The system in use is called GoalControl. Camera-based. Germany-based company. 7 cameras on each goal, from all angles and sides, are sharing their information to have a computer reverse-calculate the position of the ball in 3D. The referees are wearing a special watch which is indicating the result.

It's been used in the Confederation cup and got excellent reviews.

But it was kind of ridiculous when a replay popped up at the 23 minute mark showing us the result of the goal line technology regarding the Croatian goal.

Mexico looks good right now but the linesman isn't doing his job properly. They should have been up by 2 right now.

that typically colombian referee, when they have a doubt about if it is offside, call the offside.

The FIFA referee has started the WC campaign worse than I thought.

I means only 4 goals were scored so far. One of them is the imaginary penalty. But THREE legitimate goals have been wrongly disallowed

My goodness, what terrible refereeing we have in the first 2 games already.

2 goals incorrectly disallowed, several yellow cards omitted... this ref is a total clown.

Not the main ref, the linesman (who should be given the beneffit of the doubt on the first play) it's the one who's making mistakes..
Also, while México it's playing well, should Cameroon change it's tactics, namely, take control of the midfield (by changing M'bia and Song's orders to more offensive ones and make Eto'o get closer to the midfield) instead of letting México play to the 3/4 of the court and then try to tighten the markings, then they should be able to take control of the match.

EDIT: Cameroon did just that, and generated real danger, but they lost tactical order in their defense, and México scored because of that.
Also, I'm really annoyed at the mexican tv transsmisions (god awful televisa) , the comentators are at best really biased, and at worst downright mexican nationalists.

Is Javi Hernandez injured or something or is he just not a starter on the mexican team?

I watched the first half, I agree Those 2 goals should be of been given. But its not the refs fault, it comes down to the linesman. First goal could be consided a close call, but the 2nd goal should be 100%. Right now I am saving my streaming for the Australian match. Australia have had a bad lead up to the world cup, so I expect them to do poorly, but I will watch them anyways. Maybe a miracle could happen .

And we still haven't gotten referees from small islands or remote countries in the world yet.

Third Mexico goal was conceded because they've inverted the courts, the other linesman wanted to nuke this one as well

And this evening for Spain-Netherlands you'll get the "best italian referee" who's pretty disliked in our country to say the truth, but he's well appreciated both by Uefa and Fifa.

Hereby I ask, how do you guys in other parts of the world see Javier Hernandez? He's at best an average player who got lucky when Man U had money to spare, but, how does the media sell him to you? Here in México he's treated like he's the next Hugo Sánchez, and I hate the mexican media for that.

I have no idea actually, I'm not a huge EPL fan but I remember him at the last World cup and he looked pacey and sharp in front of the goal at least.

Penalty! Costa bargained a penalty (read: took a dive) on a bad dribble.

Penalty converted by (aging) classy midfielder Xabi Alonso.

Terrific goal by Van Persie. It's only the third match, but already a candidate for best goal of the tournament imho.

He is just back from a hamstring injury so may not be fully fit. Seems a bit overwhelmed by the occasion as well.
