My point is that anime original material can completely change the tone of the series like it did with Railgun, which is butchering or at least heavily distorting and in most cases, it does.

Ultimately, it can be seen that anime-original content can be beneficial, especially if the story creator has his hand in the creation of said content.

If you want to argue this, start a discussion in one of the Railgun threads and PM me to let me know (though I do check the Raildex threads when I see there are new posts out of habit)... NOTE: I am not saying that anime original content is intrinsically bad. However, I am saying that most of the anime original content I've seen for adaptations from another medium has generally been subpar and can in some case completely distort the mood of the series.

Given Vivid's nature, anime original content is most likely going to result in fanservice episodes. Which, as far as the mood of the series is concerned, is pretty much hitting the bullseye.

It'll be decensored for bluray! Gib your monies.
Although I can't say I'm too confident with A-1, although 7arcs had a lot of QUALITY, A-1's most recent shows such as Aldnoah Zero, Shin Sekai Yori (great show otherwise!) and April is your lie weren't really that well animated. And SAO looked a bit cheap; but I may just be biased against that. Oh, and Oreimo s2 sucks. Yea, I know that's not a-1's fault but whatever.

Vivid has 66 chapters out we are way behind Japan in the material. As for how much it will cover if it's 13 episodes like the other series they will probably have about 2-3 chapters per episode or so i think it will probably go to the start or a little into the tournament if it's two seasons then they can probably cover most of the manga so far.

I've heard somewhere that FORCE's 31 Chapter could fit easily in 7 anime episodes. Going by that theory most of the current manga could be covered in 13 Episodes and a couple of OVA's (probably for the hot springs episode and other fluff filler).
If the series end up being 1 cour at least i have hopes the plot will be more concentrated this time.

I expect the first season to handle the beginning to the tournament arc at most. |

Would it be wise to cover the tournament arc if they can't finish it? So far Nanoha anime seasons are kind of self-contained. If they can't cover the tournament they'll probably end the season just before it starts in order to save it for the next story arc.

I wouldn't put it past them. This is the same franchise that would sacrifice storytelling time to grow its shipping/relationship tumors just because. And there's not that many series I've seen that can make almost every moment count in a multi-cour anime. I just don't think the franchise has really ever shown to me that it was ever capable of such.
I just think it's better if they take the fast paced and "never look back" approach. And remember, there's no need to cover everything in the first go. But I suppose I'm not using "filler" as a term for strictly anime-original additions.

Well it's a different animation studio and Tsuzuki probably learned a lesson or two after StrikerS and two seasons of Dog Days so maybe the pacing will be better this time? It's december i'm already starting to get more optimistic xD

WHo knows, hopefully. However unlike Dog days or StrikerS Vivid was created as a manga first, it is possible he will add things in explanations or other stuff based on responses from the manga like this doesn't make sense here, or the way that said should be different.
