If you have question about volume 5 (chapter 25 to 30) I can respond to them, the volume has been released in September in France (but no news about volume 6, perhaps waiting for volume 7 to be released in Japan).

I heard the manga is getting dropped due to licensing... but I am still really interested in what happens afterwards. Care to summarize what happens in the chapters after 24 for us people that cant read the raws? I hope it doesnt turn out dark and gloomy, as I liked the way the manga was in arc 1.

Finally, I dont think DaixRin will work out. They have more of a father/daughter relationship...

Haruko has divorced and his taking care of Reina, Reina father has a lot of success with women.

Koki is not anymore with that girl, he has started going out with her because of something that has happened between him and Rin. Rin has had to change email address more than once because of that girl.
The next day the fight between Koki and Rin is nearly forgotten, Reina say that's abnormal, Rin respond that it's because they are like brother and sister. Reina say that they don't look like brother and Sister.
Rin and Daikichi have a discussion about love, Rin say that she was in love with Koki but not anymore. In fact she don't really know, seeing Koki with another woman has hurt her, lowered her opinion of Koki and made her angry.

Koki and his mother. Ms Nitani think that she is not able to do enough for Koki, Koki don't think so. Little discussion about Ms Nitani love life, Koki was under the impression that his mother would have been going out with Daikichi. Ms Nitani don't think that possible and she think she is too old for Daikichi (she is 42 years old, Daikichi is 40), Koki say that it's not important. Koki say to his mother that she shouldn't renounce to a relationship because of him, and he will always be here for her, Ms Nitani say to Koki that being too close to his mother will make women flee.
Rin, Koki and Reina speak about boy being too close from their mother. We learn that Reina father was too close of his mother but he was also seeing another woman. Result of the brainstorming, being too close of his mother is a bad thing.
Rin and Koki. Rin say that she like Koki mother and want to become a mother like her. Koki propose the marriage to Rin, she can become a mother and his mother will become hers. Koki say that he like Daikichi and he would have wanted to have a father like him. Because of Koki ex-girlfriend Rin filter her mail but also the call she receive, Koki is not feeling really good about all that.

Visit to Daikichi familly. Kazumi is married and has a baby Mami. Kazumi has had to wait to be at a good position in her society to be able to take a maternity leave. Rin show her results to her "grand-parents". She has nearly only A, and she is one of the best at the national level. The problem is that Rin want to study on average college and only for 2 years, she don't want to be a charge for Daikichi. Her "grand-parents" say that she shouldn't care about that and that they have some money ready if their grand-daughter wanted to go to college.
Daikichi and Rin go to the cemetary. 10 years since daikichi has started to take care of Rin (Rin don't feel too well about that). Daikichi say to Rin to go a good college, he really want her to take the best path without thinking too much about him.
Koki and his ex-girlfriend (Akari). Koki ask her to stop harassing Rin, it looks like that when they were together he was constantly speaking about Rin. Akari is on her last year of High-School, she is a good student with a possibility to go to college with a recommendation and she make sure that nobody will stop her.

Spoiler for Chapter 29:

Rin, Koki and Reina speak about their futures. Rin want to start working as soon as possible, Reina want to go to college and get married she don't want to work. Koki wants to go to college and find a stable job to be able to take care of his mother.

Flashback, start of Junior High. Koki don't come to Daikichi house anymore, and he start to fight at school. When Rin and koki where in primary school Daikichi and Ms Nitani where seeing each other from time to time, it's where Daikichi has started to fell in love with her, but because of their respective situation he has stay silent about that.
One night Daikichi receive a call from Ms Nitani asking him if Koki was with him, Rin say to Daikichi where Koki can be, Daikichi go, find Koki and make him go home. The next day Ms Nitani go to Daikichi house to say thank you, Daikichi take her back home.
Daikichi propose to Ms Nitani to live together. Ms Nitani thinks its a bad idea because of Koki and Rin living together. They speak some more and in the end Daikichi say that they should forgot about what has happened this night. When Ms Nitani is alone she say that Daikichi is an idiot.

The text on the last page : Because I don't want anybody to know how I fell, I hide my feelings in the bottom of my heart and I move on carried by all that.

As I thought, it has become a huge melodrama. I think it wouldve been better if it has ended at Arc 1. Gotta give some props to Dai-chan though, he even sacrifice his love for Koki's mother for Rin's sake. I hope that Rin will eventually come to realize the love he has for her and everything that he has given up for her.

It is sad that Koki's obsession with Rin is what stops his Mother from obtaining happiness.

It's not a huge melodrama at all, or the everyday life of a lot of people is one The important point is that it's still Usagi Drop What I have put in the spoiler is the important plot point but it's not the whole manga.

Spoiler for volume 5:

Rin is fully aware of the love that Daikichi has for her and she has realized all the "sacrifices" that Daikichi has done/is doing, it's the reason she wants to work as soon as possible.

That would feel a little weird as technically Rin is still his Aunt by blood. Besides Daikichi treats her like any normal dad would from the looks of it. If this was American I can see Daikichi cleaning a gun in front of some poor boy that Rin brings home.

I didn't read the spoilers, but ch 25 scans came out and -- holyomgwtf -- timeskip! I lol'd @ it being played completely straight so far (Rin a total knockout high school girl; Kouki in love; Daikichi as usual, etc.)

In Japanese manga the nagging thing is an intimate, affectionate, familial aspect certainly but not necessarily romantic.

Besides, I don't think the mangaka is the type to troll that kind of shit on us =_=

Way I see it there has to be a "lady of the house" and Rin probably just came to fit into that role over the years, someone has to keep her dad in line, why not her(yes I've come to refer to it as a father/daugther relationship, it's very hard to see it as anything else really)

Gotta be honest tho, this timeskip is alot to handle, I mean she was just a wee lass before and now grown into a lovely young lady
Do kinda wish we a had a little more of a younger Rin, I loved the interactions back then.

Also I think it's safe to say that Daikichi is one of the better dads in manga/anime, along side Mr Koiwai from Yotsuba&!
Bonafide hero if you will.
Rin must had lady luck on her side all those years ago, she hit a gold mine with Daikichi.

p.s soooo happy someone is scanning again, altho it's licensed atm theres no vols realeased yet, so this will have to tie me over till then, so gonna be getting this series.
