From what I recall/heard, it's actually the other way around in the original VN. They just had Shinji namedrop Gilgamesh in the anime to speed up the process. In the VN, Shirou analyzed and determined that all the weapons were genuine Noble Phantasms, and from his knowledge of mythology determined the first king is the most likely candidate to have owned so much treasures.

Since there is about 5 minutes cut from this ep along with how RM talk was cut from Ep 0 in TV version, we can assume that Ilya burial and Shirou thinking back on Gil's stuff would be the cut stuff.

Hopefully when Shirou analyzes using his sight only, we get to see his "trace" lines going over the weapons in slomo before he goes and projects them

Pretty sure that Lancer trolling is 90% of the reason they paired the two of them together in Fate/Extra.

There is an actual SFW doujin of a gender bent Shirou but Lancer isn't in it.

Heh, Rin always has the best cute moments in this show (well, especially with Illya gone now, not that she had much screen time in this route, aside from the last few episodes). Especially with Shirou sort of claiming her and her not being able to admit being a couple. Lancer's teasing just makes it even better.

Happy to see Lancer show up, he's actually a kind of nice guy and gets along well with them, he's just unfortunately stuck with the worst master for most of F/SN.

Looking forward to the Lancer vs. Archer fight, curious to see how Rho Aias will be animated.

Battles are always exciting, but always like the Shirou and Rin moments, so after how dark the last few episodes were, that was a nice way to lighten the mood.

Shirou deduced his identity in Fate. In UBW, Shinji really just blurts it out, so it's a faithful adaptation. The other part is correct, though. Shirou figures out Gil's Noble Phantasm himself, because he can analyze weapons very well.

I still cant get over shirou way to always help other, i mean if i can help other i will but whats the point if you obviously and 100% cant do anything about it, did he ever heard the term "live to fight/save another day"?
