DAmn. The tempo is slow. They won't adapt till the end of first src for sure. It' 4 eps already and we'll only reached the knights exam next episode.

I like the pacing so far, much better if they rush ahead to clear some imaginary "must get there" point.

You know I would rather have a bit faster pace but actually see the definitive final for the season when for them to just drop it mid-arc and "read the LNs guys". I read the LNs already but I want to see it animated properly not just as an unfinished piece to advertise the novels.

From a purely pace point of view it’s very good. But I will lead to either a really awkward ending or some serious cut in some content. They have adapted 75 pages in 4episodes. There is 120 pages left in book 1 (not counting the extra story) and 380 in book 2. We know for a fact they will at least cover the beginning of book 2 since a character have a role set in the anime. Without a s2 it definitely won’t go to book 2 end.

I’m guessing they will end just after manaria arc and go for book2 if a s2 is greenlight

I mean it does make sense if its a split cour 24 episode series, which seems unusual for a yuri series but very few yuri series had the adaptation hype that this had. I remain kinda hopeful.

They do not neeed another full season though. Like 4-8 eps will be enough. Vol. 3 of LNs is a totlly new story arc.

The LN are kinda long, with just a bit of padding they could easily make a two cour series out of the first two LN volumes. I'm not really fond of OVA and movies because they split viewers.

Rae can be quite mean. She could have fought using her water attribute, which is strong against Claire's fire. Instead, she soundly defeated her using earth which is weak against it. Seriously, was there a need to humiliate her?

Also, they did not explain it in the anime but Raes final move is super effective against fire users. Unless they have means to fly really fast, you can just dig the pit faster when they climb from it as long as you are strong earth user.

I mean, Claire got huge respect from the audience for pulling off some really high powered moves. If Rae would have wanted to humiliate her... well, I've seen a lot of curbstomp battles in anime, this wasn't it. Also, Rae knew from her first life knowledge that Claire would have to make a show of force to get onto the student council, which is why she let her show off how really good she was, before using her "it's super effective!" move against her.

Holy, this week's ED became a duet merging the 2 versions with a proper conversation going on. Ngl, I'm pretty looking forward to the ED every week now.

Maybe I'm reading too much into this but it really feels like Rae is thinking she's going to die in the near future and is making sure Claire will be well taken care of. I'm guessing there's an event where the princes save/revive the MC but since she's chosen not to get involved with any of them, she's going to die. Except Claire is probably going to be the one who will save her life instead.

It may be the opposite actually. That Claire may die and Rae is working on backup plan.

Rae side got a completely new set of lyrics this week. Expecting the same for Claire side next week which would be complementary to Rae side.

Rae made Claire blush several times this episode. And of course, Claire was the one who rescued her instead of one of the princes! Now, if only she'd start calling her by her name instead of "commoner".

Lene having that side to her was pretty fun. Claire standing up for her when she was a kid was cute.
