Agreed. This particular episode not only broke the mold or changed the pace temporarily but also delivered an adrenaline packed, horror highway.

Sistermon Ciel was just crazy but badass in the steering wheel or flashing her skills. But, still Ruri behind the steering wheel was the cream of the crop.

And, yeah, how could I forget Jellymon-sama's driving as well.

RIP Bokomon.

Once he died, it was pretty clear we were going to get a corrupted evolution and we certainly got one. It's interesting to note that compared to past ones, this one could actually speak. He was also pretty close to taking everyone out. On top of all of that, it seems like a black Agumon might join the fray soon.

Ok, Gulusgammamon may be my favorite character in the show

. Although that it kind of terrible to say since he's basically a villain.

But if nothing else he got the job done. He also allowed them to deal with a threat that couldn't be reasoned with while keeping the main character's hands clean. It's just the evil Gammamon that's at fault. Someone had to stop that out of control assassin. A thousand Digimon had already gone down and who knows how much further it would have gone. Although I guess we can now say the bodycount on digimon has surpassed the amount of people that have undoubtedly been killed.

Even have a Black Agumon which I'm not sure what that's going to lead to. Although I wouldn't turn down another appearance of Black Wargreymon.

Gulus is great. Definitely best protag dark evolution in the franchise to date. He can take the Beelzemon role in this show if he gets more screentime.

I didn't mention this in my previous comment but the Sound FX in this episode is actually pretty stellar. Not only that but this episode really reminds me of the old Italian giallo movies with its killer POV shots, slow build to a kill and a silent black-clad slasher with zoomed in eyes. In case you don't know, giallo movies predate slasher movies from the US & Canada.

I wonder if they'll go with Gaioumon instead? He's one of the strongest in the watch series, and his line in the CN game starts with a BlackAgumon.

Its appearance makes me wonder, is there more to the whole "Hologram Ghost" incidents then what they seem? Is there a more powerful Digimon behind it all and how does it relate to Gammamon?

Definitely possible. While Black Wargreymon has nostalgia to him, there are plenty of possible directions to go with. Presuming he will evolve himself.

As for the latest episode, it's a more relaxed episode where the protags gets to rest a little bit to think after the intensity of the last episode. There's not even a fight in this episode. Just helping Koemon dealing with loss which also directly helping Gammamon dealing with his own loss in a more kid-friendly manner.

Finally! Symbaangoramon is here!

It's cool how easy Symba wasted the Boogiemons but he can't really defeat Phelesmon coz he's a strong Perfect-level. Even with the help of Tesla & Betel, they still couldn't defeat Phelesmon. They were really lucky that Phelesmon decided to be generous and undid the stone curse on those people. Otherwise they'd be screwed.

Dayum, Hiro is finally told by a non-evil character that he's too soft when fighting a problematic Digimon. And that scolding came from Morishellmon of all characters. I hope that scolding sticks. But to be fair, now Hiro has an additional concern that Gulus will appear again if he make Gammamon kill other Digimon.

And of course, Hiro still finds a way to stop Jyureimon without killing him. He destroyed one of Jyureimon's tree rings and he'll need to wait 50-100 years for it to grow to attack people again. And yes, it's confirmed that Jyureimon has eaten a number of people.

I get being worried about Gulus (although he's still the best character in the show). But certainly there is going to be a point where being too soft is going to lead to severe problems. Probably. They've gotten this far with limited issues with that strategy so who knows.

Ghost Game never lets my expectations down with each episode.

Nice to see for a change Kiyoshiro man-up due to Jellymon's urging when both were at Kinkakumon's mercy, and, best of all, we got to witness Tesla-Jellymon's evolution.

TBH, from my perspective the main theme exposed in that episode was showcasing how the mechanics in many video-games foster and encourage the players' hand-eye coordination.

This was displayed with Kiyoshiro keeping up with Ginkakumon's pace operating the console:
1) Observing his opponents' moves at every minute detail.
2) Understanding how his opponent behaves based on the gathered details.
3) Reacting to his opponents' moves with anticipation in order to counter back.

All those 3 steps flashing at lightning speed.

While the theme of bonding amongst partners has been ever present since the start of the franchise in anime format over 20 years ago, I got to say that the episode did quite a job at paralleling Reppa-mon's dilemma against in contrast to Angoramon keeping distant and secretive to Ruli.

Spoiler:

The conflict with Reppa-mon and its tail truly got resolved when Agoramon offered it to work at the Gathering in order to test its skills for other's sake.

Spoiler: We found out about the Gathering, formed by stray digimon which got stranded in the material word, and how their members have to learn to coexist peacefully for protection, refuge, and information gathering-sharing. The conflict with Reppa-mon and its tail truly got resolved when Agoramon offered it to work at the Gathering in order to test its skills for other's sake.
