We learned now that there are mobile cities to avoid the Catastrophes and that Chernobog is also one. Mephisto last episode said Talulah had already taken control of its command tower so you can guess that Reunion has plans for this city. And even let it get hit by a Catastrophe even when it was said that they could be predicted to some extent and they were expecting it already in the first episode.
So yeah, there's more to this and Reunion is more than just a group of ostracized Infected. At least, the top brass has some plans but that's for later.

Doctor still getting exposition even from a terminal. Convenient. No rest as they will be sent to a mission immediately. Close to Chernobog is Lungmen as the new place to explore and where people from Chernobog would flee after the chaos there. A good place where Reunion can infiltrate.
Lungmen time and start of chapter 2.

Saw some of the operators in the game in Rhodes Island. Cuora, A6 squad, FEater, Firewatch, Earthspirit, Perfurmer, Susuro, etc. Meteorite even spoke a bit too.
Also a short line from Frostnova in Reunion. Plus W who knows the Doctor. I'm satisfied.

We actually fought W in the game, though she really just came to check on Doktah.
Cuora +10% to production in factory, need better ops
I deployed Castle in factory rather than power plant

And why did they TL 帰還 to 'escort'? It should be 'Return'. A better one would be 'Homecoming'.

Ace really lived up to his name holding back the enemy so the other can escape But all so got to hand it to Amiya really pushing her self even with that mass of attack

I guess even eight episodes is too long for the material they're adapting considering half the exposition lines could be dropped or truncated and all the information would still be kept.

The amount of exposition utterly killed the momentum the episode had going, as well as the series as a whole so far. Heavy handed and generally just bad execution.

But it was preceded by a series of good narrative hooks that Ace took over for Amiya to all her to escape, and then further that W just let her go. There's a very intriguing mystery why she would do that despite the astonishment of her subordinates, and whatever it is, is tied directly to Amiya and probably the feat she had pulled off to defend them from Talulah.

There's absolutely no reason why Reunion should have let them go when the human prize of the Doctor was right there, surrounded by weakened and battered soldiers. Which is why I thought it was actually good writing. Now we have an equally big mystery to compare to why the Doctor matters so much to opposing forces.

I can feel that they are taking their time with this, still slow and a lot of conversation but I'm enjoying myself.

Next chapter there will be action, it's doctor time to shine.

I'm gonna be honest, I hate the fact that every single anime mobile game has the exact same setting and premise, it's always a dystopian barren world where they have walled off cities due to some apocalypse (or multiple) that happened/is happening, and the world militarizes itself to the point where PMCs of some sort run the countries and so on and so forth...

It just gets tiring seeing similar premises each and every time and I say this as someone currently playing two of these games, Arknights and CounterSide (my personal favorite of the two).

Well the infected sure are hated and even people who associated with them get some of the backlash

Personally I find the Arknights setting at least well done compared to others, after you peel off the post-apocalyptic layer. It's very detailed outside of a few techno-mumbo-jumbo. Most others are extremely hand wavy in everything including motivations of characters.

Dunno, pretty much only one I can say for sure is worse is Azur Lane. This one is behind FGO, GF, GF:PNC and Alchemy Stars. Nikke also feels better, though I didn't play long enough to tell for sure.

I think you just don't like Arknight's way of telling stories or some particulars of the arknights lore rub you the wrong way. I played some of the others and wont compare here since dont want to start a comparison war (and with some the tone is not even the same), but they're not in any way some glowing masterpieces by comparison to arknights that we'd just dismiss the show in one sentence, lore wise. Nikke is not even old enough yet to be compared; it only release what a few weeks ago?

I didn't say they are masterpieces and I am aware tone is not same. There are multiple flavors of post apocalypse. And yes, generally speaking when writing is not done well it rubs me wrong way. I am not saying that they're not trying, but execution is very clumsy, which is basically AK trademark.

That said it was you who said AK "has well done world building compared to others. " not me.

The setting of Blue Archive is a giant city full of thousands of girl-only schools. And for some reason, it's perfectly normal for all these school girls to have guns and regularly fight each other.

It's basically slice of life?

So that's different I guess.

There are definitely plenty of top grossing mobile games that are not dystopian in nature, like Uma Musume, Idol management games and Rhythm games. You also have your fantasy RPGs like Genshin, Guardian Tales, GBF, Epic 7, etc. Just not necessary anime adapted (yet for some).

This was a disappointing chapter. I mean why is doctor there then?, he showed his ability in the first chapter with the use of the PRTS, so why not at least make him useful in the couple of waves that happened in this chapter?, I hope at least he gets to be involve in the next chapter and beat the one who it seems that have a connection with misha.

I believe amiya will look pretty bad when lungmen takes misha from her and she can't do anything because misha is someone pretty important it seems. It's not going to cut it with "asking".

Doctor has important role though. Who else would be able say with straight face "trust Amya"? Well, maybe not with straight face, but noone else in team has mask to hide not so straigh face...

As much as this anime is bad, I think it's safe assume doctor didn't recover physically yet and not to ascribe it to bad writing.

If you expect the Doctor to do anything outside of using the PRTS then get ready to be disappointed, he is the player avatar that clicks the menus, spends the money and nothing more, Amiya is the actual main character.

With that said, I agree, why the hell is he even there? Couldn't he lead the troops from their base? There's literally zero reason he needs to be in the frontlines, especially considering how important and weak he is.

You are making it sound like donkey girl did any better. Nonetheles being gacha protagonist doesn't mean being bistander though. GF commander crawled several hundreds meters through mud to ambush several commandos and FGO Ritsuka lured most powerful greece hero to his multi-death while carrying someone in his arms.

For now doctor has some leaveaway as they just woke up from cold sleep (or something) and aren't in best shape, but just being around will not do in long term.
