Well this is an interest anime so far and it's now on my watch list.
The animation and characters are pure eye candy and so far the characters are somewhat interesting. I'm assuming this anime is going to be a more darker and grim version of Konosuba? Wow, I never heard a cold blooded and sadistic killer Mamiko Noto before. She does Elsa's role very nicely and she needs to do more of these characters. It's also nice to see Emilia's seiyu get a main role as she did quite a nice job voicing for Megumin in Konosuba. At first I thought Maaya Uchida was voicing for Emilia, but I was wrong.

I figured they'll take less time with the first arc, so was a little surprised at the slow pacing.
Nicely done, the conversations and Subaru were irritating, not to mention him being stupid, all carried over pretty well. His character flaws are intentional, think Tweleve Kingdoms.

7 light novels published, which hasn't caught up with the webnovel.
The light novels are currently in arc 3, whereas the web novel is in arc 6. There's no lack of material for the anime, just lack of time. I hope the anime can cover all of arc 3, and not leave us hanging in the middle.

Well darn, I'm loving it. It met my expectations but still censoring but still bloody and at some point! The characters look poorly drawn but still beautiful when it counts. I hope it didn't go up in down during production.
Totally love the story.as for those asked info for the story, there is a we novel thread in the web novel section. The light novel is licensed which is why the translation for it stopped.

Hopefully the future episodes feature less subversion and put in some less clichéd scenes and dialogue. |

Episode 1
This was interesting. Lol just like Kazuma (Konosuba), Subaru also expected to become the overpowered protagonist upon entering the fantasy world with bishoujous around him. But things don't happen like that and he gets beat up by some guys, gets ignored by a passing by loli almost gets ignored by a bishoujou, doesn't have money, it's nothing like what he expected. So Satella lost something and Subaru helps her out. But things take a wrong turn and he ends up dying and then going into the past. Only he remembers what happened in the different time-line but since he's new to this stuff, he doesn't know that no one else remembers anything because those events never happened. He has discovered that someone is after Satella, but he doesn't know what to do about that. There is something more to Satella since when Subaru called her name in the end she told him not to call her by the name of the jealous witch (or something like that). The reviving in the past part after dying was interesting. If something goes wrong in the future, Subaru can always kill himself and go back and fix things. He'll have to make Satella and the other girl(s) who would be around him believe this though. |
