be adapted (it was a pretty massive VN afterall), here's to hoping it'll be great.

As soon as I got word on Rewrite getting an anime, I tried to get the VN and see the material for myself.

....I don't think this will be good ever if it's even less than 36 episodes. They could butcher the routes just to make it 36 eps.

They could do it like LB!'s VN adaptation, but the adaptation itself lacked a bit of a charm (it didn't stop LB from being great though.)

I could definitely see the episodes to be like this:
Common -> Someone -> Common -> Someone
Basically at the beginning of that Someone's route there would be a little hints of the end of the Common route, or something like that. If you read the VN you'd know whose route should be first, and it works well because most of the cut parts will be monologue anyways so they can't possibly spoil the other routes too much. It also leaves a good impression of leaving the watcher wondering wtf happened on the gap (like how Haruhi fared out with their non-chrono order.)

...hopefully the wait is long enough so that I can forget about it and cry all over again.

Also Im aware there are some potential plot problems for this but those should be on the game thread.

Either way: hyped, but cautious. If they do it well they'll be trumping F/SN in terms of awesomeness, fail and it'll be just another Chaos;Head terribly good, but terribly rushed.

About the first question, we wouldn't know. As for the other one though, it's confirmed to be 8-Bit.

According to ANN, it's scheduled for Summer 2016.

Honestly though, I'm not too much of a fan of Rewrite. Too convoluted as fuck and the overarching main plot is less interesting to me than the heroines' individual route (I can handle convoluted if it interests me enough). Speaking of routes, there is no way they can do this if they don't use the omnibus format.

Character designs seems fine, can't wait to see how the characters move. I hope they keep the OST of the game, or a rearrange OST for the anime is OK as well.

And I like Kotarou a lot, so however the anime turns out, I'll still watch it.

8bit isn't the problem but the source material. If its 1 cour, then I might as well not watched it. 2 cour is even pushing it.

To give you an idea, Rewrite VN is just nearly as long as Clannad VN, and Clannad anime needed 4 cours to finish. 3 cours might still be doable for Rewrite, but the story must have to be very condensed that way.

Rewrite isn't as much as successful as big names like Clannad or LB though, so I'm not sure we can even have 2 cours. And if it's only 1 cour then even I can't be optimistic anymore.
