Dunno if refreshing is right word. It was pretty much death fish kind of reaction, after all.

Either way, I feel this development is good for Science Kingdom. Sure things didn't go exactly well, but chief and his people are just that: people. Compared to aliens or whatever they are who petrified whole world these are much easier opponents and victory might be good way to figure powers behind actual enemies. Whatever they are.

Kohaku looked good in all those shots. As Ginro said, she is Ruri's sister after all, but the "Sailor Moon" type transformation resulted in some questionable face painting haha! It was funny to see them take on the challenge of dealing with frizzy hair and teaching us the science behind hair strands.

Surprised they didn't teach her more "feminine" characteristics, given the way she sits and acts. Gen even pointed it out but alas, her personality can't be changed that drastically as the "Pro" Amaryllis can.

Great to see everyone participate in the cosmetic changes. Ginro, got his worst wish come true by getting picked. Surprised the old guy didn't notice Ginro's lack of bust, since he wanted to cup Kohaku's, but everything else about Ginro checked out for him I guess.

Interesting interaction between Kohaku and Moz. He recognized the fighter in her and looks to meet secretly, not for romantic but for sparring reasons.

I wonder what Senku was holding at the end. It looked like copper wire, but I'm probably wrong.

is ibara deaf?, I mean he was right there when amaryllis told the entire plan to that guy, even if she was speaking low he was just right there, didn't he think something was happening?, or when moz spoke to kohaku saying she was strong and he was going to stop her if she tries anything. He was right there to hear, shouldn't he suspect kohaku?, they were speaking normal there.

So it was indeed a copper wire, used to make an electromagnetic motor, to power up a Mini 4WD. Never would have thought my two worlds would collide ("Tamiya" Mini 4WD and Dr. Stone), but here we are!

The rock/crystal earpiece has to resonate a particular frequency for Kohaku to pick up the signal right?

Funny how the Mini 4WD can go everywhere without a steering or radio control mechanism. For the purpose, it makes sense, as Kohaku cannot carry any transmitter to control an RC "rat", but simply launching the Mini 4WD "rat" back to Senku works.

Funny how Senku couldn't immediately figure it out. Props to Gen for noting that it was based on things the villages know of, and the fact that it's a phonetic code.

Amaryllis displaying her womanly charms to those hunk heads, and Ginro showing us that he didn't actually learn any language writing skills....haha

Great to see Senku's father. He knew the importance of setting up for the future. I wonder what satellite that was floating in the starry sky as he lay in the river to rest.

So Senku is not really biologically related to Byakuya (no wonder he always calls him by his name and not "dad" or "my father") but they share the same ideals and core values. That's what counts.

In the shot of the people on the ship, it looks like Chrome still had his head on.

Looking foward to the next season, the wait won't be as long.

if yuzuriha is still complete then they don't need to worry, there are some of them that are in pieces.

one step closer to bring back humanity. Byakuya couldn't have know how useful the platinum would be but still it has to be useful for something being the rarest in earth and if someone would find use for it is senku.

I've got to say that scene with the platinum being picked out of the sand really worked. Such a great emotional moment. Setting it up nicely with noting that it would absolutely take decades to gather a ton...and then Senku just kept picking out pieces. That's a good scene right there.

Byakuya had no idea what would mean the most and what would be valuable for Senku down the road. So all he could do was what he was able to at the time. Just banking on plantinum leading to something for Senku. Though he had no way to know in what way it would be useful or if it would be at all. But he struggled and struggled, until his last moments.

Makes sense why Senku refers to his father by his name. I wondered if there was something going on there. But I agree it really doesn't matter who Senku's father technically was (unless he's revealed as the true last boss behind all this). Byakuya was his family.

Thankfully most of the crew looks to be in one piece. So just need to revive Yuzuriha in the first batch and have her piece together anyone that isn't in a bad state. Even if the enemy realizes something is going on, it doesn't matter. Scoring the platinum is huge.

Although it's still a tricky situation. In theory they can revive everyone on Earth. But all the issues that entails is still there. Plus they have to protect that device at any cost. Because gathering more platinum would be a nightmare.

Eh, Chrome should be relatively low priority. There isn't a lot he can do that Senku can't.

Caught up on the season now, it was nice to see Kohaku figure things out on her own, especially since she's stuck with Ginro as backup (he can come through in a pinch but until then he's almost deadweight).

Poor Byakuya, outliving his comrades by quite a bit but at least his faith in Senku definitely worked out. And now finally Senku can make his own nitric acid. Too bad Senku had to be sent back almost to square one this season (with most of the cast taken out early on) but now they can start their counterattack after the break.

