Exactly how involved is the lead female or the rest of the girls? She's not just there just to push the MC into the plot or instigate a one-sided comedy where he always get the brunt of it, right? Are they not just window dressing and actually contribute and have development?

Looking at the key visual, looks like its gonna be the usual kyoani design. When I mean usual, I mean chicken legs, big ol eyes and less shadows but good animation quality

The thing is, this is one of those cases where turning it into the "classic" KyoAni style would be a disservice. Just do an image search on Amagi Brilliant Park's LN covers to see why.

Sure, let's base the character designs on a picture of a guy's silhouette.

But I do agree that it would be a bad idea to veer away from the original designs.

Yeah - I am kinda inclined to wait until seeing actual footage in pv before beginning to become disappointed or what not. To be honest I would not mind "standard KyoAni designs" as I like them, but it certainly would be a treat for the novelreaders to see continuity with the illustrations they are used to, or at least a noticeable effort.

The thing is, it's not that the girls are unimportant; they have jobs. The issue is that the plot is about the MC being a manager of the park, and this means working behind the scenes. The only females in the show this season all are busy with their own tasks, and as such they literally don't get to be in the same room once things get busy.

The girls are not window dressing; at least window dressing gets screen time. They have the opposite problem that they are not directly relevant to the survival of the park for the purpose of this 1 story arc.

Well, this kind of design would be probably easier for KAni to animate than those in Cop Craft: Dragnet Mirage Reloaded.

I think they're really, well, generic.
Not generically KyoAni (whatever that might mean) but they're the sort of designs you could find anywhere.

I'm personally tired of Horiguchi's sameface K-On designs myself, but I don't really think this series needs faithful character designs.

As long as the scenary is vast and detailed, they've visually done their job.

And considering their past track record with Chuunibiyou and Hyouka, I'm fairly optimistic they'll do a good job in that department at least.

I spoiled myself a bit by taking a look at the manga. It was kind of on the surreal side of the spectrum.

I'd been hoping for something more down to earth, but at this point I'm inclined to give it a chance since the source material is by Shoji Gatoh.
