Crescent Moon had the problem of being a small guild with limited resources, so they could only serve 1000ish customers a day. The big merchant guilds have far more people and resources, feeding 5000 people three meals a day at 15 gold a meal shouldn't be impossible for them, while netting them 225000 gold a day.

Good grief, it's like I'm playing EVE again.

Yes, but competition would probably increase cost of materials, and drive prices lower.

True, they might farm their own materials like Crescent moon did (with zero cost there), but they seemed to be crafting guilds, as opposed to farming guilds (the scene about buying materials supports that).
They might also have the materials in stock already, but i still count the cost of materials into the profit margins because they had to buy them already (though to a lower price).
Uniforms and selling locations might bring some costs as well, but that would probably be minuscule enough to be ignored.

Oceanic Systems might get their money back inside a week, but other two probably will take bit more.

you guys also forgetting a important part of the deal apart form the money.

Delicious food, currently only about a 1000+ people day get to eat deliocious food.

Ocean System (2500), Roderik Firm (1800), 8th St Shopping (700) combine to about 5000 people. Once they get receipt form Crescent Moon, 5000 extra people get to eat delicious food.

4.5M divided by 5k people is 900G per person. Which is not a big sum of money in game worlds.

So the Benefits to the 3 Guilds are
1. Delicious Food
2. Able to make money for selling Delicious food
3. The Walkthrough and knowledge of this Epic Quest Crescent Moon and Black Heart Shiroe is on.

The Cost?
- 600G per member for Ocean System
- 834G per Member for Roderick Firm
- 2143 per member for 8th St Shopping Center

A bit pricier for 8th st but definitely doable.

I'd assume the guild has its own finances outside individual members money.
The whole "100 peoples assets" or whatever, was more for comparisons sake what average player or average level might have.

i was attempting to show that the 4.5M while high, when compare to the actual benefits and cost per person is actually cheap.

Besides once they learn the trick, they're not limited to burgers. They can expand to other foods.

While the negotiations part is definitely the high point of this episode (and Henrietta's Ohohohoho of Glee when the three guildmasters bit the bait on their own is ), what I really like is how this episode looks into the twin's reasons for not turning to Shiroe for help.

It gives us an idea the kind of problems newbies had faced in the first few days after the Catastrophe and by extension, why so many people had fallen into Hamelin's clutches. More importantly it reveals more about Minori and Touya, a bit on their characters and interestingly, the difference in the way they looked at the world and events around them =3

Crescent Moon has been selling foods and drinks other than burgers from the get-go. It just simply seems to be in highest demand.

It's good they didn't left out the twins' feelings, but I wish they've had better presentation. Minori's monologue is a bit....boring.

Apparently 23th Nov is Shiroe's birthday =3

Spoiler for From the illustrator Hara-san:

Perhaps that's why episode 8 was titled "Haraguro Megane" when the man himself doesn't show up much in it =3

And you know back then when I was still using Theldesia for the name of the new world? Finally I remember where I got that one. On the novels' cover, there's a short paragraph in English and the word Theldesia comes from there. Mystery finally solved! =D

Spoiler for Example:

Hope Minori's VA's cringeworthy noobness will get better as well.

Like how we survived early Maka in Soul Eaters, and that girl did improve impressively in such a short time.

I believe the episode had about 22 "/adjust glasses". I saw a post somewhere else from a guy who counted how many times the characters adjusted their glasses during the episode.

This episode alone could rival one season worth of Shaft Head Tilts.

I, too, do the readjusting every single time Shiroe does it.

And oh my god did this ep bring up EVE feels again. Investing like a baws, and I can't wait to see the utter humiliation of the poor sods under Shiroe's wrath.