Not bad season, not as good as earlier ones, though doesn't help we're still only mid-arc but good thing the break won't be that long.

One of the things I hate about split-cours is that some people number it different and you start getting confused what is what

Season 3 episode 1? Wait, what season is this? Season 3 episode 12? What episode did the previous cour end on? There are two new episodes, Episode 12 and New World Episode 1? Dr. Stone New World Episode 1 = Season 3 Episode 12?
Yeah, that actually is what I went through before I decided that there is just an episode 12
If only the anime industry could cut back on throwaway animes and just make 2-cours

As for the story, since getting petrified doesn't kill anyone in the first place, I think even if parts of their body are missing, magic should fix the issue. All magic in the first place.
Or I don't know, getting turned to stone turns your body into one of those self-splitting organisms, so once you become unpetrified, your body immediately generates your missing body parts. There we go. Science.

Good that in the midst of all this that they managed to get Taiju back too. A lucky break that they couldn't simply grab Kaseki themselves. Taiju is a good guy to have around and he's also pretty durable. So if they do get into trouble it'd be nice to have someone that can at least hang in there during the chaos. Plus with his power it'll be even easier to make more air tanks.

Thankfully got Kaseki here and that'll open things up for them. Though it's still a tough spot. They need him back then honestly Yuzuriha would be nice just for putting people back together. But we'll see how things play out.

Horrifying scene though with Ryusei getting taken apart for the sake of smoking out spies. They are up against some truly creepy opponents here. It's still a tense situation since they are only slowly re-assembling their forces. But at least things are looking better.

Yeah, the Petrification Kingdom hosts psychos like Ibara, for example, and Moz.

But, since the petrification mechanics allow to preserve the body parts from within then Kohaku quickly understood that tearing apart Ryusui's statue into big and small chunks of pieces will fulfill two immediate goals:
- First, it won't arouse suspicion from Ibara and his forces.
- Second, the Ryusui pieces are to be delivered as "trash" to Senku's team being recollected by Suika.

We got Ryusui both reassembled then revived, then it became a need for Senku to make improvised scuba gear due that they can't swim down that 20-meters depth without risking drowning.

Still, Soyuz and Ryusui quickly located their teammates statue chunks thanks to Soyuz's memory and Ryusui's mental agility.

The last hurdle to clear was digging up Kaseki's statue tightly buried on the ocean floor with less than 4-minutes of oxygen to spare in their tanks.

Again, we have to thank Ryusui's quick thinking to relay a message via the rope to Senku and company by which Gen quickly deduced a request for more revival fluid.

No time they spare to send a vial of revival fluid back into the depth for Ryusui to use on Taiju's statue.
Another bout of quick thinking from Ryusui's part along with Soyuz quickly finding Taiju's arm to put in place, and the revival fluid is administered no sooner to get back Taiju on flesh in the bottom of the ocean no less and him buck naked.

And, the rest of the episode went history having the three retrieved Kaseki's statue from the bottom of the ocean.

they are already putting everyone together without her help, is like the cool ability she had in previous season playing 3D jigsaw is worthless now. Even if the pieces were clean and easy to put at least it would be nice that she will be the next one to do just that.

the ending was good, kohaku played well to keep ginro alive and yes the green light is science.

Kohaku is an absolute badass. She knew tactically that she couldn't overpower Moz and with Ginro's injury her choices were limited even further. But she didn't panic and made the best move possible for that situation. Even making use of her enemy to save a friend's life.

Still, they really are limited here if even Kohaku doesn't stand a chance against that guy. Sure, Taiju can take a hit, but he's not exactly one to go on the attack. Well I guess Senku can invite a taser or something and take him out that way .

Nice that we got a look at the apparent alien weaponry these people got their hands on. Nice that it appears to have some logic to it. So it's something that can be understood.

Speaking of heroes though, they unbelievably lucked out finding Taiju down there. Thanks to his superhuman abilities they basically got their whole team back (plus some other guy). Plus I'm sure Kaseki is grateful to not have a scar like that on his back!

Wow! Watching it, I thought Ginro was going to be the first real death of the series from the main characters and then I thought what if he was petrified just in time? And Kohaku used her wits to attract enough attention to "sacrifice" herself along with Ginro. Let's hope Amaryllis can relay back to Senku what that scientific "medusa" is.

And the "master" bearing a resemblance to Soyuz?! Just adds more mystery to the guy, which I'm sure slowly all the pieces of evidence will formulate a rational explanation down the road.

Never would have thought they would make a drone, much less actual ball bearings. But here we are, with scientific fiction so to speak.
