This series is kinda growing on me but the whole post-apocalyptic-y fantasy setting reminds me of that Quitting the Hero show from last year.

Yup. Which is why there's idols and other weird things. It seems.

Dropping this, the animation was horrible.

That scene right after the OP where they went down the stairs felt like it was drawn by animation interns. My eyes were bleeding.

I get the impression that this production was not allocated a very high budget nor particularly skilled manpower from the anime studio.

But knowing tradition, they'll likely fix it up for the Blu-ray releases (according to the website, it's 2 Blurays with 6 eps each).

Woah, Kiyokawa! He died last year, so this anime is probably finished and won't get delayed?
It seems he also had a small role in Giant Beasts of Ars this season too though

On the other hand, the animation is really bad, especially when he... walked...? down stairs That was so weird

Yeah, it's not just that it's low budget, but the animators don't seem that skilled (whether in terms of using their resources or just in general). It's a shame, but I do like the story, characters and setting.

No clue what Kiyokaw has anything to do with anime's progress.

Not that convinced. More as DaVinci invention. To be persuasive, the show has to be closer to Bakuratsu Hunters or Sorcerous Stabber.

It means the anime was worked on while he was alive, meaning that unless they changed VAs for the sword half-way, all of the episodes would have been done while he was alive.

Curious to see if the fusion will be mostly a Nick and Curran thing (which would make sense given that they are the most suited to wield a sword) or we'll see all the different combinations of characters.

I tried to get into the manga, but couldn't. Not sure why.

I think the ending song(Never Fear) from Abe Mao is best song of this season, especially her vocal for Jazz Bop. It is good she is still singing Some anime singers quits the music industry years ago. Her last song(also an anime related song) left the endearing impression to me is 15 No Kotoba.

The wallpaper of the bard(singing traveling poet) looks too average.

The magician got kicked out of her institution because she was framed. Her teacher also got kicked out because he was also victim of the false accusation. He left the parting gift to her while joking about destruction.

Pacing felt a bit odd this ep, stretched out conversations with pauses.
The teacher fellow sure was a nice guy.

I was suprised that they give claudine a backstory. It seems of all the guys she tricked, nick was the one who gave the biggest impression and even more now that he is fine and even better than when he was with her.

The animation is pretty atrocious (literally, the first thing in the episode is weird, look at her hands), but to be honest, the story isn't that much better. I didn't think they really would spend an entire episode doing... math...

I was so worried Claudine was going to be forgiven for everything when they showed her sad backstory...
