Hi everyone! Wow, I'm so hooked into this series - and I just started it this week. It took me awhile to get into the 1st season of Jubei-chan, had to actually watch it over again in Japanese (cause I thought the dubs really sucked when it came to the jokes). However the sequel just rocks... even though they did a massive change on the twins - Shiro...what did the writers do to you? You were cool in the 1st season. Though Hajime's change was even more shocking...

Aside from all the awesome ninja action, I love the new characters - Freesia (I think that might be her name... Fuu-Ri-Si-Ya ??) is just freaky in both forms. Odago Ayunosuke is adorable... and pitiful, just looking at him makes you cry - but damn can he run. Kita(?) - screaming bad guy with the sunglasses - didn't really care for him at first (thought he was the regular Jubei-chan bad guy who gets his butt kicked for comic relief... but he rocked in episode 7. Don't wanna spoil anymore than that... anyone have torrents for raws? I have 6 and 7 ... but missing 5.

It's licensed and the DVDs have been available for a while now.

As suggested on our License List, you can check AnimeOnDVD if an older series has been licensed or not.
AnimeOnDVD's Grand High Licensing List
AnimeOnDVD's Region 1 Reviews

And then there are sites like
AnimeNfo
AniDB

Or, for more recent licenses you can look at the sticky in this forum How Many Episodes: Answered here!.

Some of the humor may be lost on you if you havent seen the 1st series but you could probably get by without having seen the first one.

While we couldn't find the official spelling for that name, we did find this:

and this:

Note the filenames.
I guess that was the creator's take at a "Russian" name. He's failed though ^^.

It's not really necessary to watch the first season, but you'll be missing alot of reference, puns and jokes.

Also you need to see the first season to know Koinosuke.

You should also watch the 1st season to know the real Shiro, when he was still a badass .

The funny thing is, I couldn't read kanji before and now I actually start learning some from Bantaro's shirt.

Amazing!! 3 straight episodes...well I haven't seen them yet so can't say anything about the progression of the story yet. Looking so forward to it!

I really didn't like this show when I first saw it but I like it well enough now. I was reading in this thread about how good some people thought the Solar subs were and I started watching them.

This series cracks me up so bad!! Usually I don't watch the ending credits, but did anyone else notice that Kita, the overly cool and angry samurai guy, rides the fruitiest bicycle out of all the characters?

I find it strange how suddenly Kionosuke just sort of popped in the ending scenes after episode 3. It's as if they are forshadowing his return. (Speculation only, could be completely wrong)

As for the show, I would actually say that it's an improvement upon the original. I love it even more than first one. Especially the fighting music that Jubei has, it's a lot more fast-beat and works better when fights are going on.

On the minus sign, I guess they must really hate the Ryujoji's. They turned Shiro into a complete idiot (A lot more so than the first one) and his brother has lost all his charm and doesn't even really appear.

But on a plus note, The sunglasses guy is cool as hell. I'll have to watch it again to remember the name of him. I think it's Kita or something.

Overall, except for the treatment of Ryujoji Shiro, all is well in Jubei-Chan town.
