If this is real and an accurate translation, it would seem that Tomino is saying that there is not just one interpretation of Black History.

As in

Tomino: Turn A looks like it’s the furthest away because of the simplistic setting of the “black history”.

Ogata: Yes yes.

Tomino: But that was just Turn A’s era black history!

Ogata: Do you mean there’s something like a time loop?

So, essentially, each show can just define how it fits into the timeline without worrying about whether or not it conflicts with other show's interpretation of Black History.

In other words, Black History is a useless concept as far as trying to unify all the different Gundam shows. (no surprise there)

That still doesn't explain why Reconguista would reference UC more explicitly than CC if CC is supposed to be in between, unless it's UC that is in between CC and RC.

Yoshiyuki Tomino attended the Romics anime and manga event in Rome, Italy on Saturday as a special guest for a screening of Tomino's Gundam: Reconguista in G television anime series. As part of a fan meeting for the screening, Tomino said that a new project for the franchise was in development.

Animator Kazumi Nakatsu had reported on her Twitter account in November that the anime would play in theaters throughout Japan sometime this year. A theatrical film version of the Gundam: Reconguista in G television anime had not been announced previously. Nakatsu's Twitter post has since been deleted.

G-Reco was a crazy mess, but imo despite being a gigantic flaw its part of the fun imo (though I would much orefer if it was coherent)

There was an article last year April where Tomino noted a lecture that he was working on a compilation movie for G-Reco. That was supposed to be out November last year, but presumably it's delayed and this is the official Sunrise announcement.

let's hope they release updated merchandise to coincide with the movie, heck we still need an MG or RG G-Self, that along with other suits like the G-Arcane & G-Lucifer.

Gundam Reconguista in G was a fun show. I had a lot of fun watching it. It sure had its problems but it left me satisfied when it ended. I suppose part of the fun of the show was the fights which were quite entertaining. The story got rather confusing with way too many factions to keep track of. But I still felt like it was a fun show to watch.

I would be interested in watching a complication movie. It would be interesting to see how they could translate such a mess of a story into a movie format.

Saying crazy thing like compiling this series into 5-length movie.... Apparently he said this in the interview on the recent Gundam Ace which came out few weeks ago....

Anyways, I hope it doesnt happen.... Please use that money on a potential new TV series.
But 5? That's the most used on a Gundam TV series... Even GSD was long where it had 4. But GSD was like 50 episode originally.
And this 'thing' is only 25 episode and he wants to have 5-length movie.... He could fit the whole thing in it without trimming any scenes lol.

So it seems like the first compilation movie needs to do well if Tomino wants to be able go up to the fifth. Yup. It's going to fail...

It was originally meant to be longer, resulting in the cut down version we got.
