The scene ends with the two hugging and watching the snow fall.
A curious point is that before that Kei talks to Satou and says that she and Kiyotaka are fine and totally in love.

Isn't there around a quote from the author about how Kiyo wouldn't change by his 3rd year of school?
I legit don't think there's anything "stimulating enough" to force a change in him beyond satisfying his curiosity.
As long as he sees things from those lenses, he can't change. And those lenses can only be taken off by exterior stimuli imo.

Will we meet Kiyo's maternal family sometime later in the series? We've only heard about his mom.

Also, Kiyo's enemy isn't the WR, it's his dad and people that are connected to him. Kiyo just have too complete humiliate him and kick him out of the WR. I have a feeling that Arisu will replace him after graduation. Kiyo need to mentally destroy his dad and make him submit to his relationship with Kei. Keep in mind that Papa Ayanokouji is a normie, just has a lot of assets and backing.
