As that said I think this episode was really successful in making the viewer feel sympathy for Tenshi or Kanade should I say (since we know her name now). I mean given that her default personality is the the "never changing, cold/silent" type they single act of her buying that meal ticket is what distinguishes her from being a machine and that note really hits the viewers hard as Otonashi noted, something so simple was taken away from her already lonely existence. Now I think it is pretty much a given that she is "human" like the rest of them but being the student council president forced her to play on the opposing side whether she wanted it or not. But the funny thing is that the new president seems a much bigger of a jackass than Tenshi could ever be and Yuri might regret her decision of kicking Tenshi from her place. The new dude has this whole "Nazi" army thing going on too so I expect torture in the next episode I predict that Tenshi will probably regain her position in the next episode or so buy Yuri really needs to get her just desserts. It is hard to root for her team when what they are doing seems like playground bullying but with guns to me.

I was under the impression that they weren't allowed to kill the regular students because it would gain them nothing and more than likely cause them to, in the long run, get removed from the afterlife. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that the reason why all their plans are so simple? They cause some trouble, but not enough trouble that they could get removed, and then run away. If you remember, when the singer disappears everybody blames Tenshi until the real reason is said. My impression was that they seemed to think that if Tenshi couldn't get to them while they were making trouble, they couldn't be removed. I don't feel like researching that at this moment, but I'm sure someone else does. At the very least, its obvious that up until the end of this episode, shooting NPC students has never even remotely yielded anything.
As far as our new Student Council man goes... I'm having some Persona 4 flashbacks. Clearly they've realized at this point that Kanade was a much better alternative, and I have no doubt of this. One could say that she actually sympathized with the rebels, and actually assisted in their ascension from the afterlife. Obviously they have no choice at this point but to completely go along with the school system in a non-disruptive fashion, and anything else will result in their punishment.

Really good episode. I really, really, felt bad for Tenshi. Now that Yuri knows she's human, she better not pick on the poor girl again. Seriously, I really felt for her this episode. That being said, I do see her alligning with everybody in some form. The chair jet thing was funny, especially the replays. They did it one time too many IMO, though. Anyway, great episode.

when Otonashi was talking with Kanade, i was like, "awwww, she's so cute." then when i saw her being slowly torn down, i felt genuinely sorry for her. especially what Yuri said in the end, "she's turned to her favorite comfort food." even though there's no ship, i now support Tenshi. this one honestly stirred my emotions, despite being something so minor. i can't wait to see what else is in store for the series. at best, since i don't really like Yuri, she remains in purgatory, while everyone, including Kanade, moves on. at worst, they do the standard plot where everyone is happy at the end.
the new song was meh. but the new pres is interesting. if he keeps them locked up in detention, maybe they'll see what was so good about Kanade, and reveal what they did to get her back. the jet chair was hilarious. especially because they played the ed with it. can't wait for that one to be released.

This episode was pretty good regarding the obvious development for Tenshi, but to some extent, Otonashi and Yuri.
As far as everyone already mentioned about "Kanade", I appreciate again Otonashi's narration about how things are going. That being said, I can't see Yuri and everyone else in a antagonist role at all. Sure, what they did was more like some weird bullying. That being said, there was no real "proof" for them to figure if Tenshi was human or not. Regarding how it went with the novel, it is obvious that Yuri and Hinata had to go through a lot of things against Tenshi, which explains how hardball they are against her (it explains very well how they went as far as concluding she was like an Angel so to speak). Considering how the afterlife is hardly that enjoyable as soon as you realize your place (a bit like Matrix as we already know for a while), it is actually a soft way to go against Tenshi if you ask me. In the end, I can appreciate the whole cast for various reasons and degree, and I'm quite impatient what will be Yuri's decision about Tenshi, or rather Kanade. I say that because not only Yuri acknowledge before the plan that Kanade might be human, but also that she didn't react at all when Otonashi suggested that she might be an ally. As reckless and nuts Yuri can be, she is actually as sensitive as Otonashi, imho. As far as it goes, I wouldn't be surprised if an alliance is indeed made shortly after this episode.

maybe their reason to not shoot ordinary student is because they don't want to lose their support? (kinda) if they are programmed to act as a real human being, of course they will be angry to the group that injure their fellow friend or even themselves, so if students aren't fond of SSS, they will not come to their concert (the girls dead monster), etc. Which means lose-lose situation for them. heck they might even support student council to disband the SSS (maybe).

Makes it odd that they are strolling around the school when they have no reason to be attached to it.

we don't even know if another city/town exist outside the school zone, there might be nothing outside the school zone, well as long as yurripe still in her sane mind, sss won't go to borderline terrorism in school

While i didn't find the first part of the episode nearly as amusing as many here apparently did (Don't get me wrong, it was still entertaining and kept a smirk on my face, but never actually got me to laugh), the second part offered something that this show definitely needed imo - the signs of a continuous plot string the show can latch on and follow up on afterwards, as thus far it has lacked an importan element for me - a real reason to care for any of the characters, which stand-alone episodes that include a lot of other stuff can only do so much to provide, something i hope a prolonged issue is going to amend
Tenshi having a human side to her shouldn't be anything unexpected to anyone, but with SSS (or more specifically Yuri) having found enough brain to consider the full implication of this at the end of the episode, this could lead to a number of interesting things, and it shouldn't be surprising to see what Otonashi suggested become reality at some point, probably sooner than later, with Otonashi himself being the obvious bridge between the two groups. Where the story would steer afterwards the two camps joining forces i don't dare to predict for now, but regardless, the immediate events to follow should be pretty interesting, with the new council president in no mood for jokes. Personally, i look towards having Yuri experience some of her own medicine, and finally face some actual consequences for their actions, something i have deemed as "wrong" ever since the show started. Regardless, the plot-ball has seemingly started to roll, and i am itching to see what the next episode brings

i also didn't know Kanade was so short. after seeing this, i conclude that people who don't feel bad for her are heartless. you're not heartless are you.
you can also hear her "ugh" when she loses her meal ticket

When it's not funny it's good. Not saying I hate comedy but come on, now... I'm glad to see more interaction between Otonashi and Tenshi/Kanade though. This episode further questions the group's moral standing.

Was a great episode for development of the cast showed a good on Yuri, Otanashi, and of course Tenshi whom I couldn't help but feel bad for. Yui did a great job on the new song, I really liked it, though need full version to decide if I like it more than Crow Song. Also really loved comedy of Yuri's rocket seat, especially the second surprise owning of Hinata with him getting stuck in the ceiling . Three Hinata/Ozakazi reference was amusing too. So episode overall 10/10 this episode.
