Yea, because sex sells and we all know mangagamer wants to take full "advantage" of her "figure". What a bunch of pigs, although I'm not surprised since this comes from a company who sells mostly porn games, including ones involving loli's. I honestly also didn't think they would make any changes to the sprites, I wonder if they did that themselves or got their artist to fix them up.

GAINAX is mysogynistic? I guess I haven't seen a lot of their shows, but both Gunbuster and Evangelion are my favorite Mech anime, and I don't remember either having any mysogynistic themes.

How many times have I told you, Tumblr is a very small percentage of Higurashi's fanbase. Of course they won't listen, of course they won't care. If DEEN felt it fit to make an entire episode devoted to showing off the female cast's bodies, MangaGamer can use their sexy sprites. If you don't like them... Well, GuraGuraMan's working on an interesting patch you might want to look into.

I'm sure they'll do some good fixes for the other sprites as well, and hopefully add bruises on Satoko's body, which would make the most sense.

Hopefully they'll get all the sprites sorted out soon, and the game released before the end of this year.

Don't like it don't buy it. Import Kizuna or Matsuri or the French version or the manga or the anime. But I doubt MG will change just for you. If you don't want them to make money, don't support them, simple as that. If they felt bad about publishing eroge, they wouldn't do it. It'd be easier just to not buy the Steam version.

Yes, they are. Evangelion and its characters were created for otakus for potential deconstruction, using heavy moe and intense sexualization as a lure. People tend to see only the message and not the dirty side, which is what everyone liked it for, not the "depth". Gainax thrives on porn and sexualization, it's what they're good at and what most of their sales come from so there is no doubt about it, they are mysogynistic.

Yes, there is no way around that, these sexualizations are happening because it will boost the sales. However it seems you are twisting his word. They aren't keeping that Satoko sprite because of sex, it doesn't even look appealing (to those who it looks sexy, I question your sanity) and Doodler has mentioned that he doesn't see a problem with it, he doesn't think it's sexy. He didn't say that he is keeping the sprite because of sex, that is your speculation which you are bending to fit your opinion.

How about we talk about more optimistic things- Things we can all (probably) agree on. Has there been any news about that Science-Fiction When They Cry project? The stuff in Hou about Hanyuu and the gods possibly coming from space is probably set-up for that.

I haven't since the initial announcement, and there's nothing on the website or his Twitter... However, Hou was announced at the same time, and it came out, right on schedule, so I assume we'll hear more soon.

Yeah. It's Friday. I myself had some questions about the Higurashi Daybreak games (this is a Higurashi game discussion, no? ). For starters, it isn't too off-topic, right?

I've played the Higurashi Daybreak Portable Mega Edition on a PSP emulator. Haven't quite finished it yet, but only 1 story arc to go. Should probably finish it soon enough.

It's pretty much completely in Japanese aside from some text items, so I did some translating with Google Translate (lol) to roughly get the message behind the stories, and learned the Katakana and Hiragana for it as well.
And yeah, it's on-topic.
