well it looks like he doesn't even need the ''evil'' gods to ''rule'' the world, even without them he is way stronger then the rest of humanity . to me he isn't to op the rest is just way to weak <_<'' (and way to arrogant ^^'' well the louder they bark the weaker they are^^'')

Well, if it's only about the church and the geezers at the top being corrupt, I won't feel this awkward. It's the church being corrupt and the good guy is using evil god's power that really got me worried. Seeing it from the lens even of a normal Christian, I think this is already a category of helping the devil. That's why I feel the need of reminding that this is a fiction. Just my paranoia talking, don't really mind it. I'm saying all that mainly only for the sake of quieting my noisy conscience.

Speaking as a fellow Christian, I don't think you have to worry too much on the 'Evil God' thing, it's more Cthulhu than anything Satanic.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Shiori will do, and the inevitable clash between Sumika and Lily.

So... I finally finished volume(kinda late, I know...), and there were some points that I thought were some important foreshadowing (my apologies if they were mentioned earlier):

Spoiler for Foreshadowing(?):

* Shiori's skill far surpasses a normal mage. According to one of the defense mages, it was on par(or at similar to) with the S-class from Shanghai. Then later on, the fact that she hacks something that even Homura would have difficulty with proves that she is at least near(or in my theory, above) S-class

* Innocentius mentioned that Shiori as the "Experimental body". For what, you may ask. Lets look at what was being discussed just before he mentioned that, the Messiah Project. Experimental would imply that she was being used to test something, akin to what a prototype is used for. So, my guess is that she might be a prototype for said project.
Would be interesting if she would later awaken her power in that regard, which I think she will, but I will get at that later on.

* The foreshadowing of Sumika's potential, followed by her later declaration that she would reach his(Homura's) level.

* The author stating that this story, rather than being about "a road to the top", which would imply fighting people stronger than the mc to get there, but rather "a king that rules at the top", which could mean that the mc would fight those aiming for that spot.

Now, my theory:
* Considering what the author mentioned, we may see others with comparable(yet obviously lower, for obvious reasons) magic power than Homura
* The messiah would be a strong candidate at this point
* So would Sumika, if the author intends a similar, yet inverted, route as Rakudai. If she does, I could see her contracting with another of those Evil Gods than Homura.
* My bets is also on Shiori reaching that level, due the what I mentioned earlier. Plus, there's the whole "what was she being protected from?"

* I'm sure that the crawling chaos would also have a role to play in the story, besides Vel that is, since he is known to play with the minds of his victims...

* Lastly, did anyone else noticed how Homura was compared to one of the beings from the Cthullu mythos that resides in the ocean? (forgot which)

And baka, it doesn't matter how much you say about this being a work of fiction, like a Christian as myself you know that there were and probably still exits people that thinks and acts like this inside the Church. And probably other religions too. Well in truth, as long people believe that some strong power or being is backing up/protecting them, they will think this way as if this power are their own to use as they wish and nothing can harm them. I hope Homura later discover that bastards are doing human experiments(they probably are even using demons), because he always kill everything that can harm humans Three-stages evil laugh on background Thanks for the update.
