There's nothing confusing about it, for me.
The Hustle is Paco body muscle manipulation ability. Dragona and Paco hurted by the wires, Paco quickly decided that before the wires cut them (as shown by brush and small trees get cut) he should avoid that outcome by using The Hustle to take scissors (arm muscle), cut some wires, carry him and Dragona to tree (use back muscle to grab and climb tree) with Jodio to help Jodio. It looks confusing because Araki focused on The Hustle carrying Paco and Dragona to tree instead of showing the entire process but he made moot point that the scissors is already on Paco hand in midst of sequence so readers better assume Paco already cut some of lethal ones. Hustle ability is nothing stellar but man, for a musclehead Paco sure value teamwork and aware he's not going anywhere without helping each other. Jodio, Paco and Usagi already shown what they capable of in pinch, only Dragona haven't contribute to this; definitely intended by Araki.

That time is upon us! Long story short, Jodio's gang decide to do a little more hands-on experimenting with the lava rock while waiting for their flight. While Dragona and Usagi test out its powers in a watch shop, Jodio and Paco discover that they're being stalked by the owner of those cats! How will they get themselves out of this mess?!
Unfortunately, it's going to be a while before we find out, because..... NO CHAPTER NEXT MONTH! |

So the cats are dead just like that.
Seems like a waste if you ask me. If they managed to somehow get into the burrito bag, then it would have been better to let them make another attack on the gang, and not punish them for most likely failing their mission. Then again it could be the owner's doing how they got "bodybagged" in the first place. Speaking of the owner, is he going to be the guy that swiped the money in front of them? |

So Lava Rock have Requiem-tier power?
To control Stand user without realizing it and possibly bending law of universe, is this the Stand Arrow of Part 9? Now I fear what the final boss and henchmen capable of assuming they got monopoly on Lava Rock supply.

Huh, now I'm kinda starting to feel that the lava rock works as a "reverse" Wonder of U in a way.... in the sense that rather than attracting calamity, it attracts fortune to whoever is holding it, instead. At least, that's my preliminary theory for now.
Anyway, anyone else reminded of part 4's Harvest arc with the whole watch store bit? Because it felt like a redux of that time Josuke and Okuyasu tried to cash in that winning lottery ticket at the bank, but the bank manager suspected them of stealing it. The fact that Dragona's stand is basically a Harvest 2.0 of sorts doesn't help matters either, lol. So, with that being said.... enemy rock human at the end, or simply some weird stand ability at work? |

Jodio talking to an imposter was wild. Nice tension there.

Speaking of the volume release, it will most likely reveal the cats' Stand name unless it's namedropped in the chapter next month. |

Last chapter of the year is out, and it's a wild one! Paco steps up against the enemy stand user, whose ability seems to be using dirt fragments to create optical illusions! As the enemy goes into hiding, Dragona and Usagi rejoin the group..... but then Dragona falls for the enemy's trap, and the lava rock gets stolen! Thankfully, Jodio is able to slow down the enemy, but now Dragona has a fatal wound to deal with....!!!!
Well, it looks like we've got stronger evidence that rock humans are indeed the main enemies in part 9. Paco even comments on how the assassin's skin felt like sand when he fought him.... though that could merely be a red herring stemming from his stand powers. Still, rather curious..... |

Volume 2 revealed that the name of the cat Stand was Cat Size. Named after a Suzie Quatro song. The cats collectively were called Wild Cat Size.
Paco is doing better than I expected. Then again I though he and Jodio are the fighters of the group. The enemy has a really troublesome ability (till they figure it out), while the possibility still remains he is also a Rock Human. Or Sand Human? Sandman? |

Araki surprisingly quick to raise the bar this time.
Not only enemy capable of near-perfect disguise of Paco, but also making use of Lava Rock fortune magnet idea through optical illusion to ensure them did not suspect anything without proper observation. All attacks aim for the neck too, only Paco may take the risk properly compare to the rest of the team. That's one way of saying Jodio team will be like light that draw moths closer; there's almost no need for Part IX Boss to investigate stuffs via assassin team like Diavolo with La Squadra or Tohru with Rock Human connection since it will be so easy to trace Jodio team as long they carry Lava Rock.

First chapter of the year is out! Thankfully, Dragona manages to save himself with his stand, but the hunt continues for the assassin! After cornering him at the beach, Jodio and the enemy take a dip in the ocean.... but it turns out Jodio has the upper hand. It's here that Paco makes a startling proposition: Have the enemy stand user join their group! As it turns out, the guy isn't as ruthless as he first seemed... as those cat heads from earlier were just one of his illusions. His ability, paired with his knowledge about the lava rock, may prove to be a valuable asset to the team....!!!!
Oh, and Usagi confesses his love to Dragona this chapter! He kinda rejects him, but maybe things could change later, eh? And speaking of romance, poor "Joushuu" isn't having the best of luck with his lady friend right now, heh. |

This chapter packed a lot of stuffs.
Paco stock rise real fast. Four chapters, he's not just muscle, he also got good grasp of his ability (likely from all his pickpocket experience), initiative and importance of leadership and more allies on their current situation. Dragona able to transplant wound to bottle, cementing role as healer. Then there's Usagi who raise his death flag. To my surprise Araki not waiting more to establish limitations of their abilities as well as difference of Hawaii setting as battlefield compare to all previous Jojo.

Paco sure felt like the actual leader of the group. Not bad, not bad at all.
Guess Usagi doesn't know Dragona is a guy? Though I'm not sure I understood Dragona's response. The potential new ally reminds me of Atroe, the body Foo Fighters used. Similar hairstyle, jumpsuit, but now particles instead of planktons. |
