It's when it comes down to saving the world but having to let her die, or saving the world but having to let her be brutally harmed, physically or psychologically, or having to let her believe that he betrayed her, or what have you. Stuff that will cause permanent harm: stuff that he can't just redo to make it better, because the "other way" means everyone dies, or something like that.

Ah, so this is the tracksuit main character in fantasyland Australia who's always gets repeatedly killed, and Konosuba's main character is supposed to be parodying this.
Oh boy, it was really fun experience watching episode 1A streaming with everyone screaming Konosuba, Kazuma, Aqua-sama, Megumin, and Explosiooons for 25 minutes and then almost nobody mentions konosuba again in episode 1B when sh*t hit the watchers with the killings and gore. Even though I'm disappointed by 3D background animations, but the battle scene was quite something and I can't help but fall in love with the yandere-maso gut slicer maniac. And also this anime will be 2 cours so it won't be so rushed like a certain anime from previous season with 10 episodes. VA choices are good (especially Elsa) but I'm still can hear Megumin's voice in Emilia, she's supposed to be more ojou-ish in my imagination, but Emilia's voice is too flat and rough. Spoiler for Re:ZeroxKonosuba crossover image:

So, curiosity got the better of me.
Um... well. That was a thing. Hope he can work stuff out and keep everybody alive. If he doesn't go to the fence's house, crazy lady will kill the old man and possibly Felt. If he goes there alone, he dies along with them. If he goes there with girl-whose-name-remains-unknown-at-this-time, the two of them both died last time, when they were taken by surprise. Obviously something is either going to go wrong with the trade, or crazy lady is just intending to kill people rather than trade properly right from the start, since she killed the old man before Subaru ever showed up in the first cycle. Maybe all four of them working together could stop crazy lady, but Subaru would have to be able to convince them to do so in the first place.

When I first read this series's synopsis. I approach it with caution as this genre has been overly saturated these days. I read a bit of manga beforehand and see that this story has potential. Which made me even more skeptical of this anime. Anime adaptation tend to butcher such a story.
Then I watched episode 1. Damn, it exceed any of my expectation. A job well done. I have no complaint with it so far. I really hope they can maintain this quality through out it's 2 cour run.

I'm in.
I'm so in. I knew nothing about this show before watching other than there were some girls in it, but now I'm so in. Seriously, my thoughts by the end of it were as follows: "MORE!!" "No! More! Now!" "Please don't be a full jerk now, Satella!" x 100000000000 Simple, to the point introduction (Bam! New world! Let's go!). Pretty good MC. Gorgeous heroine (Really, that is a fantastic design). Pretty nice "twist". Looks very good overall. I'm in. |

It would be easier to do what she said. All four have to take her on simultaneously. Subaru prob needs more skills and "Satella" needs to also fight. What was he thinking taking on an assassin with his bare hands?

It's interesting to start a season with no real idea what's coming. This show certainly surprised me. In a good way. The story is intriguing, echoing Erased as it does (to some extent).
Takahashi Rie (the white-haired half-elf) was great in ep1a. Her enunciation was godly. And Noto Mamiko (the murderess) was a joy to listen to in ep1b. Kobayashi Yuusuke did a pretty nice job with the hero, I thought: not too weak and not too strong. I'm interested to find out what the sides are that are fighting, and why half-elf was surprised our hero thought elves were beautiful. She certainly is, anyway.

I think she was surprised, not because he thought she was beautiful, but because Elves are somehow hated by the people. And Subaru instead of prejudicing her due to her race he just called her beautiful. At least that was the feeling i got.

He didn't have a choice. She was going kill him no matter what, so might as well go down fighting rather than give her satisfaction of watching him cowering before her. One bit that was left out in the anime is that in Subaru internal monologue during that scene he also felt responsible causing Felt and Rom deaths which also acted partial motivation for facing her.

Funny thing about that is that Subaru thought he understood everything go in the beginning and tried to invoke several of the cliches you would expect from this genre. The series wasted no time when it came to smashing his illusions.

I do hope he understands what's happening to him soon. You're jumping back in time, dude! Maybe he's more of a fantasy nut than a sci-fi one. |

Can expect his relationship with Satella this time won't be the same as the first run. Not his fault really, but he has made a bad first impression. Will be harder to get on as good terms. Of course I hope he can get on good terms with her and not have to die first to try again... The culture shock and clash should be fun to watch. The more time he spends here the less he can try to apply cliches to it all. He's basically been dumped into a parallel world, that's it. He does have this death related power, but otherwise he's just in a different world. That's big, but it's still a world. There are rules, cultures, different value systems, etc. I'm not sure if that's common sense as much as just memory. His memory probably focused more on the dying part than the voice he heard in the dark. It's not like he actually saw her the first time around. Plus he wasn't sure what all that was. He didn't get to read the summary about what his ability is . Someone he saw dead before clearly isn't now so...nothing really made sense. Plus he did feel a need to get the insignia so sticking it around while everything seemed peaceful wasn't a crazy choice.
