No wai!!!! I hated the Phoenix arc, the girls weren't even pretty, and no time for Issei to shine. I don't consider him beating Raizer because he cheated using the Holy Items.

I thought Bikou was more of a kid than a muscular man.

If there is a 3rd season, must SEE more of Vali and his "team"(esp. the nee-san).

Really? Bikou looks exactly like I thought he would, if not a little shorter and less toned than I expected.

And I didn't like it before, but how they incorporated Irina into this is better than I thought.

Like last episode, apart from the rather fast pacing, it was amazing.

Don't threaten to shrink everybody's boobs. Issei will murder you.

I guess the final fight looks better than season 1.

I wonder if it would change in s2. Do you know if it comes in subs?

The fallen angel acts more demonic than the devils. I guess it is true that a convert has a stronger convictions than one that grew up with the faith. I spoilt myself a little on how complex the back story and world can get so yeah hopefully we will get a proper 26 ep season next time. Even if it needs to be split like valvrave and lagrange.

Funimation always includes subs in their releases, and for at least the last 8 years or so the subs have been accurate to the Japanese audio rather than essentially being closed captioning. So you can still get the original intent and dialogue from the Funi released subs.

Does Dress Break only work on women? I was hoping to see Isei use it on Vali as a finishing move. Though I guess it is technically "armor break at" that point.

By the way, if it's okay I'd like to briefly re-open the whole "Boosted Gear VS Divine Divider" thing.

It seems to me with the knowledge we have now, disregarding the skill of the user for a second, the two really are more or less evenly matched now that we know two things:

-There is a cap to how much power can be gained by dividing.
-Transfer isn't limited to just allies

Seems to me the whole "Who will win" really IS dependent on the wielders. What do you think?

We knew transfer wasn't limited to allies since season 1. Issei used it on the holy water he used on Raiser. At least he did that in the novel, I'm not entirely sure about the anime since I really only skimmed parts I wanted to see animated.

And Vali would have won that fight if he hadn't left. Issei was on his last few seconds and even with the blows he was doing, Vali was still pretty much good to fight. Vali just has too much of a base in magic power and talent to lose to Issei at this point.

@Dengar yes that's the whole point of the fight of them being equal in terms of sacred gears but unequal with their wielders. DD has a cap but can weaken the opponents power to almost nothing while BG can temporarily increase it's users cap on power. However on the note Xacual saying Vali would have won, he is 100% right for multiple reasons, one being the one he mentioned, another that Vali was about to unleash his Juggernaut Drive (before Bikou interrupted him), and though i won't elaborate on what it is, i will say this, Ise would have lost in the blink of an eye.

...I don't think anyone was doubting Vali's superiority here. No need to add your own brand of foreshadowing. We get it.

I was merely referring to an earlier discussion about how Divine Divider was supposedly "overpowered" compared to Boosted Gear, which right now, by my standards, it clearly isn't.

So I'm not sure what it is that I said that warranted your needless foreshadowing.

Yes, because Japan has never included elements of Journey to the West in any media at all.

Sorry, maybe the sarcasm is a bit too strong here, I don't mean any harm by it. Anyway, I don't think this is any indication of the relationship between China and Japan. I mean, look at all of the Three Kingdoms stuff they have.

Let's take the sales info discussion to the appropriate thread since it's off-topic for the anime episode 12 thread.

They did it again! They managed to make this show even more great than the previous season was. Issei raging over how all the girls' boobs would be reduced in size by 50% was incredibly amusing. And he really beat the crap out of Albion/vali. I'm willing to bet he's gonna be a powerhouse the next time they meet.

And on top of that, he is one more step closer to achieving his dream of becoming a harem king, with all the girls living with him. Rias now has to fight harder to get him, as the competition will be fierce.
